why doesn't Kasey Hill show up on any mock drafts? Does everyone not expect him to be a 1 and done or do people just think he's just not good enough?
what makes Andrew Harrison the better player? sure he has more size, but Kasey is much quicker and athletic than Harrison and also seems to be the better passer. Hill is about 6'1 175 which is on the small side but he's an elite athlete and has a 6'5 wingspan. With Scottie Wilbekin suspended indefinitely, Hill will be the starter and I expect him to be one of the best point guards in the country. Hill led number 1 seed Montverde to the national championship game where they won. Hill is as fast and athletic as any guard in the country(college or pros) and his stock will rise this season, and I expect him to be a top 10 pick if not higher.
Hill also has 1 of the best mix tapes you will see out there
I don't feel he improved much from jr to sr year. His jumper is fairly streaky, and he's probably not the vocal leader, or does he have the half court instincts that teams look for to be a really high rated prospect this year.
I agree with this. I don't really get the hype unless you strictly watch his mixtapes. I was more impressed with other PGs who weren't rated as highly as he was in his class (NWG and Tyler Ennis to name a couple.) Hill is dynamite in the open court, but in the halfcourt game he's not that impressive. He doesn't shoot it well, doesn't make great decisions, his playmaking and floor generalship aren't good. He's smooth but doesn't play with intensity on either end. Doesn't really get after it defensively, which he needs to do to make up for his size. He's pretty small too, so even if he can fly, he still has trouble playing through contact.
If Wilbekin is out for an extended period of time that's gonna be a huge loss for the Gators since Hill isn't as good as he is, yet.
So siggy y aren't u high on hill? what makes Andrew Harrison the better prospect besides size? does hill not have lottery talent? I think hill is the most talented point guard out of high school since Irving.
No I'm not. Yes, Andrew's size is a big deal for the PG position. He's basically prototype SG size with legit PG skills. Harrison's playmaking ability and mismatch capability is > Hill's.
As of now, no I don't think Hill is a lotto talent. I think he's overrated by people who use mixtapes to evaluate ability.
In games he looks like he doesn't have great instincts as far as leading a team, decision making and running an offense.
For this very reason someone should take a screenshot of the mock draft that is currently up so we can compare it to what the mock draft looks like in April after a champion has been crowned.
You can always look at old mocks by using a web archive such as the wayback machine.
If we judged players off their mixtapes Abdul Gaddy would have been a lotto pick. Not hatin, just sayin.
That Montverde team was a college team playing against high schoolers, Dakari Johnson at center, Hill at the point, D'Angelo Russell at shooting guard, Devin Williams at the 4 and then they started to use Ben Simmons at the end of the season. They were truly stacked.
All that being said I actually love Kasey Hill but unfortunately the situation he is in being labeled a "one and done" at this point just doesn't seem to be in the picture. It will be Hill and Patric Young carrying the team early, we'll see where he's at once SEC play starts and hopefully Chris Walker will be on campus.
they both need work still. they both got eaten up by dennis schroeder in practice a few months ago who was picked 17th in a draft that supposed to be weaker. it's early, the season will show us everything on how they grow.
Chris Walker not playing till January will hurt him, but Kasey is really good. I see him taking a Chris Paul approach, figuring it out his freshman year then evolving his sophomore year
To go top 10 in next years draft he will need to have an insane year. At 6' 0.75" he measured smaller than Burke in shoes, and has a shorter wingspan. He is also an older freshmen, will turn 20 in December, scouts will doc him for that. Despite being national player of the year, Burke went 9th in a very weak draft. In a loaded draft, like next years, its safe to say Burke would go around 14. Imo 12-18 is a very fair prediction for Hill right now.
