Tha King2121ParticipantJrue Holiday was terrible at UCLA
He is entering the 09 draft
Do u think he will be a good NBA player?
Who does he play like?
Where will he go in the draft????Just wondering because I hate UCLA and didn’t
watch them at all0 - Posted on: Tue, 04/21/2009 - 2:11pm #146835
ninja12ParticipantJust cause he didn’t put up big stats doesn’t mean he was terrible.

CitrusiswowParticipantHe is just like D-Wade or Devin Harris. He sucked this year because he was too shy, but I think he’s going to prove everybody wrong in the NBA.

canesboy6Participantits too soon to jump the gun on this kid, but I really feel like the NBA has a tendency to follow recruiting randkings way too much, because to be honest, he wouldnt be in any discussions at all based on numbers or reputation at the college level. That said, UCLA’s offense is slow and somewhat numbers limiting, he was playing off guard, and all the normal excuses may have some validity. Id rather hear reasons a kids strengths in may not translate to the pros then reasons a high school blue chips skills didn’t translate to college in the draft. That makes me really uneasy, and especially since knowing Collison is leaving and he didn’t stand out at all on an uncharictaristically weak and Underachieving team (for UCLA’s expectations). I think he is kinda like Chalmers, but im not sure if he is better and certainly not ready now. Bad move on his part.

QHaynes123In my opinion, he never changed a game he played. He never had the “wow” game
Griffin- 40pts 20reb
Thabeet- Triple Double
Evans- 33pts 6ast against MizzuEven though those games werent against the best opponents, you still gotta have at least 1 “wow” game

WritingNBA.blogspot.comParticipantJrue will be good. Right now you can tell he’s still growing into his body. He might turn out to be 6’5” when it’s all said and done. Look at D.rose for example, I knew him when he played at Beasley public school in Chicago. He was a tweener. And he didn’t always have the best of stats. Only time will tell. His game is mature beyond his years. He just has to get stronger. I think Jrue gets it though.

KATASTROPHEParticipantHe seems to be a solid defensive player but he needs to work on that jumpshot. I think if he goes back to school he could be a lottery pick next year. I wouldnt be suprised if he gets picked in the high to low 20’s if he stays in the draft. I think he underachieved this year because it didnt seem like he was ready for D1 ball.

edoom06ParticipantYou nailed it on the head, he never had one game (at least not televised) where he showed why he was such a high blue chip recruit. He had some solid stretches in games, but they were just solid not spectacular and he never did that for an entire game. From the little I saw of him in high school and from what I read I thought UCLA would be a good fit for him, so I was suprised he struggled the way he did in that system. With that said Citrus the D Wade, Devin Harris comparison is REDONKULOUS. Jrue must be your cousin or something for you to say that.

henryoh90612Participanthe said he want to play PG so he is declaring….
he should try to win the PG position for UCLA, rather than trying for a PG position in the NBA…i think with a full season at PG will boost his stock no doubt

michaelds911ParticipantHow is things going to change Citrus? If he was shy in college, I would think he would be even more shy in the NBA….I just don’t think he has the mental make-up to be a great player.

a2ParticipantI dont think he was terrible. He did ok but nobody really puts up stellar numbers in that system. He did show some nice skills to me. I think he shouldn’t have entered the draft this year because he is no where near ready. I think he will do good in the NBA in a few years but he would have been more prepared if he would have stayed. I dont know who to compare his game to. He will go from 15 to 25 range.
