Josh Selby
yes he did . but i'm against the move. I think he is a 2nd rounder. & that means he can get cut. Simple if he don't believe in his skills to take one of the kids in kansas spot next year or be a great KU player. then he going to have problems in the leagues. i would love for him to get a degree. or comeback & work his tail off to become a 1st rounder. the 2nd round scare me. but he is an adult now & has to make his own life choices. All we can do is give him the truth, as we see it & hope he makes the right choices. with that said look out cause "Showtimes" in the building.
I wish him luck if this is true, I do feel it is a bad decision though. I think his stock could rise back into top 25 next year if he can get some more minutes at pg and show us why he was so highly recruited in the first place. He hasn't proved hes a first round pick with his performance this season, didn't show enough of his athletic ability and taking guys off the dribble.
Not looking too great for Kansas fans next year, dreadful recruiting class coming in (so far) and lots of players leaving. I dont see Tyshawn Taylor being able to carry this team by himself next year it could get ugly. Hopefully we can get better recruits in 2012 and rebuild to an elite team again.
Excellent 1st post!!!!!! Way to sell us dreams
lol i actually twittered him like last week to declare for the draft

He'll look great in the purple and gold of the LA D-Fenders.
Right now I think he'll go earlt second round. But also I don't think he has signed with an agent yet, which means he can change his mind if his stock is not where he would like it to be. (I think this is what he will find and will therefore decide to go back for another year) Selby isn't ready yet, and nor is Jereme Richmond. But if both do declare and sign with agents, they will be early second rounders.
he isnt even good when i was watching kansas when they got eliminated i beraly saw him play so how is some one gonna get picked in the first round when they couldnt play becuz some white boys played his position
Well it doesn't say he's leaving but you can read between the lines.....he's outta there

And if he's in Vegas workin out that means he's missing classes you do the math...bye bye Selby
Agent link please.....this would be very beneficial for the forum.
Why must yall insist on talking bout Richmond on the Selby thread........Richmond has 2 threads for the day feel free to pick 1.
Earlier Tuesday, NBA writer Alex Kennedy tweeted that "Josh Selby will enter the NBA Draft and hire an agent, according to sources. He's currently working out at Impact Basketball in Las Vegas."
Witherspoon said earlier Tuesday that reports were not true and no decision on Selby's future had been reached. She said she was "sorry for the speculation" and would report news when any decision had been reached.
I'm not at all surprised by this, I almost think it's smart for his future. By no means do I think he's ready nor that he will produce next season, but he still has his high school hype to help his draft stock. If he comes back and disappoints then his stock will go even lower. Now he could maybe sneak into the end of the 1st round, but I think he'll be 31-40 range.
And although I do agree Chicago could do better as far as a backup point guard, I disagree with Selby being the answer, he won't play next year and he's not a pure point guard. C.J. Watson is the better player right now, and although Selby has the potential to be very good, he's at least 2 years away from playing decent minutes.
Bang on. Would have loved to see him come back, every time he was on the court I was holding my breath ready for him to bust out. Ku has guards left and he could again get buried on the bench...he is so far from ready and needs develpoment especially ball handeling. He is no way anyone's answer at back up PG.
I was hoping he'd get it going in the NCAA tournament, but he didn't except his couple 3's against Richmond. And I think you're right, the way Elijah was playing defense and hitting shots at the end of the year it wouldn't surprise me if he'd pass up Selby next year if he were to stay.
Imagine being the #1 recruit(rivals) and not starting in your second year. I think that's a major worry for him. Taylor and Elijah might start over him..I just wish I was 6'10 instead of 5'10 haha cause KU needs anyone big next year...my feeling is the twins and Robinson are gone.

Jrue Holiday had an unimpressive freshman season just like Selby and Bill self plays a team game which doesn't allow Selby to operate at his best he probably goes to a contender who looks smart down the road for taking a chance and recognizing the potential.
yea i agree, he will be very good second round pick for the Bulls!
I was just thinking, he'd be a great pick-up for the Hawks, provided they actually you know, developed him, unlike what they've done with Teague. I think it's apparent that Captain Kirk isn't the answer at PG for this team, though I'd like to see him end up in Sactown, could be a good fit with Tyreke given his ability to play on/off the ball.
@jaysmith
The thing about Selby is that he got a chance to operate at his best when he got eligable and then he literally took himself out of games and as a result got fewer and fewer minutes as the season went on. Selby got 9 or more shots 10 or his first 13 games and at least 21 mintues 12 of his first 13 playing over 30 minutes 3 times and averaging about 28 mpg.
It's one thing to look at stats and make assumptions on what happened, but after Selby's injury he proved how limited he really is on offense at a college level. If he missed his first 2 shots which he often did and they were most certainly 3 pointers his body language would change and he lacked the poise to get to the basket, draw fouls and get in a rythm, he'd just keep shooting 3's play less defense and create fewer shots for teammates.
It's not a Darren Collison/Jrue Holiday situation, KU ran a 3 guard lineup most of the season and Selby had every opportunity to excel. Selby is a very talented guy and Bill Self wanted to play him, but when he started to sulk and not play with the team, he'd hurt the team so Self had no choice but to cut his minutes.
Scared of not getting playing time?..Doubt it very seriously and if he was then he would be the first Bmore player to ever be scared of someone getting his playing time. Bmore players aren't built like that

has declared for the draft. not post but just told a bunch of us. good luck bro
