Wall is on fire right now. Had 20pts, 6reb, 14ast tonight vs GS.

    Since Feb 6: 21.5pts, 9ast, 4.5rebs and shooting around 47/48%

Even though the team hasn’t had much success, Wall is showing out and proving his doubters wrong.(except from 3pt range .091% o_o) Personally I feel that he is near top 5 at pg in the league and if he gets and outside jumpshot, he will be behind only Rose, and CP3.

To be fair, it was against GS. And we aren’t exactly known as paragons of defensive ability.

Yeah, I know GS isn’t a great defensive team, but the numbers are still impressive. He also had only 2 turnovers 6-8 shooting. I just wanted to show he played an efficient game and has been for a good stretch

@Joe My focus is mainly on Wall as an individual. He’s not at a point where he can singlehandedly decide a game’s outcome and we all know the Wiz have been nothing short of pitiful this season

Is a 20 point loss really the best time to point out a good game?

Yep he’s been great recently in the month of feb he was around 20/9/5 on close to 50% shooting, those are top PG numbers. But the wiz aren’t winning games so he’s not going to ge the attention he deserves.

In the GSW game he had a +/- of -1 playing 38 mins and the team loses by 20+ how is that even possible.

He’s definitely over his early season struggles.  In his last 15 games he’s putting up the numbers I thought he’d give this season, 21/9/4.5.  I thought he would crack the top 5 for PG’s by season’s end.  He probably won’t crack the top 5 (my 5th best PG is Rondo), but he will be close.  It’s too bad he’s playing for a black hole of a team.  Aside from Wall, the whole Wizards team is an absolute mess.

I was actually going to start a thread on this. 20 pts 14 assists 7/10 shooting and only 2 turnovers. If I am Wall I am unhappy. He needs help, and the Wizards need to make some moves. They need to bring in some veteran guys and let Wall run with them. I mean a team is not going to win when JaVale McGee, Trevor Booker, Jordan Crawford, and Nick Young are taking 60-70% of your team’s shots.

He doesn’t even need other stars. Wall is good enough to have the Steve Nash/Chris Paul effect on a team if he doesn’t have these other players trying to dominate the ball (Nick Young, Jordan Crawford).

I know people like to thumb down trade suggestions in here, but trade Crawford, trade Young, get whatever you can, and bench McGee, at least until he becomes a little more efficient.

Wall is playing well, but you know who else is playing well is Brandon Jennings cuz he just lit my Sixers up tonight and to top it off he shut down Lou Williams on the final play, and that’s the first time I remenber Lou Williams not being able to get by somebody or get a shot off whenever he wanted.

Wall is far from having a Steve Nash/CP3 effect on teams. His team was 3-11 in February. He had 16 turnovers in those 3 wins. Near top 5 PG? Saying he’s anywhere close to Rose, Cp3, Deron, Nash, Westbrook, Rondo is ridiculous.

No, just no. First off, everyone needs another star. Example, look at Nash and the suns now. You could argue that steve nash has just as bad of a supporting cast and they are still terrible but better than the WIZ.

Second, Jwall is not the same breed as a Nash or CP3 where they just make their teammates better. He is more of a Russell, Rose type where they get theirs and everyone else fits in.

Jwall can ball but he needs structure. Look at the structure Rose is in. Chi has defensive and offensive schemes and principles and they are drilled into them by one of the best coaches in the L. Westbrook also has a COY that commands the team and has everyone buying in. Wall needs a coach more than anything, then his success will mean more to the team and he’ll get that recognition.

I’ve said it before. He’s following D-Rise’ path. Very slow start, then at the end of the season people will really begin to realize he’s getting quite a bit better. Some are quick to forget that Wall hasn’t even played two full seasons. He has plenty of time to get into the top 5 pgs list.

I still can’t get over Jon Oats saying that Kendell Marshall is better then John Wall, that’s when I really started to realize that people are sleeping on John Wall’s talents. Long story short, his celing is as high as any PG in the league, and even now on any given night he has enough raw talent to completely take over a game.

Wall needs to start with Vesley and Singleton.  There are NO other keepers on that team.  No team in the NBA needs Anthony Davis more badly, though MKG’s work ethic would be huge – he might actually kill Blatche.

I’ve been watching Wiz in disgust the last few games. John plays so hard out there and the rest of them just suck. His assist number are pretty good considering the fact the that Nick Young,Jordan Crawford, and Javale McGee are ball stoppers.
