Michael.S.Participantjust wanna hear some early opinions in how good Wall will be in Kentucky and in the NBA. so we can look at this in the future and see who was right, ill give mine in a few
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 4:40pm #189630
MagikKnickParticipantDerrick Rose 2.0
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 4:42pm #189632
Michael.S.ParticipantMagicKnick u are educated about the game , what differences do you see between Wall and Rose? i see a few
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 4:43pm #189634
JNixonParticipantDerrick Rose is physically stronger, thats the only difference in my opinion.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 4:45pm #189636
HaleParticipantDerrick Rose has more pg skills, he is developed beyond his years. He is a tad more unselfish and is way more of a winner. His jump shot is better and has way better shooting mechanics. Wall is more committed to defense and is even quicker and more athletic then Rose. Wall is also a bit taller but Rose is more muscular and draws contact better. Both are fantastic finishers.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 4:46pm #189639
Michael.S.Participantill add 1 for now. Wall is way more flashy
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 4:48pm #189642
JNixonParticipantRose’s strength is the only true difference. Everything else is either even or its such a slight advantage for them that its not worth mentioning.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 4:49pm #189644
Knicksboy34ParticipantYou guys need to slow down. How many games did you guys see of Wall? Your calling him Rose 2.0
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 4:49pm #189645
Michael.S.Participantok so far we got MagicKnick who says Wall will be a D-Rose 2.0 and Knicksboy my good friend who says Wall wont even be that good ( sorry……… but i kinda think thats a stretch )
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 4:50pm #189646
HaleParticipantI didn’t call him Rose 2.0, I gave a comparison on the 2 of them.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 4:52pm #189650
Knicksboy34Participantnot you yup-yup
I didn’t say Wall will be terrible. I say Wall will have a issue guarding bigger PG’s. I saw the man play 15 games. He plays well on O but a little weak on D. I think he will be a great PG in the NBA but not a Superstar…
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 4:53pm #189638
Knicksboy34ParticipantDerrick Rose 2.0?
Slow down, Let him play a college game. Plus John Wall wont be “Derrick Rose” good. I saw him play 15 games. He will have trouble defending bigger PG’s and he is 6-1. He got killed by Brandon Jennings on 2 separate occasions…
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 4:54pm #189654
Knicksboy34ParticipantYou people need to grow up as well. Some of you guys gave me a negative because I think a player needs to play in a college game First…..
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 4:55pm #189655
MagikKnickParticipantWe all need to slow down…You guys are pointing out qualities that Rose didnt have coming out of HS either, Rose has 1 season experience under Calipari already, and 1 NBA season
Obviously John Wall isnt finished developing(neither is rose), he’ll get bigger, he’ll be able to shoot better, he’ll develop his PG skills along the way also..
If you compared Roses’ skills coming out of HS to Walls right now, you’d be watching twins, imo
After Walls lone college season, you’ll all see as he develops how much alike they really are..

0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 4:56pm #189656
HaleParticipantIt’s just going against the common belief. That is why people are taking it awya, you know people on here are very irresponsible with their point giving.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 4:56pm #189658
BasketballGuru24Participanti Agree With knicksboys wait till his season in kentucky till we can compare him to someone…..and declare him the next big thing
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 4:57pm #189659
JNixonParticipantI can pretty much guarantee John Wall will be an elite PG in the NBA. Derrick Rose was 6’1″ at the NBA combine w/o shoes, and so is John Wall. But they are both 6’3 with shoes on and last I checked you play basketball with shoes.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:01pm #189664
Michael.S.Participantthats why i made this post !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i can garuntee he will be a franchise PG in the NBA too , i wanna make people eat their words though when it does happen
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:01pm #189665
Knicksboy34Participantyou saying he will be elite because of his hieght? Come on Iguodala…I though you were smarter than that.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:03pm #189667
JNixonParticipantNaw, you said he will get eaten up by bigger guards. He is a big guard, and your arguement was he was 6’1, and so I thought that because he’s 6’1″ you thought he would struggle guarding big players. When his playing size is 6’3
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:05pm #189670
BasketballGuru24ParticipantYou can’t just predict high school talent as future stars…….marcus liberty, Johathan bender, deshawn stevenson, Gerald green, kwame brown, alll expected to be greats, and compared to greats, have done nothing big in the nba……And your saying a guy that hasn’t played a nccaa game a great player……im not saying he bad….he pretty good from what i’ve seen but do we know that will show in the pros
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:07pm #189673
Knicksboy34ParticipantNo, I said he WAS getting eaten up by PG’s now. I saw a couple of games against good talent where against some players and some PG’s where he was getting bullied…I think he will struggle a bit.
Even Derrick Rose has some weaknesses in his game.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:12pm #189678
JNixonParticipantYour statement: “I didn’t say Wall will be terrible. I say Wall (will) have a issue guarding bigger PG’s. ”
It says will, sir. but ok whatever.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:13pm #189688
Knicksboy34ParticipantIm sorry. Yea, he HAS had issues guarding bigger PG’s and will continue to have a little bit of trouble in college.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:16pm #189694
Knicksboy34ParticipantAlso, there is a big difference between 08 Memphis and 09 Kentucky
Wall will not be the main guy on UK. Patrick Patterson will. With 3 legit big men inside, Coach Cal will ask Wall to be more off a slasher/distributor then just a flat out do everything player like Rose was at Memphis
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:17pm #189697
JNixonParticipantThe only difference is Kentucky doesnt have a crafty scorer at the wing ala Chris Douglas-Roberts
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:19pm #189706
HaleParticipantMy prediction for Wall: 11-15 ppg 3-5 rpg 4-6 apg. That is what I expect him to do on that loaded Kentucky team.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:22pm #189709
Knicksboy34ParticipantDude, Kentucky is loaded…3 legit big man ( all who could go round 1 this year) Memphis never had that
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:25pm #189714
JNixonParticipantThey had a little poor mans version, with Dorsey,Dozier, and Taggart..but none of them were 1st round talents. Just tough guys who converted easy shots at the rim offensively.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:27pm #189719
Knicksboy34Participantcome on now man….poor man versions. these guys can create there own shots….3 1st round talents to a 2 2nd round picks and a undrafted player….those guys are these guys’ worst.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:34pm #189736
JNixonParticipant“those guys are these guys’ worst.”
Thats what a poor mans version is lol…
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:37pm #189740
Knicksboy34ParticipantAll in all, we need to wait on these HS kids before calling them superstars at the NBA. Guys like Robert Swift, Edbui Ebi, Shannon Brown etc were top rated Prospects and were being talked about the same way you guys talk about Wall.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:40pm #189745
knicksfreakParticipantWall is still young. He can hit the weight room. He is very long for a PG too. I’d trade my whole team just for a chance to get him.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:41pm #189748
HaleParticipantTo me, sometimes their are prospects you just know will succeed. I think Wall is one of them. I thought Rose, LeBron, Dwight and OJ were too. I haven’t been wrong on a hs prospect yet haha! Wall is next in line for me.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:41pm #189749
Michael.S.Participanti know when i see a S.T.A.R and it’s not often but when i do see one i can just tell ( they are lightyears ahead of every1 else )
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:41pm #189752
Knicksboy34ParticipantI REPEAT
All in all, we need to wait on these HS kids before calling them superstars at the NBA. Guys like Robert Swift, Edbui Ebi, Shannon Brown etc were top rated Prospects and were being talked about the same way you guys talk about Wall.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:42pm #189753
JNixonParticipantI never talked about Robert Swift that way, as a matter of fact I always wondered why he was highly rated. He is very weak and goofy and has always been since I saw him in the Mickey D’s game. I did like Shannon Brown in HS, but he wasnt hyped like John Wall and I never thought he would be an elite player in the NBA. I did think he was going to start with some team though, and he may with LA if Phil Jackson realizes he is better than Fisher and Farmar. And Ebi was raw, and too weak to play NBA. None of those players were nearly as hyped as Wall though.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:43pm #189754
HaleParticipantI rarely think this highly of a prospect, I said he would succeed, not win MVP. I never thought any of those guys were good either. Like I said I’m perfect so far so until I am not, i will take my own word for it that he is going to be good.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:47pm #189757
Knicksboy34ParticipantI’m not saying he wont succeed. I’m just saying, slow down before you predict too much for John Wall because there have been players who dont live up to it.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:48pm #189760
Knicksboy34ParticipantNone of those players were nearly as hyped as Wall though.
Not by you…there was a reason they were highly regarded.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:49pm #189758
HaleParticipantLike I have been saying I said he will succeed not win MVP. I don’t believe I am getting ahead of myself by saying that.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:49pm #189761
Knicksboy34ParticipantIm not only talking to you yup-yup…relax
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:50pm #189764
Knicksboy34Participantme?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:51pm #189765
JNixonParticipantYou think Shannon Brown, Robert Swift and Nbudi Ebi were as hyped as John Wall??? I doubt that….
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:52pm #189762
HaleParticipantLeBron and Mayo weren’t as hyped as Wall??? You’re kidding right? Unless you are talking about Swift and the other busts.
Knicksboy it gets confusing when you don’t label who you are talking too.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:52pm #189766
McWinningParticipantwill be good but i dont think of him as an Mvp player the next 10 years of mvps will be owned by Rose, Durant, and Lebron.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:53pm #189767
Knicksboy34ParticipantYou think Shannon Brown, Robert Swift and Nbudi Ebi were as hyped as John Wall??? I doubt that….
Ummm..Why do you think people wanted them? Why do you think they were ranked high in HS…People thought they would be great.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:55pm #189772
knicksfreakParticipantWall is much more hyped than Ebi. Theres a reason he is projected to go #1. Ebi never got that respect. He was a long athletic player that got taken on potential. Wall is in a different boat. I dont know official measurements but he looks taller than Rose. He moves like Rose but finishes like Wade. Cant get a much better combination than that.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:56pm #189773
Michael.S.Participantnone of them were #1 picks like Wall will Prob. be though, so they werent as hyped though
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:58pm #189779
JNixonParticipantThey were like the top 15 prospects in there class. Remember, the class were Dwight Howard, Shaun Livingston, and Sebastian Telfair among others were drafted higher than them in the 03 and 04 class? Swift was the only one out of those 3 who was taken in the lotto I believe. John Wall s much higher ranked, and he gets more pub than all 3 of them when they were prospects.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:58pm #189780
Knicksboy34Participantnone of them were #1 picks like Wall will Prob. be though, so they werent as hyped though
That doesnt mean anything…
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 5:59pm #189782
JNixonParticipantThank yall Knicksfreak and Mikenike. I know I couldnt have been the only one to think that way!
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:00pm #189783
Michael.S.Participanthim being a #1 pick means that peple view him as the BEST prospect in the whole draft . that means something
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:02pm #189784
Knicksboy34Participanthim being a #1 pick means that peple view him as the BEST prospect in the whole draft
for this season, he would not have went 1st in 2009…..
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:03pm #189785
HaleParticipantHe would have went 2nd Knicksboy. At worst. He could have went 1 if a different team won the lottery. What is with the Wall hating? I know he hasn’t played in college yet but some people are just stars.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:03pm #189786
knicksfreakParticipantHe had a legitimate chance to challenge Blake Griffin for the #1 spot. Him and only him.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:05pm #189787
Michael.S.Participantummmm yes he would have , the Clipps NEED a point guard for the future still, Griffin wasn’t a necessity like Wall
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:07pm #189790
knicksfreakParticipantExactly. The Clippers were stacked at the bigs if anybody remembers. Wall would have been a good pick for them. Wall and Gordon is a small but great backcourt.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:07pm #189791
JNixonParticipantJohn Wall definitely wouldve went 1st. It wouldve been a D.Rose/Mike Beasley scenario all over again. A high level PG will always be picked over a high level PF
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:09pm #189794
Knicksboy34ParticipantListen. You guys are hyping up Wall too much. Future MVP. Elite PG. Etc,
I never said he will be a Bust, I said simply : Slow Down. I seen it before where a hyped up prospect doesn’t deliver. All I’m saying is before you call him ” God on the court” let him play in college.
Also, (Be Honest) I barely heard of John Wall before Brandon Jennings left HS. Jennings tore up Wall on 2 different games. He had some problems on D against him. Some of you people call Jennings a bust, but he whips up on Wall?
Say Whatever after that, All I’m saying is slow down.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:12pm #189800
HaleParticipantWhat are you reading? No one called him MVP, god on the court, elite pg or anything. Stop hating on the guy just cuz your knicks can’t draft him.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:13pm #189802
Toronto16ParticipantIn my opinion he will be a better pro than Derrick Rose
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:13pm #189803
JNixonParticipantI never really heard of Brandon Jennings when Derrick Rose was playing, so what’s you reasoning behind that argument? I dont think John Wall is a Savior, but I do think he will be an elite PG in college and in the NBA sooner rather than later.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:14pm #189804
Michael.S.Participantwell i did call him a future franchise PG ……….oops : P
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:14pm #189805
Knicksboy34ParticipantIm not hating on him at all. I never said he would be a bust…All I said was Slow Down. Do you understand…Slow Down?
I’m not dissing him at all….so you need to relax
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:15pm #189806
knicksfreakParticipantI dont know knicksboy. Can anybody think of a guard projected so high being a flop? I cant off the top of my head. This looks like the strongest draft in years and he is projected #1. Theres something to be said about that.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:16pm #189807
Knicksboy34ParticipantI never really heard of Brandon Jennings when Derrick Rose was playing
I did
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:16pm #189810
HaleParticipantI don’t need to slow down. You don’t understand. I haven’t called him god, I said he will be good. I am not being too fast in the slightest.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:18pm #189811
Knicksboy34ParticipantYup-Yup
I wasn’t only talking about you! God I said that already!
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:19pm #189812
JNixonParticipantQuit lying man. You wasnt up on Jennings then, I dont believe that lol….
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:19pm #189813
knicksfreakParticipantWell you can quote me right now saying that Wall will be a top 5 PG in the league with a ceiling of D-Wade. He has the attitude that Rose is missing. He plays and acts like a star. If I’m wrong I welcome you to make me eat my words.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:20pm #189814
HaleParticipantIm not hating on him at all. I never said he would be a bust…All I said was Slow Down. Do you understand…Slow Down?
I’m not dissing him at all….so you need to relax
That is clearly addressed to me.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:21pm #189815
Michael.S.ParticipantOMG u took the DAMN words right outta my mouth
“He has the attitude that Rose is missing. He plays and acts like a star. If I’m wrong I welcome you to make me eat my words.”
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:24pm #189816
Knicksboy34ParticipantYea that part addressed you because you called me a hater for no reason.
I never said…Wall’s gonna suck. No, I said simple “Slow Down”
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:24pm #189819
HaleParticipantThen I told you I didn’t need to slow down and you said you weren’t talking to me. Make up your mind lol.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:27pm #189821
knicksfreakParticipantIts no fun if you wait to see what happens. Making bold predictions is what we do.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:27pm #189822
Knicksboy34ParticipantI cannot wait till next year when people are gonna say
OMG! Harrison Barnes is gonna be a top 5 SG. Brandon Knight is the greatest! He’s gonna be a NBA SUPERSTAR
Also, since Knicksfreak is making predictions I wanna make one, Brandon Knight will be better then John Wall in the NBA.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:29pm #189823
knicksfreakParticipantHey, you never know. OJ Mayo was a lock for #1 until Rose and Beasley had sick freshman seasons.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:29pm #189824
HaleParticipantReally? I am not a big fan of Brandon Knight. I do think Barnes is going to be very good and I think Wroten is going to be extremely good the following year.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:30pm #189825
Michael.S.ParticipantBrandon Knight will be better then John Wall in the NBA.
forreal though are u serious about that one? but hey , watch out for Tony Wroten next year0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:32pm #189827
Knicksboy34ParticipantBrandon Knight is sick. My Granddad just sent me like 10 tapes of him as a Junior. He reminds me of like a mix of J-Kidd and Magic.
The issue with Knight is he needs to increase that assist number. He averaged like 5 a game last year.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:32pm #189828
Michael.S.Participantyupyup man i wanted to be the first to say Wroten
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:33pm #189829
JNixonParticipantBrandon Knight wont be as good as Wall. He will be a great player and he has a great future, but he will not be as good as Wall.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:34pm #189830
HaleParticipantHaha Wroten is going to be a beast. I see a star in him, he incredible vision for a soph. and he should only get bigger and be a playmaking 2 guard. Knight is good, I just think Wall will be better. But hey, you could easily be right.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:34pm #189832
Michael.S.Participantall jokes aside though,i think i will be better than Brandon Knight though in my Junior year
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:35pm #189833
Knicksboy34ParticipantMy prediction…I’m telling you now before most people on this site starts blowing him, Knight is gonna be phenomenal in the NBA
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:37pm #189835
Knicksboy34Participanti think i will be better than Brandon Knight though in my Junior year
how good are you? what did you average last season? I hope you were kidding.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:38pm #189836
Michael.S.Participant“Knight is gonna be phenomenal in the NBA”
HAHAHA and we were speaking too early about J-Wall, it’s ok though, i knew u werent crazy about Wall like me
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:38pm #189834
HaleParticipantI see a bigger Jason Terry in Brandon Knight.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:39pm #189838
Michael.S.ParticipantOH NO
i talked to u a while ago about my ball-handling, im definitely not kidding, i didn’t play last year GRADES : (0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:40pm #189839
HaleParticipantAren’t you only like 14 or 15? You have a lot of balling to do still. Real name please?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:41pm #189840
JNixonParticipantKnight’s team played the Georgia Stars a year back and he has a nice hesitation dribble that he follows with a quick jump shot, its NBA caliber. But he isnt the athlete Wall is (who really is?) and he isnt the presence off the ball defensively Wall is. Also isnt as good a natural PG. I do like him though.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:42pm #189842
Michael.S.ParticipantJUST turned 16
Michael Santonastasio , for-real Itailian0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:42pm #189843
Knicksboy34ParticipantI remember that but are you really gonna put up 32-8-5 next year?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:43pm #189844
HaleParticipantIf you are really that good, I want your autograph man.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:43pm #189845
Knicksboy34Participantdo you live in Brooklyn?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:44pm #189847

0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:45pm #189848
Michael.S.Participantnahhh, i live in the Bronx
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:59pm #189853

0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/24/2009 - 7:03pm #189858
Michael.S.Participanta scholarship, almost lost it cuz of those grades, my name isnt on the internet for B-Ball yet hopefully soon
