llperezi like it. But i think its hard to call yao top 10 right now knowing he’s not supposed to play more then 24 minutes a night for the season. Also, im really not all htat high on rashard lewis. I would take ron artest, rodney stuckey, oj mayo and aaron brooks all over him.

IndianaBasketballParticipantSame here. I’d probably switch a few players around, but solid list.
I don’t know if Yao is a top ten player anymore though. I’d move Dirk up there.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantalso Westbrook is too high and Duncan and Dirk are way too low…Duncan and Dirk are top 10 …
It goes like this in my eyes…
1.Kobe..hands down the best…
2.Wade…he’s the best player on HIS team, named the Captain and Go To guy In MIA
3.Lebron…I know wow LBJ is Number 3 on my list…but he’s not a clucth player like Kobe and he and Wade are equals besides the fact Wade has a ring already…burn…
4.Howard…how is Howard not a lock for top 5
5.Duncan…how is this legendary Big Man not top 5 on your list Iggy, Duncan never finishes lower than 5th in MVP race every year…that means he’s a top 5 player period
6.P.Gasol…Gasol is arguably the most skilled PF in the game…and 2 back to back chips helps his cause
7.Paul or Williams…whoever can be considered the best PG goes here…Paul was injured last year but D will has to prove this year he’s able to over take Paul’s crown…
8.Dirk…name 10 players better than Dirk…yeah I’ll wait…
9.Anthony…Insert Melo here..why…he’s been a top flight scorer and the only real threat to out score Lebron when going head to head for his entire career…Durant is trying to take that over but 1 season doesn’t trump Melo’s career…
10.Durant…People are going to flip when they see Durant this low but he’s not Better than the Players listed above, and I’d want some examples as to why people may think so…

TokenWhiteGuyParticipantI know this won’t be the most popular opinion, but I really don’t care.
I don’t even think Kobe is the best player on his team let alone the league. The only time Kobe was the best player on the lakers was the time after Shaq and before Gasol and in that time the lakers were horrible, missing the playoff once and finishing 7th the other 2 years.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantSolid list..I agree with you on your top 7..After you get pass those guys its debatable who is next…But i’ll have Lebron number 1..becuz he makes his teammates better..But i’d rather have Kobe taking the last shot…
Even though Duncan is getting old..He’s still a top 15 player..
Rashard Lewis is starting to show his age…
And Yao might finish his career as 1 of the most underrated big men..

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipanta healthy KG is top 20 so Iggy’s wrong on that One Too….
Seriously do you even know what the hell your talking about…KG is the key to a Celtic Championship…If he’s healthy the Celtics are the Favorites in the East easily…KG being half hurt was the reason the Celtics have lost in the Finals the last two seasons…he’d be rated higher than most of the player’s on Iggy’s list if he was healthy…I guess you don’t understand a players value to a winning Team …U probally just look at stats and Hollinger’s stupid a.s.s PER…KG was the biggest reason the Celtics became a Legendary Team…Allen helped, Pierce has been there forever and he stepped up when he had too, Rondo was a suprise and Perkins,Powe and Big Baby came up time and time during that Run…KG would be near the top 10 if he was Healthy…KG looks very good early on and if he has another 20/10 year in him and leads the Celtics to the Best record in The East(whick I think he does this year) he’ll be in the MVP talks…

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantYou may have your finger on the College Pulse but when the season comes around I’ll be watching too…and I’ll better predict who’ll be a better NBA player…You can have the College Game and unknown players of the NCAA, I know the NBA like the back of my hand….I don’t look at stats I look at the Game and saying that KG is the 25th best player in the entire NBA is a insult…When Healthy Bosh and Dirk can’t hold Kevin’s jock strap…he’s healthy and they’ll be tipping it off Tonight…I guarantee that Garnett’s impact on the Game is far greater Than Bosh’s…so how does that place Bosh so high on your list and Garnett so low…answer that…I’m challenging your Knowledge…Garnett is Better Than Bosh and it’s been proven already…KG was the Leader of a Championship team…
Like I said you are not my competition….

HaleParticipantBig talk, Scarecrow. Garnett isn’t half the player he used to be, he isn’t even who he was his first year in Boston. If you watched like claim you do so much you would know that. You’re way too ignorant for me to actually argue with you, it’s a no win situation so think what you want.

JNixonParticipantHe was the leader of a championship team 3 years ago, with Rajon Rondo, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen also on his team. RIGHT NOW, Chris Bosh is better than Garnett. The only thing Garnett does better as of now if play D and talk smack/act weird.
And if you think you’re smarter than me, that’s on you. But ask ANYBODY on this site or on planet Earth that has read each of our posts who’s smarter, and see what they’ll say. It’s very easy to say you are smarter than somebody, but it’s a different animal when nobody else agrees. 🙂

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantI dont care if you have people on here fooled because you copy and paste your opinions on college kids like you have time to actually watch all these games and take all these notes…The real scouts of the world do the work and get paid for it…your on here too much to be considered a possible undercover scout, those guys fly all over the country and are too busy to post on a Draft Forum every day faithfully…
So make your little sly statement afterwards like " See, you take things too seriously, or Yeah, your right Scare Crow what ever…"
Garnett has a Ring and has been to the Dance 2 of the last 3 years…winning 1 title while being the heart and soul of that Team…That Intangible is what seperates KG and Bosh…because you are clearly some stat whore or Espn guy and take KG having an off year due to injury as Bosh is better than KG…
KG is a driving force to NBA Glory…Bosh is stat whore who needed his best friends to make him a house hold name…Garnett was no doubt about a top 5 Player in The NBA after his rookie season…Same as Tim Duncan who you also under value because of some unknown reason…
Now make your funny little comment and duck my points…But if I seen you on the streets and You ever disrespected me, I’d break your face…You can have guys from Philly meet me and give you first hand testamony to me being the realist n.i.g.g.a on this site…my love of basketball is what keeps me posting…

You might want to use that "Garnett has a ring, Bosh doesn’t" argument while you can sir. Garnett won a title 3 years ago and Bosh is a better player right now than he is. D.J. Mbenga has 2 rings. By your (retarded) logic, he is a better basketball player than Bosh too.

JNixonParticipantScarecrow you’re really like 27 or however old you said you are and you act like you do? Like really? When I’m 27, I probably will never or hardly ever be on here arguing with kids and acting lame like you do. I would probably be married, have a career dealing with basketball, and doing whatever 27 year old people do.
You on the other hand, are a guy who overrates his own knowledge, conducts their self like they are 10+ years younger than they actually are, and just pretty much doesn’t bring anything but people who laugh at you, not with you, on a forum site. You go from posting retarded trades to stating that I copy and paste scouting reports. If I did copy and paste these reports, don’t you think you’d be able to find them on the internet? I watch games and often when I’m on this site I talk about games as they take place live (maybe you came on this site too late to know that we did that). Just because I am willing to work at doing something I think I have a future in, doesn’t mean that you are "smarter than me" and I just "look at stats". Because it’s quite the contrary.

joecheck88Participanti personally think garnett is better than bosh too. but it might be because i hate bosh. i think bosh is going to act hard all of a sudden because he has lebron and wade. i hate chris bosh. also i didnt like the argument that garnett is an 18 and 8 guy at best. thats on the celtics with multiple options.
maybe its because of the past that i think this way but if i had to choose 1 pf for 1 year of basketball, i would choose duncan, garnett, stoudemire, nowitzki, then bosh. maybe its because the other guys have had better teams. idk, i just feel bosh is extremely overrated. he is an all star caliber player but he just has never struck me as a winner. thats why i choose duncan, garnett, stoudemire and dirk over him. even on good teams, they have carried the load at times during the playoffs.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantBosh on Toronto was a 24-10-1.5 guy. Garnett today is a 18-8 guy at best. Bosh also had TERRIBLE teammates when he played in Toronto. He (Like LeBron) played with no #2 and below average #3 guys.

GrandmamaParticipantRashard Lewis is not a top 50 player right now, Paul Pierce should be lower.
John Wall is better than Brandon Jennings, therefore either Jennings needs to go or Wall needs to be added. If you watched the Milwaukee/Washington pre-season game you know who’s better.
Blake Griffin is better than LaMarcus Aldridge so Aldridge too high. Also David Lee is so much better than Aldridge it’s scary….Lee obviously needs to be higher.

billykParticipantIf I had to pick between the two (Bosh and Garnett) in a playoff series, gemmie Garnett… Stats dont mean nothing when it comes to the playoffs when players have to match up primarily aganist each other (thats how you really know was is the better player: HEAD TO HEAD MATCHUPS).. Bosh is younger than Garnett, so hes got more energy to put up bigger regular season numbers than Garnett…
"Bosh and Garnett are very similar in the ways thier careers are panning out. NOT NUMBERS WISE."
That statement is crazy, when Garnett was in his 8th season he was a BEAST and top 5 NBA player… Also, when Garnett was in his 8th season he had the ability to carry a team to the playoffs and he was on his way to the HOF…

Horrible, horrible way to judge who’s better. Wall hasn’t played a season yet, and there are more than just Jennings he’ll have to outplay for me to chance my mind as of right now.
"Blake Griffin is better than LaMarcus Aldridge so Aldridge too high."
Basing this on the preseason again? Griffin hasn’t played a regular season game yet. Once again, horrible way to judge who’s better.

Both Garnett and Bosh had issues winning. Before the 2002-2003 season, Garnett never won a playoff series. He was seen as "He’s a beast BUT cannot win" then Minnesota added two solid players in Cassell and Spree and Garnett had a MVP season. Chris Bosh was not the passer KG was but he has in his career so far, put the stats together and has not won. That’s what I meant.
Also, Garnett couldn’t win when the series was best of 5. Bosh couldn’t win in the best of 7 series AND Bosh had his best teammate before LeBron? T.J. Ford.

and what does bosh as a number 1 get you? a number 7 seed and a first round exit. kevin garnett is more similar in regards to not winning as lebron, not bosh. kg was arguably the best player in the league(like lebron) but couldnt win. bosh has never been on kgs level as a player and only now when kg is in serious decline is it even close. kg for one season gives you a better chance at a ring than bosh.

JNixonParticipantWatch basketball games and tell me Chris Bosh isn’t better than David Lee. Bosh’s Toronto team was better than the Knicks, and they were largely better because of Bosh. David Lee put up inflated stats for a terrible team. Bosh put up big numbers on a team that JUST barely missed the playoffs. And you have to remember, Bosh has been a 1st option on a playoff team. David Lee? Never even been apart of a playoff team.

JNixonParticipantBecause Artest can defend better, and he has the ability to take the best perimeter players out of their games. Johnson is better in the regular season and sometimes in the playoffs, but Artest’s defense is more valuable in a playoff setting than a guy who has had trouble coming through when it matters most.
Johnson is obviously a better player than Artest though, even though he struggles to come through in the playoffs. Just because you’d take a guy in the playoffs doesn’t mean he’s better. I’d take Kendrick Perkins over Al Horford in a playoff setting too, but Horford is a better overall player than Perkins is.

butidonthavemoneyWhen it comes down to Garnett vs. Bosh, I believe that Garnett is the better player.
"The only thing Garnett does better as of now [is] play D"
Defense is half of basketball. He’s also a better leader and a better passer.
Give me the proven leader over the Batgirl anyday.

billykParticipant@ Yup Yup what does it matter if hes a 6’5 240lb black guy???
@ Iggy, IMO the better basketball player is the player that gives you the best chance in winning… Joe Johnson may have a higher skill level than Artest but, that doesnt make him a better player.. People get to caught up in STATS and often times those are the players than play for teams that dont win… Like you wrote earlier its all about opinion and im just stating by opinion lol…

joecheck88Participantim not saying bosh isnt better than lee because clearly he is. my point was why is the gap between them so large? i dont have the numbers but how many more games did the raps win over the knicks? i dont think it was that many and when stats are brought into the argument, why cant you use them to argue against someone? bosh is very good player but has always come up short.
or you use stats like this, bosh had 24 and 12 last year on a 40 win team. so he is better than garnett who had 17 and 8. well with that logic david lee is better than garnett too.
im not trying to hate, but numbers dont always tell the truth. and every situation is different. kg struggled in the playoffs before the celtics, lebron has struggled in the playoffs. but i think those 2 are a closer comparison than garnett and bosh. bosh is better than lee, numbers wise and talent wise. but dont just use numbers for your argument because they can be used against you too.
basketball isnt logic. you cant just use stats as a barometer. just in my opinion i would rather have garnett over bosh. bosh has better numbers but garnett has better intangibles that dont show up in the numbers.
anyone get what im tryin to say? lol.

Snubs15ParticipantGarnett has lost his explosiveness and is injury prone. Put him in bosh’s situation in Toronto last year and he wouldnt have made as big of an impact in my opinion. Still wouldnt of made the playoffs.
And David Lee is great offensively, but his defense is well below average which is half of the game, thats probly another reason why hes only ranked at 50.

Im Your FatherParticipantFor me the Johnson Artest thing depends on the situation. I doubt JJ can lead a team to a championship, but he has proven he can lead a team to the playoffs as the first option. At this point in his career Artest can’t do that .
If I need a guy to be my main scorer and best player, I’m taking Johnson. If I need a guy who will be a complimentary scorer and an good defender I’m taking Artest.
I would say Johnson is the better overall player because he can lead a team to the playoffs.

midwestbbscoutParticipantYao can’t be that high….I don’t think he’s ever been number 8 even when he was in pristine shape and no injuries….
