lakeshow22Participanthonestly jimmer fredette could of had a similar rookie season to what damian lillard is having now. but everyone knows that the kings have the worst run organization in the league in terms of player development. how do you draft in the top 10 for 5 years in a row and still get no where? 3 of the 5 years they have drafted in the top 5 and are still at the bottom of the west.
everyone knew that jimmer going the the kings and playing with cousins, evans and thornton was the worst possible situation for him.
Just watching jimmer play and watching lillard play they seem to have similar games.

WolfRobParticipantIf lillard was on the kings, he’d still be killing.

Wavy BagelsParticipantJimmer is a casualty of a team that lacks offensive identity. This team is STACKED with a plethora of talent, and when the coaching staff decides how to utilize these players the right way, the players will continue to struggle, including Jimmer.

BasketBalAllanParticipantThe reason Jimmer had a terrible rookie year had much more to do with him not being prepared at all for the NBA than with the team he was on. Jimmer came out last year slow and not willing to play any defense, he could not stay in front of anyone he was supposed to gaurd and slacked off his defensive assignments, he had not developed the ability to create a shot for himself and struggled hitting even open shots, he played like someone coming back from an injury and binge eating. Do not get me wrong, the Kings team has managment issues at every level, but Jimmer did himself no favors.

BasketballJunkie224Participantjimmer is a role player in the nba, lillard is a potential future star

meisi4ParticipantObviously Jimmer landed in one of the worst possible spots for him. But i still think Lillard is better. If Jimmer were as good as him he would have found some more playing time by now. I still think he could be a useful player in the right situation…

JoeWolf1If Jimmer were on the Knicks, he’d be averaging 12 or 13 ppg. He is in a bad spot for his game, but despite his limited minutes, he’s finding his shot as an NBA player. He’s shooting 42% from 3 point range and half of the games he’s played more than 10 minutes, he’s hit two or more from downtown.

Meditated StatesParticipantBut I like Jimmer on the offensive end. Playing with Reke kills him. Playing with that particular squad is a career killer. I wish they would deal him already. Stop slowing his career. He can be a lot more effective than he has been allowed to show, but not on Lillards level. Lillard is surprising to me I have to admit I did not know much about him. His shooting is very impressive. Very athletic too. Jason Terry gave Damian lot if problems though the other night

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantThe problem with the Kings is far beyond any one or two players. Offensively, they are a selfish team. They are last in the NBA in their field goals being assisted, and have been for a number of years. Defensively, they are among the worst teams in the league in any metric you want to cite (Pts, Pts in the pain, FTs, PtsPer100Poss, etc), and also 29th in defensive rebounding rate (which is the one thing I would have thought Thomas Robinson would have helped with). That makes you a bad team. It speaks to the dysfunction that permeates the terrible teams of the league, and goes beyond the individuals and individual numbers.

PureshooterParticipantFredette is Eddie House 2.0 IMO. He’ll stay in the league if he wants to, but he’ll never be more than a solid 6th man.
0- Posted on: Mon, 12/03/2012 - 8:00am #731392
BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantIf Fredette is only getting assisted on 41.9% of his makes (Eddie House was assisted on 85.9 in 2011, 76.9 in 2010, 80.3% in 2009, 75.6% in 2008, and 90.6% in 2007) then how do you think Jimmer is getting his baskets similarly to Eddie?
And by the way, Jimmer was only being assisted on 47.1% last year.

TallmanNYCParticipantYeah but that was on the Kings. No one but Jimmer can pass on that team. On a regular NBA team Jimmer would get assisted a lot more.
But yes Jimmer can create off the dribble in ways that House would never try.

Meditated StatesParticipantFredette can. They are different. Not saying Jimmer is a star but I don’t see Eddue House. House had absolutely no handles @ Pureshooter

OfficialIs it me or they don’t use jimmer’s catch and shoot game enough? He tries to create to much like a PG, he should play the catch and shoot almost like Eddie House imo…. but doesnt

ilike.panochasParticipantI think he can atleast be at Ben Gordon level if placed in the right situation.

chrsw003ParticipantIm a big Jimmer fan and think they are using him wrong. Personally I think they should let him be a 6th man type instead of a pg. Especially on a team with a bad bench let him be a ben gordon, jamal crawford type and just look to put up points. I wouldnt mind seeing him on the lakers haha.
