marcusfizer21ParticipantWOW… Just when I thought the Harvard guy will never be more than a 12th man off the bench… He goes up and lights up the Nets for 25… Games like these will boost confidence to any player… I hope this could be Lin’s opportunity to show us what he can do… Awesome game from him…

sheltwon3ParticipantLin is nice but let’s be real here, he is their only healthy point guard and this shows you that he they can get a decent to good point guard, they can be a dangerous team.
I am happy for Jeremy and hope that he continues to play well because I doubt Baron Davis will hold up this year.

LoLerScholarParticipantI personally think the Knicks would be better served by giving Lin the majority of minutes at the PG spot.
Would you guys agree that Lin has better point guard skills than Toney Douglas?
Not so sure how Lin is defensively. He was always known for getting a lot of steals, but how would you guys evaluate him as a one-one-one defender?

sheltwon3ParticipantI agree that he is their only healthy point guard and Douglas is not a point guard to me and with Shumpert there, Douglas should be traded to a team that has a bk point guard that could be a starter. Bobcats, Denver,Clippers, Cleveland,Toronto(to some degree),and few others have this. I am sure Knicks have enough to make a package. Picking up Bibby and Baron Davis have turned out to be terrible moves. Bibby,Douglas, and possibly a draft pick should be moved to get a starting caliber point guard
They may not need to trade all but at least part of that of all of it to get the player they need.
JR Smith would probably choose New York to audition himself instead of Lakers where their offense is not greatly structured and is more about Kobe. I think he will get more shots in New York but if he comes off the bench he could get a lot of shots in Laker town but I just don’t know. Mike Brown is not an offensive coach like Mike D and Mike D loves shooters.
I think Lin has earned starter status until Baron is healthy.

Ny2daDeathOFmeParticipanthow upset i was when dantoni didnt let lin come back in the game vs the celtics the other day. like seriously lin is a difference maker he slashes very well and he’s crafty, with sneaky speed. he is better then ya boy tony din almost every thing. if he doesnt start he atleast needs to be the first guard off the bench simplely because our offense runs so much better with him in and douglis out. our offense gets to stagnet with tony so im definitely voting for my asian brother to get those minutes.

PabloFiascoParticipantIts about time somebody gives this guy some minutes he can compete in the NBA. Why the Warriors and Houston didn’t play him is beyond me but he makes a good back up for now. if I’m the Knicks I’d trade Toney Douglas obviously they didn’t have faith in him by drafting Iman Shumpert w/ their first round pick and signing every PG they can get their hands on. Set that man free and unleash the JLin

Tongue-Out-Like-23Participant"Why the Warriors and Houston didn’t play him is beyond me"
The Warriors were already stacked at that position with Bell and Curry which means they would rather play experienced or skill guys than experience with Lin. Not to mention, Lin averaged 10 minutes a game for about 30 games and averaged under 3ppg and about an assist per game all while shooting 38% from the field. So when he did play, he wasn’t doing much. Why didn’t he play on the Rockets?
We already have Kyle Lowry, Goran Dragic, and Jonny Flynn. All three are quality point guards, Jonny Flynn to some extent. It would be foolish of us to grab another point guard when we have glaring weaknesses at other positions. We’re not the Wolves. We don’t need 4 point guards. To be honest, I’m not sure if he’s that good. I think you guys are overrating him because of one good game. The Knicks want to be a playoff-team and have the front-court to be vying for the ECF. They’re struggling but the talent is there. I don’t believe Jeremy Lin is a starter on a playoff team.
One thing is forsure though, Toney Douglas and Iman Shumpert have proven they can score, defend, rebound and assist. These two guys need to be kept because they’re young and they’re only going to get better. These two guys are gems that were found by the Knicks and if they get rid of them, I can assure you that they will shine elsewhere.

Meditated StatesParticipantThe kid can get to the rim despite being short. He has good speed and good handle. He just needs minutes.

Toney Douglas sucks man. He’s terrible. He doesn’t have a point guard mindset, making him a small shooting guard. As good as Douglas is, he’s pretty much a bench guy like Jannero Pargo. He’s better then Pargo, but not by much. Iman Shumpert is not a point guard, he’s a shooting guard who could pass. He’s alot like Larry Hughes to me.

NYCrealdealParticipanti hope we dont trade douglass. to me he is a glue guy. who was the first off the bench to celebrate his fellow knicks best game…the same knick who looks like hell be taking his job…yeah it was TD. and iman is a rookie but will grow into atleast a very capable starting pg who can shut down talented offensive players and slow down stars. his court vision and anticipacion will only get better as time goes on.
As far as Jlin goes he played great, but its one game. hes been looking solid in garbage minutes and looked good yesterday aswell. hope he can get to the rim like this every game, it would help our offense so much because it opens up the floor for everyone because hes looking to pass out of the drive if help defense comes.
jeffries and chandler had great games last night.
i want to see a lot of td and lin together of the bench. i think them at the 1and2 will help td get his confidence back.
this was against the nets so i want to see lin play against some better teams but he should be in the rotation.
Now can we get some Jerome Jordan please.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantNever in my post, at all, did I say Douglas was a PG nor that Shumpert was a PG. All I’m saying is they’re very good players that the Knicks should hold on to.

PulseGlazerParticipantI like Lin, but fail to see either he or Baron as the answer. I think the easiest guy to get would be Luke Ridnour. How does Shumpert for Luke and the Houston pick work for each side? If I were either squad, I’d do that deal in a heart-beat.

Ghost01ParticipantI wouldn’t say this team can be dangerous with a good PG because they beat the Nets. The Nets are horrible. But my favorite comment of this thread is this:
The Warriors were already stacked at that position with Bell and Curry
Charlie Bell and stacked being in the same sentence? LMFAO
