24pts,11ast,5rebs,2to’s,9-16 from the floor tonight and the Hawks pick up the win against the Pistons.

As I said before, not that I think he could average those numbers, but I do really believe if he played with the confidence that he played with tonight and just was aggressive everytime down the floor, he’d be a 18 PPG, 6APG and 2-4 RPG type guy.

It’s not like he’s shot hungry as he only shoots 10 shots per game,I understand he has more talent around him now than he did at Wake where he was a scoring machine, but at the same time I think he is toooo passive and defers too much to Joe Johnson and Josh Smith.

Anytime Teague is aggressive like this tho, the Hawks are a better team.

I think Teague just picks his moments to be aggressive, if he has an advantage over the opposition point like he did tonight then he’ll go at them, otherwise he defers. Same can be said of Teague against the Bulls, he knew Rose isn’t a stellar defender so he played aggressive and it worked for the most part.

I agree, but I think he should play agressive whether it’s DJ Augustin or Rajon Rondo, I don’t think anyone can stop him from doing what he wants to do when his confidence is high, but then again the same could be said for a few other players in the League.

It’s just that the ways he used to create his shots at Wake, I know it can translate to the NBA, he doesn’t play nearly as aggressive nor confident as he did at Wake, even when he’s playing good, he never brings out the full arsenal, he can really create his own shot and his handles are sick.

Jeff Teague is such an enigma at this point in his career, he’s on a perrennial playoff team, he has the skills and athleticism to be an allstar, he just hasn’t put it together consisently every night. Everything in his game shows that he has Tony Parker type potential and can be a difference maker on both ends of the floor, I really just think that Joe Johnson has stumped the growth of him. At least with Smoove and Horford if you throw them the ball in the post they find the open man, and at least they let Teague penetrate to then hit them, but Joe Johnson is such a ball stopper. Sure he scores, but he basically just dribbles it out every time to try to pull up with a mid range jumper. If Joe would just play his role and play defense and hit open jumpers he would be just as effective but more efficient because Teague should be running show and creating for others. When Teague doesn’t produce it isn’t necessarily that he’s looking bad out there, he just isn’t doing enough and a lot of that has to do with how Joe has stunted his growth and changed his mind set.

But at the same time Joe Johnson has came out numerous times and said for the Hawks to be as succesful as they can be, Teague needs to be aggressive and not defer to him and Josh.

While Josh has said Teague needs to pass the ball more, which has to bring his confidence level down, and it makes it no better when Josh tries to push the ball while Teague is out there.
