     Needs to leave ATL!

Is pretty obvious that he’s not going to flourish there.

His minutes have dropped since Hinrich has returned and even though Teague has been in a slump I feel his confidence is shaken, and he’s still getting mixed signals from LD(Who needs to be fired).

Jeff wants to have freedom I know he does, after he plays Rose, Wall, even Lin last night he talks about their FREEDOM as a PG and how it’s so tough to guard them because they run everything through that team’s PG and have the ability to pass or score. Jeff still seems to be treated like a rookie in regards to getting respect from his coach, almost every game he is the first one pulled out for Kirk, are you kidding me? Jeff should be playing 36-40 minutes with Joe out and running non stop Pick and rolls with Zaza or Josh, but instead almost everytime he gets past halfcourt he has to give it up to run a play that will end up being a worse shot.

His floater is much improved, he’s shooting very good from deep, he can drive past anyone one on one, so why isn’t he playing upper 30’s for minutes idk.

Exactly it makes me mad for him, he is super quick, explosive and off pick and rolls he would have a field day against any team, because he can attack the rim or shoot.

I don’t get the system the Hawks run, and Josh Smith also annoys me when him and Jeff are in the game and he tries to be the point guard, LIKE GIVE UP THE BALL JOSH, you are good but you not no damn Lebron, not even close never will be close to Lebron.

yeah Im sorry for you Atlanta fans but IMO I think there team will always be stuck in the middle….They dont have a true identity ,they overpayed Joe Johnson which will kill them in the future, and some players dont exactly have a true position (Josh Smith,Al Horford)

And Jeff Teagues contract is gonna end in 2 years and if this team isnt a legit title contender and I’m talking about at least 3rd or 4th behind the Heat and Bulls ,Im leaving if Im Jeff Teague becuase things arent going to get any better because Al Horford ,Josh Smith and Teague will be in there prime and if there not a top team with those 3 guys in there prime there not going to get better because there not going to get any good draft picks and Joe Johnson contract will prevent them from getting any other good players so there basically screwed

If you watched this dude at Wake Forest, not highlights actual games his sophomore year, you would understand the frustration, he can play wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than what he’s showing, i;m not saying he’s and NBA All-Star, but he could be averaging something like 18points,6assist,3boards a game right now if in the right system.

Teague would be better served to help the Hawks as a 6th man like Louis Williams or Jamal Crawford.

To the person that negged me, so you don’t think those numbers are realistic for Teague?

A scoring Teague would actually be better for Atlanta believe it or not, aggressive Teague actually helps ATL win games, go look at his stats, when Teague is aggressive and scores 12 points or more or has 5 assist or more the Hawks are 18-8.

Teague is not a pure PG, never will be, but dude can create for others when needed and can score, Joe Johnson tells him to be more aggressive, but Ball hog, can’t shoot or dribble AKA Josh Smith tell’s him to pass more, Teague needs to play his game which is score and dish when the opportunity presents itself in that order, the stats don’t lie look at Teague’s stats when he’s aggressive ATL wins and is a whole lot better team.

Not saying Teague is the best player on the team, but he makes the team go.

im with you dave. he needs to be given a big green light, specially on the break. he needs to push the tempo anytime he can. he was a beast least year in the chi-atl series. like you said, he is not a pass first point guard but they insist in making him one

Great point, i remember watching the Hawks and Bulls game the other day and Teague got the ball in transition and looked scared to push it full throttle, i was like man he needs to get outta there, that’s where he’s most deadly in transition, and he was tentative to push the ball.

I’m a big Hawks fan, and I agree with almost everything said. I think Teague put up something like 16 ppg and 8 apg in the playoff series against the Bulls last season. He has the potential to be really good.

Larry Drew claims to run a motion offense, but there is little motion or ball movement. Its still a lot of isolations for Joe and Josh. I Think Drew should be fired.

We overpaid for Joe, but we had to unless we wanted to be at the bottem again. We are stuck in the middle. Too good to get a lottery pick, but not good enough to make a significant playoff push. During the lockout I heard rumors we were going to deal Josh for draft picks, which I would like. This upcoming draft will be a pretty good one. Josh is a uber talented player, but he has a low basketball IQ, and will never put it all together. He could be a Blake Griffin type player, but he settles for 3’s and long 2’s more often than not. He also has the talent to be a lockdown defender, but he tends to float around on D to get blocks.

Personally I don’t think we need to blow up the team. I think we just need to trade Josh, fire Drew, and speed up the tempo. I think we are like the 4th slowest team in the league.

If we were to trade Josh and move Al Horford to PF, which is his more natural position, than I think Horford would flourish and we could get some nice compensation for Josh.

    Thoughts?
