UNCbasketballbumParticipant21 points, 14 rebounds in 33 minutes last night in LA. I dunno what Karl has told him, but Mcgee has been ballin recently.

SpacegrassParticipantKid has talent and needs direction , good direction. George Karl is a good coach for that and plus he is in a great system for his abilities. Plus Ty Lawson and Andre Miller are actual point guards not just athletes who play point guard like John Wall.

sheltwon3ParticipantHe just made himself a whole bunch of money. Denver may not be able to keep him.

JoeWolf1He’s definately in a better situation, but I’ve always felt inconsistancy has been his biggest obstacle ( and what appears to be ADD, lol). Even back to his rookie year.
He’s one of the longest players I can ever remember seeing on the court and a fluid athlete as well. I don’t think he’ll ever be a top 5 center, but with work and a re booted attitude I could see him being top 10.

TyroberParticipantHe looked unstoppable at times. If he knows whats good for him he will stay in Denver with George Karl.

JunkYardDogParticipantI’m always very wary with centers playing great 3 months before becoming FA… especially from players who showed immaturity in the past (to stay polite).
If he stayed in denver, I would be surprised… I fear he chooses money over sports criteria.

NiceWithTheRockParticipantMcGee killed the Lakers last night. Alley oops, driving to the rim, those sweeping hook shots, and that oh so sexy finger roll over Andrew Bynum. I was like this can’t be Javale "miss in-game dunk from freethrow line, couldn’t get post position on Isiah Thomas" McGee

HotSnotParticipantJavale McGee reminds me of an expected top overall pick in this years draft…. only Davis doesn’t appear to make the same bone head mistakes. To McGee’s credit he has minimized them since starting to play under George Karl, but a couple of months doesn’t wipe away years of knucklehead deeds.

Chilbert arenasParticipantJavale played great but let’s not overract here, Andre Miller should get some credit for making him look much better than we’re used to

Meditated StatesParticipantScratching the surface. Has consistently gotten better every year.

bobbybParticipantjust like Barkley said" player development" I always said that Denver had the most underrated Backcourt in the NBA. So many of those plays were because of Andre Miller. I remember when Blzers played then Suns a couple of years in the playoffs, they needed Grant Hill to shut him down because Nash and J Rich couldnt hang with Miller

Ghost01ParticipantI’m kind of surprised Nick Young and especially Javele are doing so well. I mean, we all know Washington was an awful situation that was poorly coached. But Young has found his niche as instant offense off the bench, and Javele is really evolving in Denver. That trade may go down as a rare "Great for both teams" variety.

joecheck88ParticipantIt is simple really with young and McGee. They are now on veteran ball clubs with success. Isn’t it amazing what your surroundings can do for you. If you’re on a team full of knuckleheads, it’s easy to be one and fit in. When you are a knucklehead on a good team and you cost them games with boneheaded mistakes, you will hear about it.

Thomas C.K.ParticipantPeople need to keep in mind that it was just one great game for Javale McGee. What had Javale McGee done in this series before last night’s game?? Remember, J.McGee was 1st or 2nd in blocks per game and averaging 8 or 9 rebounds per game with the Wizards. He was a very productive player in Washington. Charles Barkley and the TNT crew just wanted to CLOWN the Wizards, they weren’t really being factual. J.McGee and Nick Young are guys who can put up numbers on bad teams, but on playoff caliber teams, they are probably just complimentary parts. The Knuckle-Head factor will NEVER leave either one of them!!

joecheck88ParticipantI disagree with the statement that their knucklehead status will stay with them forever. Nick Young was huge in the game 1 comeback and has been making a decent effort on defense in this series. Admittedly I haven’t seen much of Javale since the trade but in the little I have seen him, he has looked a lot more business like on the court. The inconsistency will still be there for a bit but if he keeps his current mindset, he could be a great starting C in this league.

aamir543ParticipantIt was one great game, he’s had games like these with the Wiz, and he’ll continue to have them with the Nuggets, but he needs to be more consistent, but there is definatly somthing different about eh way he played, and obviously who it was against, he’ll need to have a another solid game if the Nuggets want to send the series back to LA, but as much as I love the Nuggets, and I even predicted that they’d win the series in 6, there’s a reason I predicted they’d win it in 6 and not 7. Kobe comes out and plays every game like it’s game 7, but for some reason I don’t see Kobe losing a game 7 on his own court, but I hope the Nuggets continue tot play well, this has been the best series thus far, and any series with the Nuggets would be exciting to watch.

surveParticipantI am totally with you guys….while these guys are playing better, its because their surroundings are much better. Experienced veteran coaches, experienced PG’s, more help, better offensive and defensive structure, etc…etc…etc….
Washington has some talent on their team but they are simply too young…..there is not much room for any young player to succeed there until they get better players and more experience.
They can shake the knucklehead tag, but you guys have to remember the biggest problem all of these guys have is, that they are young as heck. I am sure some of you remember playing ball on a certain level and when you played with guys your own age, you played youthful but reckless and without structure…when you played with the men who knew how to play, you played with more restraint and more cerebral because you knew you didnt want to be the weak link in addition to being the "kid".

surveParticipanttrue, he has put together games like this before, however, he is more in the spotlight now in a high profile playoff series. he has to be more responsible now. he is more accountable now. you dont have any accountability playing for a team as bad as the Wizards. you can make boneheaded play after boneheaded play if you like. you can be a chucker supreme if thats what you chose. playing for a contender is different. McGee was the 3rd string center for Denver basically and if he doesnt play consistently Karl will have no problem keeping him 3rd string. he is being held accountable now, therefore, if he wants to play big minutes and eventually move into the starting lineup, he has to be consistently better and at least not "consistently inconsistent" as he has been throughout his career.
