Every one is saying UK is the leader, but I like the Orange to win this one. Young would probably come off the bench for UK if they get Wiggins in 2013 which is a very realistic possibility. As a top 5 player in the country he could get major playing time at literally every other school and still have a good shot at a championship with Cuse.

For whatever it’s worth, 247 lists Kentucky as the favorite, with Syracuse in 2nd and MSU in a distant 3rd.

I hope he comes to Syracuse, but I feel that he will likely go to Kentucky. Sources close to him said that he was down to UK and Cuse two weeks ago, but he denied these rumors. So the only question is if the sources were telling the truth or if he is.

He has great length and would be a perfect fit in the zone, but then again, he’d probably be a great fit at whatever school he chooses. Hopefully the Harrison twins made him shy away from UK.

Just for comparison, previous ESPN #5 ranked prospects have included: Bradley Beal, Josh Selby, John Wall, B.J. Mullens, and Derrick Rose. That’s an elite group, and I don’t think many #5 prospects want to come off the bench in their freshmen season, so that may give SU, MSU, and KU a shot.

I doubt if he commits to Kentucky he’ll come off the bench.  Calipari makes his promises to recruits and he usually keeps them.  The only way I could see him coming off the bench is if for some reason, a kid like Archie Goodwin comes back for his Sophomore year. I don’t see why he wouldn’t be able to play alongside the Harrisons.

IIRC James Young has only taken one official visit…and its to Kentucky.

However since he announced his decision date so soon after the Harrison Twins deciding that might mean that he knows he doesn’t want to play second fiddle to the Twins…

Hoping Syracuse can pull this one out.

Hmmmm let’s see. Young had one visit which one UK. He also has had one income visit which was Calipari. Never visited Syracuse of MS. Also never had a in home visit with either. James Young has already known the Twins were going to UK since Cal told him. On top of that Young said he would love if UK had a class of him Wiggins the twins and Randle.. Scout.com and ESPN recruit Dave Telep both said they are certain that Young is a lock, scout said they would be 100 per ent surprised if he picked anywhere else. Hmmmm looks like the writing is clearly on the wall with this one

I really can’t see UK sending its starting 5 to the league this year personally but Ive been wrong before. As a 1-2-3 combo they dont seem that scary to me (imo).  Saying that its remiscent of some of Cals past Memphis squads.

On another note I keep seeing guys having Randle going to Kentucky- Is this the case? the most I heard was some WWW rumour.

I hope he enjoys his 15mins per game at UK rather than his 30+ at any other school of his choosing

Why would he only get 15 minutes a game?

Think that is going overboard, providence. Young can play either wing spot and even if Wiggins manages to change classes and grabs a spot, I think that Young would still manage to get minutes. The assumption has to be that Kentucky is going to lose 4 players next year to the Draft in Nerlens Noel, Ryan Harrow, Alex Poythress and Archie Goodwin. With Julius Mays graduating, that pretty much knocks out their stable of guards and wings getting minutes.

My guess is that while Young could play more minutes at another program, he will get enough at Kentucky. Plus, can you imagine getting to go up against the Harrison’s and potentially Wiggin’s in practice? Seems like Kentucky will more than likely have time for James and a spot for him. They will more than likely bring back a couple bigs in Wiltjer/Cauley-Stein, heck would not be surprised if Wiggins saw time at the 4 if he joined the squad, that team would run people off of the floor.

If James Young is going to Kentucky as a Top 5-10 player in his recruiting class, their will be minutes for him. Kentucky usually has a 6-7 man rotation, no one in the top 6 players last year played fewer than 26 mpg. While James Young’s NBA position may overlap with some players Kentucky has or is likely to land, think that he is a versatile enough, along with his fellow recruits, to log a lot of minutes. Not to mention be a part of a team that wins a lot of games, which never hurts if you play a nice role in doing so.

Wiggins, Randle, Young and the Harrison twins would be a downright insane class. Obviously no telling if it will happen or it not, but if it did, wow. The possbility of that as well keeping guys like Cauley, Wiltjer and maybe one of Harrow or Goodwin could be even better then last years team.

Really more interested in gaining a mutual understanding rather than just downright hostility. I mean, all of the good insults you have used have been ones I have seen before. The ones like "agree with a rash" are just nonsense, but they make you seem like a well good bloke. You literally are the most disagreeable person I know, hope your life is alright man. Not mad at you, feel bad for you and have no real way to help. Sorry.

Young is due to make his decision any minute now, but I’m just wondering now if Young commits to UK, if it will have any effect on Wiggins reclassifying. Young will already most likely be a SG/SF so I don’t know if Wiggins would want to have to split time at SF with Young. I’m sure Wiggins would be fine with it, since he would play over Young, but Young also has to consider the possibility of Wiggins reclassifiying because Young would be the the #2 SG/ #2 SF on the roster.
