RMolloy24ParticipantTwo pretty similar players. Both known for hustle, defense and their elite athleticism. Would love if the Celtics could pick him up in the Draft with the 16th pick.

The QParticipantI’m a big franklin fan, but not sure he’s a Jimmy Butler type.
Butler had one really good 3pt shooting year at Marquette as a Jr. and then fell off a cliff his sr. year.
I soured on him a bit after that, and it was a mistake. But Franklin just has never shown that kind of shooting ability.
all that said, I’d still take Franklin at 16 because I don’t think you’ll see better value there unless something crazy and unexpected happens. But considering the draft we’re looking at, crazy and unexpected should be the unexpected.
My pick for the next Jimmy Butler is Reggie Bullock.
And I honestly would have few qualms selecting him at 16 except that it’s very likely I could get him 10 picks later.

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantI Think he’s a less talented Kahwi Leonard, his best fit is to go later and drop to a contender like Memphis and replicate what Tony Allen brought to the table…

Chilbert arenasParticipantJust like Jimmy Butler I think Franklins success depends on where he lands, besides that I don’t see too many similarities in their game. I think Franklin has better handles than Butler, and Butler has much better shot selection. Both are above averaged athletes and are great competitors, but have opposite personalities on the court.

SiggyParticipantNo. Butler plays smart, is under control at all times, plays more of a strength game and was/is very efficient. Franklin is wild, unpredictable, inefficient with a low IQ.
Butler’s really good defensively despite having mediocre length because he’s strong, fundamentally sound and is always on balance. Franklin’s more of a gambler on defense, relying on his aggressiveness and length to be disruptive.0 - Posted on: Tue, 05/28/2013 - 7:40am #785106

sportspolymathParticipantHe does a little bit of everything and is a proven winner. Guys like this provide excellent value, because jump shooting always gets better at the next level, or usually does. I like him in the top 20.
