Any Magic fans out there know why Vaughn is close to being fired? I understand Orlando has been pretty bad since hes been there but what did they expect? Has he lost the locker room? Are they upset at the development of their young players? I dont really understand what he has done to get fired.

As a fan whose been invested in Orlando post-Dwight, it’s time for Jacque to go. I don’t like to advocate anybody losing their job that actually tries/cares, but he’s simply not the right guy to lead this group. Here’s a few reasons why:

Lately he’s bringing Tobias Harris off the bench the past 5 games. Why? To give the second unit more scoring? That’s a bunch of b.s because Harris has provided something that Orlando desperately needs in the starting 5… SPACING! He’s shooting a career high 38.5% from distance, and over 41% when Elfrid Payton is in the lineup with him! Orlando has to be the worst scoring 1st quarter team in the league since this move.

Second, he’s playing Willie Freaking Green over Maurice Harkless. Why? Harkless may not be the next Paul George or KD, but the kid has talent and is a potential stud on D. He plays into Orlando’s future identity as a team built to run in transition & create some chaos on the defensive end. He needs minutes for Orlando to truly evaluate him, or at the very very least gain some trade value.

Third, Channing Frye is being completely misused. While with Phoenix last season, Channing Frye provided 8.3 more points per 100 possessions while on the floor. This year? Minus 2.6 points per 100 possessions via basketball reference while shooting the same percentage from three. Some games he starts, others he’s brought in as a reserve. That’s got to tick him off as he’s their 2nd highest paid player & I’m sure was given a ‘wink-wink’ starters guarantee upon signing with a rebuilding team.

Orlando needs a coach that can get the most out of this team defensively, help develop Oladipo into a top 5 shooting guard, and provide an offensive scheme that allows Frye to provide more spacing when Payton, Aaron Gordon, and Oladipo are on the floor.

I personally believe GM Rob Hennigan has done a good job assembling young talent & positioning this roster for future success. Do others agree?

When you see them play it’s pretty clear that something’ wrong. I’m not saying they should be in the playoffs, butman even Philadelphia and Minny are starting to show more improvements than them. It looks like some of the young players don’t improve because there’s basically no system played. Their season is a series of one man shows,Fournier at the beginning of the year, then Vucevic, then Tobias Harris which from time to time leads them to an upset victory. There’s no continuity, and it seems like they’re doing the same mistake Utah did last year(Or Corbin did). Play veterans because the young guys don’t deserve to play. I agree with thee fact that you play your best players, but it’s the coaches and assistant coaches job to actually develop their young players, and put a system in place where their will be confortable. Payton,Oladipo,Fournier,T.Harris,Vucevic,A.Gordon,that’s some great young talent to develop.
