Both are eerily similar in terms of skill set and style. Both are accomplished college players, big time scorers, with some PG skills. Who do you think has a better shot at making it in the league? IMO Pullen is slightly a better shooter although not by much. Delaney though is a few inches taller and has a bit better PG skills.

That is just disrespecting Pullen. Delaney is a ballhog and chucker. he’s got nothing on Pullen.

I’d go with Pullen as well. He may not have the size to defend NBA point guards but his great coaching from Frank Martin, Pullen’s intensity and clutchness puts him head and shoulders above Delaney in my book.

And I just tried to look up Delaney stats on ESPN and I couldn’t find him. This site says he is a senior at VCU but I just looked at that roster and I can’t find him. Where is he. I want to see how good he is. I don’t follow college basketball that much except for tourney time.

Pullen is better to me, Delaney is a chucker who has no PG skills and plays bad D. Pullen isn’t the best prospect to me, but he was prolific for us and he’s better than Delaney. They played head-to-head this year, and I think Pullen outplayed him even though he was hampered by foul trouble.

"Delaney though is a few inches taller and has a bit better PG skills."’

Delaney is about an inche taller, and even though Pullen isn’t a true PG he’s a better floor general and PG than Delaney is. They also don’t play that similar at all. Delaney plays more like Denis Clemente did than Pullen.

He’s a combo guard from Virginia Tech.

I’ve been covering [Player: Malcolm Delaney] for the site all year. He’s a better shooter and passer than Pullen, but Pullen is the more talented scorer. Neither are particularly efficient, and while both are solid defensive players at this level, that won’t translate.

    Neither are NBA players.

Some of you are off base telling me that Delaney can’t be compared to Pullen because he’s just a chucker and ball hog. Delaney is 41.5% from the field, 40.5% from the 3 point line, 85% from the charity stripe. Pullen is 41.8% from the field, 36% from the 3 point line, 77% from the charity stripe. To act like Delaney is less efficient is a completely wrong. Delaney also averages more assists a game and less turnovers a game. Delaney has led Vatech to some good seasons with a lot less talent than Kstate and Pullen has had.

Now it works. Thanks Swanson. I was having trouble with Delaney’s stats link on this site. Just got it work by clicking on your link. Thanks for the help, but I still think Pullen just because of his intensity is head and shoulders above Delaney.

I do believe however that because of Pullen’s intensity, he will make it in the NBA. Maybe not as a draft pick but most definitely a call up from the D-league. As for Delaney, who knows, so yeah I agree with you there but not with Pullen.

stats don’t always tell the story, if you watch a k-state game and a v tech game you can tell delaney is a gunner and pullen is just a hell of a player

Again what are you basing this off of? You say stats don’t tell the story, yes they do. Pullen has taken 30 more shots than Delaney in the same number of games, Delaney has more assists as well. I have a feeling you haven’t seen much Delaney.

pullens defense is really underrated aspect of his game. he held wisconsin guard to 2-16 shooting. i dont think he would have trouble on the defense end in the NBA.
