I just watched highlights of him on Youtube and my jaw is to the floor.  Does anyone live in the Chicago area that has seen him play?  The guys game is Kevin Durant esque except Jabari is already 220+ lbs.  Again this is off of highlights, so I want to know from those who have seen him first hand if he is as good as the highlights suggest.  Guys at his height shouldn’t be able to handle the ball like him.  He was crossing defenders up and popping 3’s in their face.  He looks absoulutely SCARY.

Somebody help me!  Would be something if he went to BYU huh?

I think we all waiting for him to go to college to talk about him again…  Trust me EVERYONE is high on him…  Its been at least a thousand threads about the kid…  Truth be told at that age he’s better than any player that came out that Chicago area…  IMO…  This includes KG, D. Rose, D. Wade, and Anthony Davis…

@tuck I’ve heard there were some questions about his athleticism and drive to take over games? Can you give any insight into this.

He sounds a lot like Barnes in high school, really mature kid, not great athletically but strong with great length for his position. The handles are something that Barnes didn’t have though.

Yes…   I can agree he lacked the foot speed to be able to get his shot off…  And Drive???  IDK about that one he’s always been the type to bring it…  Maybe his demeanor sometimes make it seem like that but trust me its not the case…

I created a post about him last year claiming he’s the best prospect I’ve seen in a long time…  Like since LeBron…  Then I want to say this January I created another one…  This dude have improved dramatically over the summer…  He added a post game, gotten stronger, athletic now…  His first step is fast as ish for his position…  I think he’s a better athlete than what this website says…  At least a 9…  His jumper have improved…  He has the ball on a string…  It’s really no way to stop this kid…  He can just take over games whenever he wants…  The best part is he only take good shots because he creates so much separtion from his crossover, first step, step back, or post game…  And if he’s not hitting shots he will take you in the post…  I mean imagine putting a 99 player in 2k he’s doing everything right???  Well that’s what Jabari reminds me of while he playing against HS kids…  I can’t wait to see how much he will improve next year when he’s a Senior… SMH dude is a beast…

Barnes don’t have this kid’s post game, handles, or first step…  Shot selection is better with Jabari too…  Not to mention being able to pass the rock…

Plus Harrison takes forever to create his shot like LeBron does…  LeBron can get away with that because he’s so fast and strong…  Something Barnes isn’t…  Which I think is one of Barnes issues, he doesn’t have that scoring mentallity sometimes…  While Jabari will go at you quick like Kevin Durant…  Also that will make up for any lack of athletic ability… Something Melo used to do…   But I think Jabari is much quicker than Melo, PP, and Barnes is anyway…

Jabari is super good. and he is still 16 years old. Has a low and solid dribble and a mean pull up game and also can baby smaller defenders in the post. He is years ahead. and since when does a 16 year olds athleticism stay the same. He will get more athletic.

I think he is a very similar prospect to Carmelo at the same age.

Very very good player, he’s 17 not 16.  One of the most athletes, skilled players to come out of Chi in a very long time. Not the best ever though. That still belongs to Benji Wilson who could do all that Parker does but with better handles and more athletic

His AAU team was playing today and I heard he dropped some lbs and looked significantly quicker. He’s never going to be an elite athlete, though. Kid is so polished and he does have NBA size.

I love Parker’s game, but I’m not ready to call him the best to come out of Chicago just yet. Rose was an absolute beast at Simeon…..

Best player in the country out of every HS player that played this year jrs and seniors, reminds me so much of a young Carmelo Anthony, he will be a sure top 3 pick when ever he enters the draft

Athletically he reminds me of James mcadoo. In high school mcadoo played on the perimeter a lot but doesn’t doesn’t have the handles or the jump shot that parker does.

I think you can pretty much lock up that is he going to Kentucky, following the same path as Derrick Rose (same highschool) and Anthony Davis did as two former Chicago prospects and go play for Calipari.

he’s a beast, but a 9 athlete? Come on man, not even close…i think an 8 is pretty generous

Wow everyone hit on his offensive game and athletiscism, but nobody mentioned the kids all around game? He’s very very unselfish for a kid his age, who always makes his team mates better and should devlop into a very solid rebounder. He has always reminded me of a young Grant Hill because of the way he plays the game, and should also carry around a very high character as grant does as well when he does enter the league.

The guy looks a great prospect but he’s still two years away from being draft eligible, his next major move is choosing the right college to give is skillset the right platform. I haven’t seen a huge amount of clips of him as I’m based in the UK, but I’m looking forward to seeing more of him. He seems like he is a fairly level headed kid which combined with his skillset should give him a good grounding going forward.

Duke and MSU are leading for his recruitment…reminds me a lot of Grant Hill except not as athletic but with a better shot.

I can’t get enough of watching this kid, wow.  There is literally no flaw in his offensive game and he is a threat from ANYWHERE on the court.  He is head and shoulders above any HS prospect I have seen highlights of in a long time.

Those that are in the Chicago area what do you hear about what schools he is leaning to?  Any chance UNC can snag him?

He sounds a lot like Barnes in high school

Except for the partt where he’s playing in the Chicago public leagues as opposed to farm boys in Iowa. Oh yeah, and he’s not a statue who stands in one spot and shoots.

Parker is phenomenal. Noel reclassified and was No.1 for 2012, eventhough in his own class he was behind Jabari. This guy could be an absolute stud at the next level, as well as the NBA.

is an 8…  And I don’t see him dunking on cats like Jarbari does…  Derrick Rose is probably a better player at this point but at the age Jabari is now I’ll give it to Parker…   KG was better than D. Rose out of HS IMO…  Remember Derrick was a 2 gaurd the start of his JR year…   I give him credit but Rose game at that point was strictly athleticism…  Total package I’ll give it to Jabari and KG…

Regarless 3 of those dudes are surefire HOF’s and one haven’t even entered the league yet…  That’s good a company to be in…  Sky’s the limit for this kid…
