OldSkoolBasketballParticipantThere’s still Byron Scott.

Raef LaFrentzParticipantI’d think Byron Scott would make much more sense than Izzo anyway. What do you guys think?

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantWhat does this mean? I think it’s means Cleveland will be losing LBJ this offseason

BasketballGuru24ParticipantI wanted Izzo to stay in MSU rather then 2 go 2 cleveland. Izzo just ” Feels” Like a bigger accomplishment, every move they make now is for lebron. Bryan Scott just doesn’t feel like a big accomplishment

Raef LaFrentzParticipantIf LeBron would rather have a coach that “feels” like a big accomplishment but really is TOTALLY unproven at the NBA level instead of having a coach that really has proved himself to be a good head coach in the League than he obviously has his priorities mixed up. But honestly, Scott makes more sense for them in reality. The Izzo thing was all about headlines, if you ask me. Publicity breeds happiness these days, I guess.

juves4783Participant1. lebron is not a big fan of izzo.
2. lebron told izzo he’s bolting, so izzo was like f- this.0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/15/2010 - 2:26pm #332925
Toronto16ParticipantPretty sure Lebron is out.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantSo…Where is he going boys?
Chicago? New York? Dallas?

BasketballGuru24ParticipantA real coach can make up a team of players, and when there star player gets injured can still go 2 the big dance. Not make no progress at all after a coach of the year award.

BasketballGuru24ParticipantI Just wanna say New jersey soo bad but i think he going to New york with another player but i doubt he goes to chicgao with noah still there. they hate each other and its known

bkballerParticipantThis is a huge blow to Cleveland… Lebron came out and said he likes Izzo and if this was true he would give him some sort of indication that he is staying to get him on board. Clearly Izzo was given the impression that this team is about to collapse, no coach turns down 30 million and the chance to coach one of the greatest players ever. Or Lebron really didn’t want Izzo as a coach.

Raef LaFrentzParticipantThis guy coached the Nets when they became a great team in the early 2000’s and led them to 2 straight NBA Finals appearances. That’s pretty darn good if you ask me.

BasketballGuru24ParticipantHow much titles they get then and out of 8 games how much they win ??? A weak eastern conference with no real competition. They got blown out when they came to a finals match. He is good but not better then izzo in my eyes

Raef LaFrentzParticipantIzzo has how many wins in his NBA career? How many players he coached were making millions of dollars at the same time? How many egos has he ever had to deal with while coaching? The answer to all of those questions: None. Izzo is an unbelievable college coach, one of the best of our time, but to say he’d be a better coach than Scott, Mike Brown, etc. before he has even coached one game is kind of unrealistic. But if I was the GM of the Cavs and LeBron said he wanted Izzo, heck, I’d sign Izzo in a heartbeat. Haha.

BasketballGuru24ParticipantIzzo has took a MSU team to the final 4 6 times in 12 years winning it once. In More then half of those years people didn’t even think they would make it . Did you forget izzo coach Zach randolph a ego maniacal character.

rtbtParticipantStanford Hoops and those other guys who said it was all about the money were dead wrong! Why? Because Cleveland would have doubled his salary if he said yes. Obviously that wasn’t the deciding factor.
Just like Coach K @ Duke, Izzo realizes he already makes more than enough money [$3 million], but he has one of the dream jobs in the country as head coach at one of the best universities. Those intangibles are far more valuable than NBA money.
