nateoak10ParticipantHe said at Melo’s wedding he was going to make a big 3 in NY with them and if that holds true dealing would be smart . NY could clear enough cap space to sign him if they could unload Billups at that time 10 million dollar contract and then there pay roll would be scraps and Amare and Melo. Probably enough to offer 14-15 mil considering the new CBA will likely lower the max contract number Where are some other places you think he could possibly go to?
A sign and trade with the Blazers? Sign in Dallas? LAL?
Sorta OT from the original question but does anyone think Dwight to Brooklyn will go down or if you think it is a real possibility? If he wants the limelight Brooklyn, Jay – Z, Prokorohv (butchered spelling) and DWill you definitely do that for him. A Lopez for Dwight deal? Or him signing with Boston perhaps?

esperanzafleet69Participantthey really HAVE to consider it, rather than have him leave for nothing… also the knicks SHOULD (depending on new cba) have enough to sign him outright..

laarethekingsParticipantThey should have done what the Jazz did. Looking back I bet they would kill for a deal the Jazz got for D Will.

Scottoant93ParticipantThe Nba owns NOLA meaning whatever team David Stern wants him to go to, it will happen.

sheltwon3ParticipantI think It is something NOLA need to look into especially if they can get a young promising point guard. Also If Dallas and Memphis are indicators, NOLA actually has a chance to do some damage if they can add a few more pieces. I think NOLA may have a better shot of keeping Paul if they can impove at shooting guard and get more size and athleticism off the bench.

laarethekingsParticipantLooking at it… NO should call Minny and see if a Rubio/Randolph and 1st overall pick as a base for a deal can get it done.
Minny needs to start the whole showing Love that they want to win and a Love/Cp3 combo would be nice.
NO could do one of two things with Rubio’s rights. Talk to him and see if he would like to play for them or then trade his rights to a 3rd party for picks, players or both and with the first pick draft Irving.
If Rubio wants to play… A Rubio/Derrick Williams/Randolph and Okafor isnt the worst thing in the world for Cp3

CalipariParticipantYou could get several nice pieces for Paul, and Demps will certainly explore all options.
If you have to trade Paul, Portland is full of assets. Check out this trade:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=5snzuxu
Nola looks like this:
Jarret Jack/Marcus Banks
Wesley Matthews/Rudy Fernandez/Marco Belinelli
Trevor Ariza/Nicolas Batum
David West/Carl Landry
Marcus Camby/David Andersen
I know getting Aldridge would be great, but I don’t see Portland letting him go because Paul needs to play with somebody. Also, this way New Orleans takes on some lighter contracts, and once Camby’s deal expires you have lots of flexibility.
Portland looks like this:
Paul/Miller (if they don’t flip him)/Johnson
Roy/?- have to get a solid backup for him
Wallace/
Aldridge/Barron
Oden/Okafor
This is not a fix all for Portland, but they secure a superstar in Paul.

CalipariParticipantHere is a potential mega trade:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=6h4z4j2
Atlanta looks like:
Paul/Hinrich
Martin/Crawford/Hinrich
?/Sy/Rolle
Smith/Rolle/?
Okafor/Collins/Powell
Nola:
Teague/Jack
Lee/Belinelli/Green
Ariza/Pondexter
West/Hill/Landry
Horford/Gray/Andersen
Houston:
Lowry/Dragic
Johnson/T-Will
Williams/Budinger
Scola/Patterson
Ming/Miller/Hayes
These teams will most probably have some reactionary moves to fill out their roster and complete the depth chart, but I do feel that this trade poses a benefit for all teams involved.

theEDGEParticipantI heard rumors about Billups going back to Denver and Felton and Chandler coming back to the Knicks.
So, If I were the Knicks I would sent Billups to Denver, Felton to the Hornets and Chandler/Paul to the Knicks.
There are some minor details to be worked out.
