…should we then consider him in the top 5 of the greatest players ever to play in the NBA?  He would have tied Jordan in titles won, surpassed Magic and Kobe, finally win back to back, and, most impressively, win all 6 titles spread out within a 16 year span, a testament to the Spurs’ consistency and sustained excellence during Duncan’s tenure.  And it’s not as if he just went along for a ride during the last few years as he arguably is still the team’s MVP (together with Kawhi) and continues to play a major factor in this year’s run.

I’ll probably be going on a limb here and say that IF the Spurs win this year’s championship, my 5 GOAT would be:

    Jordan,

    Kareem

    Russell

    Magic

    Duncan

This coming from someone who has never been a Duncan nor a Spurs fan all throughout…
