just might have one of, if not the worst shooting form in the history of the NBA. Definitely the worst in the league right now. It was pretty bad at Kentucky and I assmed he worked on it once he got into the leage, but it’s atrocious now, He shot a free throw like a jump shot and I was shocked he swished it. I’ve never seen anybody pro, college, pick-up, rec league, anywhere shoot like that.

He does not handle the ball well enough either to be much of a scorer. He is ok on D but overrated there. He rebounds well. After that, he was a bad selection. He is young but he wont be a 2nd pick in the draft type player.

It may be broken but I do not think it is the worst in NBA history. I’m not that bad with him in NBA 2k but my personal goal is to master him up there. I’ve previously knocked down 2 back to back 3s with him.

He has time to fix it. He’s still younger than some rookies are. If/when he does manage to fix his jumper I think he’ll start to live up to the billing of a #2 pick

yeah, i never seen a shooting motion uglier than that. its forever going to be broken. he just needs to put in alot of work to improve it enough to atleast make enough open shots.
i still like him as a prospect. #2 pick was to high for him, but he’s still a top 10 talent. he’s athletic, good size, has a high motor which helps him collect rebounds/steals, and a good defender. he just needs to be more agressive. he usually isnt as agressive offensivsly like he was today, if he does more of that he can become a good all around player.

Changing a player shooting stroke can be pretty impossible. The best thing he can do likely is somehow make it consistent. It’s likely he’ll always be a pretty bad shooter though.

  I don’t think it’s impossible to change a player’s shooting stroke especially when he’s still only 20 years old. Correct me if I’m wrong, but haven’t there been players in the NBA that have changed their stroke in the past?

If MKG can improve his jumper he can really be a very good player. Like 15 and 9 a game. But he’s a long way from changing that form and shot because its atrocious.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it yet especially since he is really young (only 20). I agree though.. it is awful. I think he really should get a shooting coach.. and if he already has one, get rid of him and find someone better cause whatever he is doing is not helping. I do like him as a player though. He plays with alot of heart and is a pretty decent defender.

On a different note, anyone think he’s a bit taller than when he was drafted? He looks about 6’10 to me. I haven’t watched any Bobcat games this year but I would play him at the 4 some. Especially in lineups with no Big Al.
