So I have a team of friends, it’s 5 of us, each of us have a position and we would like to know our NBA Comparison, we aren’t looking for Paul, Bryant, James, Bosh, Howard comparison.. Realistic comparisons for average players.

PG: Great passer, decent shooter, not much quickness, great stamina, hustle, bad attitude, no sportsmanship, talk trash, shut down defense, good court vision, strong body.

SG: Can’t jump, fast and quick, decent defense, hustles, offensive rebounds, consistent and gets hot, good 3pt shot and driving ability, gets blocked because he can’t jump, decent court vision, not very strong body.

SF: Shut down defense, Below average rebounder, lazy, no court vision, no 3pt shot, decent mid range, good driving ability, can’t pass, ball hog, average strength

PF: no offensive game whatsoever, great athleticism, good post and perimeter defense, great hops, can’t pass or dribble, strong.

C: no 3pt shot, good rebounder, good low post game, can’t dribble or pass, no court vision, decent downlow defense, slow, strong

Looking for comparisons of players from 1990-2010, anywhere in between.

So far the Erick Dampier/Eddy Curry, Serge Ibaka, and DFish/Gary Payton comparisons seem perfect!

I’m the PG, it’s not that i don’t have quickness, it’s just that it’s not at a high level.

Sg: Sounds a lot like J.J. Redick

pf: Kenyon Martin, If your friend has great athleticism, he must still be able to score off of putbacks and such….

c: Brendan Haywood, but you have to admit that is a basic description for a lot of NBA centers, some of the better ones at least

pg: besides the not much quickness part, sounds kind of like Gary Payton. I can’t think of an NBA point guard that is lacking in quickness but has all those other attributes at the same time…..

    sf: don’t know…

    btw which one are you?

Our center uses his weight to move around the paint and doesn’t have much quickness and isn’t athletic or mobile, so Eddy Curry seems right for him.

And I forgot to mention that our shooting guard has the ability to take over games, as well as the point guard.

im guessing you are being very generous with your descriptions and if we actually saw you and your friends play we would describe you guys as a bunch of short darko milicic’s.

I think he is comparing his teammates traits to their peers, so what we may not consider quick, or a good passer, really is compared to who they play.

    LMFAO at llperez’s comment!

We’re actually not bad, I mean, we’re not 6’8" or 6’4"  All-Stars but around town, we usually drive to different courts to find people to play, and we usually win, if I had to estimate, we’re probably like 20-7

Obviously we’re not future Div1 players but we all played varsity in high school atleast 1 year so we’re not COMPLETE scrubs either haha

So far, I think our comparisons are

PG: Gary Payton in a Baron Davis mold

    SG: Mike Miller

    SF: Corey Brewer

    PF: Serge Ibaka

    C: Erick Dampier/Eddy Curry

We’re actually a very good defensive team but on offense it’s just a 2 man show, it’s either me or the SG making plays for everyone off picks and off the dribble.

Thanks for the comparisons guys! Really appreciate it!
