I have no idea what is going on with Indiana in Atlanta, but the series is now tied 2-2 and the defense that got them to the 3 seed, seems to have up and left.
I am struggling to see them getting out of the 1st round and it is becoming abundantly clear that the Pacers need a pure scorer. PG is doing ok, but his shooting % is ugly due to the lack of spacing on the floor.

Do you think Indiana makes it out of 1st round? If they don’t I can see some major changes occurring on that roster.

I told people earlier in the year not to sleep on ATL, they are still a good team.

Horford and Smith are All-Star players, Teague and Harris penetration is killing Indiana literally, as they have no answer for either of them, IDK I thought Indiana had ATL down for the count after the first two games, but it seems like Atlanta has figured Indiana out.

Couldn’t agree more. Smith and Horford form one of the best front courts in the league and then they have solid players like Teaque, Harris, and even Korver has played well this year.

The athleticism of Horford and Smith is just killing West and Hibbert. Paul George is getting there, but is not there yet so was really hoping that Hill and West would step up and do what they do, however they are falling apart.

I got to give credit to Atl as they have made Indiana adjust to their style of ball, rather than allowing Indiana to play theirs. Teague and Harris aren’t putting up insane numbers, but they are playing within the system and it is working. I wish Indiana had a guy like Korver his display tonight was outstanding.

As long as Roy Hibbert is slowing the game down, Lance Stephenson, Paul George and the Pacers as a whole won’t fully reach their potential..

You are 100% right, however Hibbert won’t be going anywhere for another 4 years at least. The league is getting more athletic with the C position.

I love West, but this age is starting to show and I will be happy to see him back in Indiana, but a younger more athletic PF wouldn’t go a miss to pair with the immobility of Hibbert.

so far. Guarding more athletic players like Horford and Smoove has left him in foul trouble, and his offensive game is MIA. Lucky for the Pacers that they have home court for this series.

funny how last year Hibbert looked like he had made a leap into becoming a stud, and now a year later he’s looking ridiculously overpaid.

The Trailblazers really tested Indiana, and they bit hard. Fact of the matter is, Roy Hibbert is one of few players that can really hurt the Heat (Hibbert, Noah, Boozer, Carmelo) in these playoffs so they needed him. Without overpaying Hibbert, the Pacers have little, to no chance at beating the Heat in a 7-game series.

I thought Indiana would win this series in 5 but ATL is forreal.

This is why I didn’t think Paul George should have been an All-Star. He’s not ready to be the cornerstone of a team. He’s pretty damn close and he will be eventually but not this season. He shot 42% from the field this season and was turnover prone and now he’s just worse in both of those aspects. He’s just not the kind of player that can take over the ball-game… YET

Let’s not discredit Josh Smith though, he’s been playing some tough defense and doing everything to help ATL win these games. This guy might not get paid max money this season but there will be a lot of teams looking to pay big money for him and he knows it.

After the first two games I thought that the Pacers might sweep the Hawks. Then the Pacers have just completely disappeared the last two games much like the Hawks did in the first two. Crazy to say, but I could see either team winning now.

This series is going to come down to who goes out and plays harder I don’t think talent is going make much difference because they are about equal there. Its tied 2-2 back even if the hawks win game 5 I think this series is over. The Pacers just look lost on offense right now and as pointed out above Smith and Horford’s speed and athleticism is just killing the Pacers front court. As good as they were in the regular season they are really missing Danny Granger in this series.

    Relax.

No team is going to win on the road this series.

I wish Paul George was shooting a higher percentage, etc but I mean he’s averaging 21.8 points, getting to the line 10.3 times per game, 10 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1 block and 2.3 steals. What the Pacers need is for George Hill to shoot better, Lance Stephenson to be consistent and the bench to play better. And then as a team, they need to get back to playing the type of defense that’s been arguably the best in the league.

I posted I thought the Pacers would win this series in 6 games. I’m not surprised they lost two straight on the road. They’re not a great road team (19-21 on the season). I expect them to win easily at home and then go back to Atlanta and wrap it up.

It was a small adjustment but I think the move to put Petro in the starting lineup, moving Horford to power forward and Smith to small forward has been big for Atlanta.
