festar35ParticipantI am not concerned for Indiana they are still a better team than the one that took Miami to 7 games two years back.
Paul George has greatly improved and Lance wasn’t anything more than an effort player, I honestly feel the lockerroom all though they may love Lance is breathing a sigh of relief at the same time.
I would be lying if I didnt say I hope Larry has something in the works, but this isnt the end of the line for Indiana by any stretch. Paul George is still getting better, Roy Hibbert will not have another season like the one he just did and I am interested to see George Hill play a bigger role in the offence he is criminally under rated IMO. Also David West always seems to step up when it matters and lets see how the shooters work out.
Stuckey would’t be a bad fit, he closed out the last month of the season averaging 20ppg.
Anyway time to shift attention to Bledsoe and Monroe to see where they end up.

Memphis MadnessParticipantSo it’s Paul George and a bunch of guys?
I am not seeing it…
Looks like a 45 win team.

festar35ParticipantIs still an All-Star C and a huge advantage to have protecting the paint.
Indiana’s identity is there defensive ability, George, West and Hibbert are still one of the best defensive front courts in the NBA. Yes Indiana lost a dynamic playmaker but they hang their hat on the defensive end, this will not change and itll win them games.

Hector_Reyes_8ParticipantHill is tied with Felton and Chalmers as the worst starting points in the league. Hill is just a 3 point shooter, he can’t dribble or lead a team. He has a rep for defense but was murdered by Teague. Pacers need a playmaker, someone who goes out and makes plays foor and tries to involve others. Lance was the closest thing to that. They need an upgrade at the point badly, they should have tried to work a S&T between Bledsoe and Stephenson.

GrandmamaParticipantNo, they aren’t better than last years team, or the team two years ago. Sure, George is better. Stephenson is gone, Hibbert is worse, West is older, Hill is still a below average starting PG.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantHibbert won’t have another season like he did last season? He averaged 10.8 PPG and 6.6 RPG, his career averages are 11.2 PPG and 6.7 RPG! That wasn’t a terrible season, it was on par with how he’s done his entire career and won’t be getting better any time soon. He’s not going to magically turn into an 18PPG and 12RPG player, especially with one less All-Star on the roster.
David West will be 34 by the time the season starts and is overpaid. George Hill is NOT a starting PG in the NBA, he’s a 6th man or 3rd rotation guard. You just lost an explosive guard that should have been an All-Star last season and was the premier reason the Pacers weren’t swept by the Heat and quite possibly the only reason the Hawks didn’t beat the Pacers in round 1 of the playoffs.
Yet you say this team is better than it was 2 years ago? I’m sorry but I just don’t see it. This team has lost their defensive edge. They’re going to be a good team but not a championship contendor. And if they somehow make it out of the weak East, it will only be to get spanked in the Finals by a much tougher Western Conference team.

IhateusernamesParticipantRoy Hibbert was an all star by default. A bunch of bums playing C in the league now. Even Dwight Howard would’ve been the 4th/5th best C in the league in the 90s behind Ewing, Olajuwon, Robinson, Shaq, and maybe Brad Daugherty.
As an "all star" he should be ashamed of his disappearance last year.
