festar35ParticipantJust wondering what sort of contract Vasquez will likely get this Summer? He is a player I would love Indiana to take a good long look at, as he is pass-first and another big guard to add to already rather intimidating length of Indiana.
If the Hornets did not want him back (hard to see them not), I wouldn’t mind sending Granger down to NO and getting the likes of Vasquez back in return.
Vasquez
Stephenson
George
West???
Hibbertwould be a very tough team with Hill being able to play IMO his more natural position of combo-guard of the bench.

TRC1991ParticipantI bet he returns to New Orleans at 3 years, 24 mil — similar price that Indy paid for George Hill

T-Dot-BallerParticipantI agree with TaylorCondrin that he returns to New Orleans for a 3 year 24-27 mill contract, anthony davis on rookie contract giving some flexibility but eric gordons attitude not helping the hornets organization

T-Dot-BallerParticipantWell I guess we can start judging this team and it’s attitude after seeing the squad go through a full season with a healthy roster cuz injuries really were a concern for the hornets…a lot of talented young pieces together, just need some time together and a positive mind set

Gordon’s attitude has been fine.

I’d be p’d if the Pacers picked up Vasquez. He had a good season playing to get his numbers, but he holds the ball too long, is slower than paint drying and he can’t defend.

IndianaBasketballParticipantAnother thing to note is that Vasquez’s QO isn’t until the summer of 2014, not the summer of 2013. He’ll make a little over $2 million next season with the Pelicans.
Personally, I think Vasquez is a backup. This team needs upgrades at small forward and point guard.
Gordon, Davis and Anderson are THE guys on this team. The Pelicans need to build around them. They have decisions to make this summer on Lopez, Aminu, Smith, Henry, Thomas, Miller and Roberts. I think Lopez, Smith, Roberts and Miller will be back. Not sure about the others.

festar35ParticipantSo despite the rumors you believe that EJ will remain in New Orleans, because personally I think he will be moved.

IndianaBasketballParticipantWhat rumors are you referring to?
I mean, they just signed him to a four year contract worth over $58 million dollars.
It’s possible he could be moved, but I seriously doubt it. He’ll have to prove he’s healthy first before a team would be willing to take that contract. And IF he’s healthy, he’s probably top five at his position, so why trade him?

festar35ParticipantAs I said they are rumors and there are a few of them.

IndianaBasketballParticipantEric Gordon hasn’t asked out of NO. Despite their confrontation, Monty Williams has supported and defended Gordon all season.
IF Gordon is healthy and doesn’t want out of NO, then why trade one of the better young guards in the NBA?
A stronger Davis, healthy Gordon, Anderson and better supporting cast should equal more winning. And if they’re winning, I think everyone is happy and all of the negativity dies down.

RockkNationParticipantprolly gon get 3-5 years 5-8 mil/year

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantIf Gordon proved healthy 95% of the teams in the league would be lining up to get him… and in that case New Orleans would never let him go since it’s next to impossible to find quality shooting guards that play both ends of the court nowadays.

TheLastWordParticipantGood question. If he keeps improving could see 10 million a year easy. 14/9/4 is nothing to scoff at.

phila9012Participant7 to 8 million is what average point guards get, like lin and dragic.

nick5354ParticipantI cannot take this team serious with a nickname of ‘pelicans’
