They say the 1st Impression is a Lasting Impression..Well Tennessee fans loved what they saw in Jarnell Stokes in his debut against eventual Champs Kentucky ,going 4-5 shooting scoring 9 points & grabbing 4 rebounds in 17 minutes…Finishing the season with averages of of 9 pts & 7 rbs a game, and a ton of high expections for the upcoming season… Some people have compared him to Jared Sullinger..But i see him becoming more like Elton Brand a guy that has the complete package that can be the 1st option on a team… POSITIVES: 1.Has a nice touch out to 17 feet, has a baby hook he uses with either hand….Can play with his back to the basket, nice face-up game and has decent ball handling ability… 2.Great Strength-6’9 260 lbs and physical…Does a great job of getting position and boxing out..-Knows how to use his body to draw fouls finishing Top 5 in the nation in Free Throw Rate… 3.Good Rebounder -21.1% Defensively & 11.1% Offensively… 4.Can Block Shots-Due in part to his 38 inch vertical… 5.Good Low Post Game.. 6.Underrated Passer… 7.Great Strength 8.Good Low Post Defender * 1 Thing He has to improve on is his Free Throw Shooting 54.6% is Unexceptable for a player that can get to the line as often as he did last season…. I think he has the talent to become a All-American and a TOP 10 Pick Next Summer….

I like his game and I think he can possibly be late lotto this yr.  I don’t think he’s quite 6’9 (I know that’s what he measured that at the Lebron skills camp but he looks shorter), nor does he have good quickness, but he’s an immovable force on the block.  His lower body strength is elite at the college level and he’ll be able use that strength to carve out space and hold his position at the next level.  He’s fundamentally sound, doesn’t rush his moves and he’s got good touch to go with his basic post moves.  Stokes is a pretty underrated passer as well.  He’s got a very mature game but he does have some physical limitations.  He reminds me a bit of a less polished Sullinger.

If basketball doesn’t work out he seems like the type that could maybe pull an Antonio Gates or Jimmy Graham and go and play TE on Sundays.  He seems to be the perfect physique and athlete for football and especially that position because dude has huge hands too.

Yeah, I agree. He should have taken the rout of playing football instead with the body he has.

He is very talented and has potential to be late first round-lotto, but not top 10.

He is 6’9 and has long arms it’s just the way is body appears to the eye and all that muscle I guess makes him look shorter but the boy is big.He has a pretty legit game and people are forgetting he was not suppose to play college ball last year.He was suppose to be a freshman now. Boy is only born in 1994.Let him just keep improving and he will be fine.
