Playing w/o All Star guard Lillard, the young Trailblazers blew out the Eastern Conference champs last night….. A bunch of us talked about what a nice job Portland’s GM did once they realized that Aldridge was definitely leaving….. they are 12 – 20 but over .500 at home & they have a young team w/ some nice young talent & they are fun to watch…..

Crabbe was the 1st player taken in the 2nd round of the 2013 Draft & he looks like a player…. but, besides guys like Brabbe & McCollum & obviously Lillard outside……  Portland has a bunch of really solid prospects both inside & outside….. Vonleh, Leonard, Plumlee & Harkless to name a few…..

Portland is a great example of what a good GM can do in a Rebuild

I’ve liked Portland since the Jailblazers era.  I actually haven’t liked them much in the last few years since they got LA and cleaned up their act.  Now though LA is gone and the rebuild is in effect.  They have some good players.  They remind me of the Hawks a bit in that they are more tean oriented rather than superstar oriented.  They really only have Lillard as far as stars go, but they have good young players who are capable, seem smart, and coachable.  They just destroyed Lebron and his all-star Cavs, so they are definitely capable of playing at a high level despite not having a ton of "name" players.

Not a fan of their new rip city unis though.  I like the old style uniforms.

I watched them since the Walton days!!!! This team is overachieving!! I think their future will be much much better if try to get a top three pick instead of battling for an ate seed!!!

They beat Cleveland and did it without any of the starters from the team they had last year, that was huge.

Portland has the guard spots done, Leonard is their stretch 4 and Plumlee can defend, a scoring small forward and a few other pieces and they will be back in the playoffs.

Like all the other teams in the lottery, Simmons at small forward would help a lot.

Olshey’s done a great job. He’s managed to cut salary, reduce the teams age and remain competitive,  they can shoot and rebound which isn’t a bad recipie for success.. Most of their roster is about 24-25 years old.

Aminu’s shooting nearly 40% from 3 on over 4attempts per game, certainly noone saw that coming.. His deal looks pretty good thus far. started every game.

Ed Davis and Plumlee have performed well..

4 steals for Vonleh vs the Cavs.. He’s getting valuable minutes to learn from, and collecting starts.

McCollum and Crabbe must be retained and Portland has plenty of space/flexibility to do it.. Crabbe might get some decent offers this summer though.

Meyers Leonard’s 3pt shooting has been a disappointment so far this year, I think he can knock that shot down.

They have plenty of pieces to make moves if they want, 2-for-1’s and such, they can keep the team together, take a lottery pick and continue to build chemistry they’ve got a decent outlook. Only complaint is they shoulda never moved Will Barton..

Every prospect I hype…. ends up being at least a good player…. I hyped up Allen Crabbe all year long when he was at Cal. I thought he should’ve been drafted higher.

Obviously McCollumMcCollum biggest fan when he was at Lehigh… I argued with everyone who said he wasn’t a lottery pick

Right now, if you may ask, I’ve been hyping up Allonzo Trier since before the season started.

His looking like quite the prospect right now
