I like the last 2 variations. The one with the 5 screening for the 4, this one is used by Minny for Kevin Love, it was used for Bargnani in Toronto. The last one I saw being ran for Nick Young in the Lakers this season.

Another interesting variation is with the entry at the elbow to the big man and the PG running to the wing to set a screen for a cutting wing player. If the cut is not clean, it usually causes the defense to switch and generate a mismatch.

    Nice clip.

The Lakers sometimes have one of the two screeners (mostly Gasol) doing a step or two like he’s going to set a pick and instead he dives to the rim immediately. I guess horns is so popular opposing defenders can recognize it immediately and they focus on defending the pick and roll and sometimes are not focused on other actions.

Some teams runs horns using a wing (or even two) as screeners, especially when they have a small lineup or a big who can shoot in the corner.
