learn how to deceive your defender by using a jab, pump fake, or rocker step in combination. Putting the ball on the deck should be the last thing you do

Improve your dribble. Dribble with two balls in different variations always with your head up and get strong with both hands. The fast you can move with your dribble, with your head up the more effective slasher you will be….

And hit the gym….get your weight up so when your in the paint you can take contact.

Improving your handle is probably the most important part. If you can’t handle the ball you will never get into the paint. Do cleans, they work on explosiveness. If you can get a more explosive first step it will be easier to slash. Put the work in in the weight room to be able to handle the contact you’ll inevitably get in the lane. Also work on finishing with both hands and work on making contested shots at the rim. That’s all I can think of right now and some of it was posted above already. Anyway, hope that helps.

EDIT: Since you’re a good shooter, use that to set up your drives and use pump fakes too.

If you have a good crosover, or are good in changing directions, than that should do the trick
