RickyRubio9ParticipantIf this rumor is true, what do you guys think happened? I got a text saying a source told ESPN’s Ric Bucher that the deal with Hedo and the Blazers is off.

Knicksboy34ParticipantBucher just told me on twitter….look for him to go to Toronto

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantGood, never want him in the first place.

gatorheelsParticipantIt really is good for the Blazers. They need to go sign Sessions or Andre Miller ASAP.

RickyRubio9ParticipantYounger and he can grow with their team, plus he might be cheaper then Andre, but definately should go after Sessions. Then their team will be really good in the future, not just for 2 years with Andre. Er, nvm. Sessions is still with the Bucks isn’t he? I don’t think he opted out…like Charlie V, or he might’ve. Is he restricted?

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantProblem is Milwaukee can match any offer and I’m not prepare to give Sessions a 8-10 million a year deal.

RickyRubio9Participanthe changed his mind. Toronto is going to offer the max they can. Does this mean Shawn Marion is going to Cleveland? Who else has shown interest in him? What ’bout Toronto? Are they better?
PG-Calderon
SG-Derozan
SF-Hedo
PF-Bosh
C-Bargnani
Who’s their bench?0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/03/2009 - 4:11pm #175444
Knicksboy34Participant5 year 52 mil for a player on the decline…good thing he didn’t wanna sign…saves you guys
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/03/2009 - 4:15pm #175445
OldSkoolBasketballParticipantDoes Toronto actually think getting Hedo would make Bosh stay? I don’t understand why Hedo would want extra 6 mil to play on a team to end his career that will probably miss the playoffs rather than a team with a bright future. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy he’s not signing here but It makes you feel betrayed. Part of Oregon is pissed off and wants to kill the raptors by 40 when we play them lol.

RickyRubio9Participantare desperate now, trying to do anything to keep Bosh. Whatever it takes. Who knows, if Bargnani can keep it up and Derozan do his thing then maybe Bosh might see some life in that team and think they actually have a future all they need is a bench.

BasketballGuru24ParticipantHedo In Portland was Going to be a big mistake, and i think They Can Think A Bit Better By Getting A Point Guard. Toronto on The Other Is a Pretty Smart For Getting Hedo or ” Pursing” Him, because he is more of a half-court player and thats the team the raptors were, honestly Marion plays the runn and gun game, and the raptors are not that team , Now The Raptors Have That Player That Player that Can Get The Load off Bosh, and They Can Go 2 During Clutch Times…..But toronto is giving away aload of Players Aways, But Sign And Trades Might Be taken in affect with anthony parker and delfino

doubledribblerParticipantI think this is good news for the Blazers. The last thing they needed to do was add a guy who probably only has 2 more really good years left and who was going to take time from the young guys like Batum, Fernandez, Outlaw and Webster. Especially Batum and Fernandez. Those guys are great. I think Batum has the chance to be something really special if he keeps working.
As for Hedo, he wasn’t going to make them a championship contender. They are still probably a couple of years away so they need to take their time and just keep improving the young guys that they have. I think he is a player that will always be effective even as he nears the end of his contract. He’s really not a guy that uses athleticism, but he has a good basketball IQ, nice height and he can shoot. So he should have good value at the end of his contract, but whoever signs him will regret giving him so much money, especially if he’s coming off the bench his last year or so.

JHong621ParticipantI think with the addition of Derozan, Toronto could be a run and gun team. Their previous shooting guard, Anthony Parker, was more of a half court guy, but Derozan is anything but. I think him and Marion would make a good run and gun tandem, like Colangelo had when he WAS with the suns. I think Calderon is capable of pushing it. That might make things more fun for Bosh, and maybe entice him to stick around. I’m from Canada(please save the laughing for later), so my opinion might be biased, but I think this roster might be able to pull it off. I also read on NBA.com they already offered Marion a 3 year deal with 8 million a year i believe, and he isnt garnering much interest from other teams. I mean, last year, our biggest problem was a defender to guard the wings, and Turk definitely wont get us that, but Marion will. Besides, I think the ball will be much more effective in Calderons hands then Turks. If Colangelo is the genius everyone believes he is, he won’t sign Turk, but instead, keep Marion.

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantIt will be hilarious if they decide to sign Marion instead. Then Turk will be crawling back to Portland.

JHong621ParticipantHonestly, I think he is one of the most overrated players in the league. Being on Orlando got him exposure, and his stats may be good averaging 17 5 5, but he does not play defense, and he needs the ball too much to be effective.
