delfamParticipantSo The Heat are favored by 7.5, that line seems kinda sneaky to me which means Vegas likes the Sixers. The Sixers match up fairly well. Holiday can guard Wade, Iguodala on Lebron, and Brand on Bosh.
On offense Holiday and Brand could have real big games. I think this is going to be a pretty exciting game and both teams like to run. What’s people thoughts, blowout or close game?

RUDEBOY_ParticipantAfter losing to Boston in their debut..Guys like Wade and Lebron wont take that easily..They will make adjustments….I expect the Heat to win by 15 tonite….
After just 1 game..Everyone has written them off..
some fools are saying they should trade Wade..
And their coach should step down and let Riley coach the team..

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantI do like certain matchups for the Sixers, but the Heat are coming off a stinker(1st half was ugly/2nd half was solid/Money Time the Team Folded)
The Celtics were successful with Pierce and Daniels on Lebron most the night( Iggy and Noci will likely D up on Lebron tonight…)
Wade was Guarded by Allen and Rondo( for short spurts ) and they hassled him all night( Holiday is a lock down Defender and will look to effect Wade’s impact all night, Turner will back up Holiday and defend Wade when Holiady needs rest)
Bosh was face guarded and push out the Post by KG…His 8 and 8 was hard to come by…Brand and Thad have to work hard to hold him to less than 18 points IMO for the Sixers to stand a Chance…Brand is a tough interior defender but Bosh’s ability to pull defenders out( due to a lack of inside game) is why I would Start Speights over Brand Tonight…I’d have Brand in the Role of a Haslem and run him big time minutes during key points of the game…
All in all the Sixers have to swarm to the ball on D and play their man tight…Help, Help and Help…Wade and Lebron were trying to force things last night and nothing tells me they’ll do a complete 360 in less than 24 hours…
They will have a more fluid game but they still have a lot to work on Chemistry wise/rotations…so that’s where the Sixers need to beat them…by passing the ball and slashing( possibly getting Bosh in Foul Trouble using Brand, Hawes and Speights on offense) Iggy,Jrue,Thad,Turner and Lou all love slashing and attacking the lane, fouls can be a plenty tonight…The Heat have a short rotation and should really watch out for Big Z and Haslem off the Bench…The big 3 is the Big 3…you have to beat them 4 through 12…and your 1, 2 and 3 better play there tails off too…The Sixers will be put to a test and so will the Heat…How will the Heat respond? how will they play against a younger/faster paced team???who’s gonna step it up for The Sixers???

omphalosParticipantThis is messed up, I still look at people talking about Wade and Lebron on the same team and shake my head in disbelief on occasion, the whole thing is just so surreal.

OhCanada-ParticipantRudeboy…too be honest I said in the beggining that they should never have put Wade, and Lebron on the same team, and that complimentary pieces around Bosh and Wade or Bosh and Lebron would be better. Although they will be fine after a tough adjustment period, they will not win a championship.
Anyways speaking on the game I have some predictions. Judging by last game it seems like Holiday is going to get alot of penetration and assist oppurtunitys. Ball movement is obviously the key to cracking the Heat defense, and clogging the paint is the key to stopping their offense but Philly has no real force in the paint. Turner and Iggy will likely have a tough time penatrating on Wade, Lebron, and Miller so the key to their success will be moving off the ball, cutting and using screens while Holiday gets penatration. Brand will beat up on Bosh. The fact that Philly has no intimadating defensive presence in the paint should make it easy for Miamis big three to dominate unless Sphieghts has a monster game. I believe Speights will have a large presence but not enough to stop the big 3.
What do yall personally think about Turner.

RUDEBOY_Participantyeah,i had my doubts about Lebron and Wade ..They both have similar offensive limitations..But with their unselfishness they’ll make it work…Coach should limit the amount of times they’re on the court together..becuz sometimes they will cancel each other out…
i say after the allstar break turner will begin to show promise..already he’s shown that he has the skills to do other things besides scoring..once he gets comfortable in philly’s offense he’ll be ok…maybe another brandon roy..
but those comparisions to pippen were way off base…

goneParticipantI don’t like how when one of the big 3 gets the ball the others just stand around and watch also Im really disappointed in lebron’s post game there were several occasions where he’d beat his man then go to a counter move for no reason

OMARtheLEGENDParticipantWhy do The heat start arroyo i personally think chalmers is a much better player. Heres why on defense he is a very good on ball Defender and secondly If you guys watched the game yesterday Marv Albert, Mike fratello, and Steve Kerr wouldnt shut up about the fact that miamis 3pt shooters will be open alot because of all the defensive interest is on the big 3 and mario chalmers is a solid shooter.

Mr. 19134ParticipantDon’t sleep on the Sixers in tonights game, it is in Philly and just like Boston is is going to be a very raucous crowd. The Heat are in their own heads after the game one loss and still don’t have chemistry issues down. Lebron and Wade did a lot of standing around when they didn’t have the ball in their hands last night. Wade did a lot of whining. They didn’t hit any jump shots and they are not really a jump shooting team. Philly got a very fast and athletic bunch of players if they jump on the Heat early and apply pressure on defense you got to wonder if the Heat have another miserable performance.
The Key to this game will be Young and Turner coming off the bench the Sixers got Williams, Young, Turner and Speights all coming off the bench who can score in bunches Miami doesn’t have depth to guard those four players.

wow, jrue holiday was awful. I watched the first half. Jrue was just sort out there early not doing anything. Had almost no impact on the game. Then to start the second half, he had one of the worst 2 minute stretches a player can have. First, hawes missed a ft line jumper and jrue snuck in and went up to get the offensive put back, but instead of simply catching it and laying it in, he tried to get all dominique like and cocked it back and banged it off the back of the rim. Then while getting back on defense, he just completely lost his man and gave up a lob dunk that was all on jrue. He then comes down the very next possesion and throws a lazy cross court path that gets picked off for a break away dunk. Doug COllins is up out of his seat fuming. Jrue immediately comes down and tries to force a pass in down low and turns it over again. Collins calls a TO and looks like he is gonna take jrues head off.
I then turned it figuring that was the last i would see of jrue. I flipped it back early in the 4th and to my surprise jrue was back out there. And immediately he has the ball on a 2 on 1 and looks hesitant. I drives middle and sees evan turner trailing and all he has to do is drop off a simple pass and evan has an uncontested layup. BUt instead jrue thrwos it behind him and out of bounds. COMpletly unforced turneover thats 100% on jrues shoulders. Turner was pissed and started yelling at him.
Pretty much the worst i have seen jrue look.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantJames Jones doesn’t even hesitate when shooting 3’s! It’s like if Erik told him, EVERYTIME you touch the ball, put it up. Which is good the way he’s shooting.
