Just got back from the Pacers vs Heat game not too long ago.
I'd like to apologize to Paul George. I haven't given him enough credit or acknowledgement towards his improvement. He busted LeBron's ass tonight. Long range, mid-range and to the basket... Didn't matter. His ball handling is much improved, which is allowing him to be more aggressive... He was catching and shooting, making quick/decisive decisions. He's not a guy who needs the ball for long periods of time like in isolations or clearouts. He was moving well without the ball and utilizing screens. He was comfortable in the mid-range with that one or two dribble pull-up. He was great on the boards. He REALLY impressed me tonight.
D. Wade had the most quiet 30 points I've seen in awhile. LeBron was really passive in the 4th quarter. Wasn't really looking to take over like I hoped. He sort of had a "rough" night. They switched and put him on David West for a small period in the 4th and he couldn't keep West off of the offensive glass. Gave up some crunch time offensive rebounds. He had quite a few turnovers in the 4th as well. It was still amazing watching him though. He's an unbelievable athlete. You appreciate it more in person than you do on tv. He just comes out of nowhere to grab rebounds and block shots... It's unreal.
Good win for the Pacers. After a rough start, they're now 21-14 and 13-3 at home. Another big game vs the Knicks on Thu.
PG24 is straight up balling. I just hope he doesn't defer when "you know who" returns.
What did Gerald Green's block look like in person?? Lol
The Pacers still need Danny Granger. They need his scoring and leadership. I think there's enough room for both he and George to co-exist.
The thing I like about Granger is he's also very good at moving without the ball, catching and shooting, etc. I think his shot attempts will go down, but he still needs to be aggressive.
IF he can come back completely healthy, the Pacers are going to be a tough out in the playoffs.
That Gerald Green block was unbelievable lol. I thought he was going to block it with his head.
I don't know what block was better though between Green's and LeBron's on George Hill. LeBron came out of nowhere to block Hill's layup and pin it on the backboard close to the top of the square.
Thoughts on Lance Stephenson and his improvement? I only caught the majority of the 2nd half but he looked great from what I saw. Like he really fits with the group now and I think his jumpshot is beautiful.
Lance Stephenson was in foul trouble the first half.
There was a small two or three minute span in the 3rd quarter where he just went nuts lol. He hit two consecutive three-pointers. He helped break the game open.
He ended the game a little flat though. He missed like three straight shots, but they were basically end of the shot clock shots.
I like what Lance brings to the team. The crowd loves Lance because of the passion he plays with. He's still learning how to play aggressive, but with control.
