TarHeelRavenParticipantJust read an article that Ray Allen was discussing doing a sequel with Spike Lee. Everyone remembers Jesus Shuttlesworth and Allen says everybody calls him that on his team which is not surprising at all because it’s such a great name. When the NBA does the nickname jersey thing he’ll have it on his jersey. Is the sequel a good idea? I think Ray would be onboard if he could have another threesome with two hot pornstars.

Wavy BagelsParticipantIt’ll be a good idea if Spike could also get Denzel to reprise his role. It would be interesting to see how a potential plot for the film would be. It’s over a decade since the first one. Perhaps we see Shuttlesworth after he reitres from professional basketball and tries to reconnect his relationship with his father as he struggles to be one himself? Does Shuttlesworth even make it pass college basketball (injury? outside influences?), etc.

CynthiaParticipantOh my, I love this movie and have watched it countless times. I’d love a second one and I think like Sharpe says there’s multiple angles they could run with from a stories perspective.
It might be a bit cliche if in the second he ends up being the best player in the NBA, would be a really deep and realistic story if he ended up being injured, or just wasn’t as good in the pros and got cut. Then it could tell a story about life/struggles after the NBA.
Hope this happens, however they choose to go with the story I’m sure it will be great.

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantAnd it is a true sports classic, but making a sequel this far down the road wouldn’t be very well received with fans of the original
The payoff for me as a viewer wouldn’t be the same as it was 10 plus years ago, I think we need to imagine a Hoosiers 2 made into a comedy, a Blue Chips show on HBO or a Rocky remake starring Justin Bieber

BogDon_KryptParticipantI think in the second one he should be in the NBA, playing his biggest rivals, Ebakanezeer Banks (Carl Crawford) and Showalter McDermott (Andrew Bynum) in game 7 of the NBA finals which is of course Jesus’ team (Hawks) verse the two time defender NBA champion Sacramento Kings
