TheLastWordParticipantIf you are interested in one of these players for your team, name your best 4 year deal.

bigblackNbeautifulParticipantMakes me hope Gordy shows signs of brilliance but doesn’t live up to his potential this year but maybe next or the year after. If he does explode and warrant a lot of money and we commit to him this really handicaps us with burks and kanter next year. Kanter will get his 11 mil or so just based of the fact that he is a young skilled big, and burks so far looks like a potential really nice player in the weakest position in the nba in my opinion the shooting guard. I love this young core but if we have to over pay Gordy because we have to match a high bid trades will need to be made.

IndianaBasketballParticipantIF Larry Sanders and Derrick Favors can get $44/$49 million, then Greg Monroe will receive close to the maximum.
I think anywhere north of $10 million per season for Eric Bledsoe is too much.
I’m sort of surprised that Gordon Hayward and the Jazz didn’t work out an extension. However, based on reports, Hayward’s camp was looking for close to $60 million (some of that depending on performance bonuses, etc). I’m a huge Hayward supporter, but he’s not that kind of player. I think the Jazz made a smart decision to let him play out this season and let the market determine his value.

r377ParticipantEven with signing Josh Smith the pistons are quite under the salary cap next season. Both Stuckey and Charlie V’s contracts expire at the end of this season (currently $8.5 mill each)
As a pistons fan I would be gutted if they didn’t do something serious to lock up Monroe…

GlenTaylorSucksParticipantI’m convinced Detroit are gonna trade Monroe. It’s not a knock on him at all- he’s for real, and will be a top 5-7 PF in the NBA for a while. I just think that the combo of him, Drummond, and Smith do not fit together. Drummond and Smith are built more for the run and gun, up-tempo game (as is Jennings), while Monroe is much more suited for the half-court game. Also, they looked like they REALLY struggled with spacing, as at least one of them on every possession was left wondering what the hell to do when the others manned the high and low post. I’m not a betting man, but I’m willing to bet that he’s dealt by the deadline, or at the very least S&T’d upon entering FA.

Ahkasi ClayParticipantMaybe it is the racist in me but I have thought for years that Hayward would end up in Boston

GlenTaylorSucksParticipantThough, Flip seems to not be taking the “Glory Road in Reverse” strategy that Kahn liked.

canada2482ParticipantThe biggest suprise to me is Munroe he is 17/10 last year a more than solid to good big if favors got basically 50 mil on potential IDK why Detroit let the market set his worth someone will offer him 4/60 mil easy he is still super young and can be a 2nd option on a chip team, maybe he is not a 5 in the traditional sense but he reminds me of a les athletic young C.Bosh, Toronto days when he was 20/10
I think Bledsoe will get a big contract offer this summer, IDK why PHX traded for him to not sign him and when they match it will be at a high price tag, I think Hayward will stay in Utah for something like 4/50-GlenTaylor-Who can they get for him? a nice young 3? bc smith is a 4 not questions asked. But all valid points especially the S&T- What about Toronto for Rudy Gay and pieces

GlenTaylorSucksParticipantI would have said him for Rondo. That deal just made too much sense…before they went and signed Jennings. I mean, it’s possible they can still make a run for Rondo and trade Jennings as well. But if they don’t, I’d agree, it would have to be for a 3 or a 2. Rudy Gay’s a possibility, but does Detroit have enough under the cap to do it? Also…Gay has kind of a reputation for being a team chemistry killer. I shudder thinking of putting him and Jennings on the perimeter- their shot selection will be 10,000 kinds of awful. If they can get Gay and Jennings (and Smith for that matter) to buy into a team-oriented, run and gun, make the extra pass for the open man style offense, then I’m all for it.
I don’t know who else is on the market for 3’s. I’d say Deng, but Detroit would never help a division rival.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantI do not see why it is a big deal to go to restricted free agency if the deal is anything beyond a no-brainer. The team has the right to match any offer next summer. Evan Turner was criticized for his wording, but a good player is not going to lose money by playing out the season and becoming a restricted free agent. The only problems for the player can come from a major injury (always a risk) and playing poorly. The only problem for the current team is that they actually pay the player the amount another team is willing to bid (perish the thought).
