what are the chances he actually comes out this year???i know he is about 2 years older than everyone else in his class, so that alone might want to make him leave early and its not like Marshall will be contending for a championship…..I really do hope he leaves early…..what would be the best fit for him??? sacramento kings maybe? and what do u think he will go when drafted if he leaves this year

My top 3 best fits for Whitside out of the current projected lottery teams:

    1.  Kings  2. TWolves  3. Pistons

I do think Whitside will enter the draft this year. He will get drafted anywhere from pick 2 to 9.

I think Golden State or Utah would be the best fits for him. Both have solid, veteran big men who are better suited to play in his stead because Whiteside will not be ready enough to play starter minutes (or really more than spot minutes) in his rookie season. If a team wanted to throw him to the sharks in his rookie year, he could go to a team like Indiana or Sacremento and play off the bat, for better or worse.

I think if he comes out this year he goes 2 overall. Same logic i put in a different post, what team has won it without a great big man. Only reason he won’t go first is the nba has made a movement to point guards being the most important position.

You think Whiteside will be a dominant big man? More dominant than DeMarcus Cousins, who plays his position and is more more dominant than Whiteside? I’d take Cousins over him with the 2nd pick, and I’d take some more players over him as well.

Dont discount the age and competition factor with him. I have heard attitude concerns with him, no verification so I can’t take it too seriously. The guy will be 21 at the time of the draft. That to me puts a real limit on his potential, considering he is a sophmore/juniors age and plays mediocre competition. I’m not sure what I see in him that makes him better than B.J. Mullens or Deandre Jordan at this point, and they are both still younger than he is. Cole Aldrich is going to be like an Inshape Big country Reeves or a Taller Kevin Love. His downside to me is Jeff Foster. I’d take Aldrich, and possibly Alabi, before Whiteside right now. But his stock is so high, he has to go this year.

Detroit needs a big man. If Hassan Whiteside comes out, they are gonna have a chance to nab either Aldrich, Whiteside, Cousins, or Motiejunas. I think unless they win Wall, they need to get a legit C.

The Pistons need a big man, but I’m willing to bet that Cousins or Aldrich gets picked over Whiteside. Both provide a more immediate answer.

Where are all you guys seeing this kid play? I wish I could evaluate this kid cause being a T wolves fan, we need a big center to play along with Jefferson and Love. If he’s a decent big man that can rebound and block shot then he would be a lottery pick for sure in a draft deprived of true centers.

I can safely report to gatorheels that Hassan Whiteside will not go second in this draft. The league has dumb GMs, not that dumb. All these teams that need centers do not need a center that will be a project and therefore cannot help them now. Detroit isn’t going to take this guy in the lottery. Why would Golden State or Utah want another project center. Kosta Koufos is the same age as Whiteside. Randolph is 20, Wright is 22, Biedrins is 23, they don’t need a 21-year old in there for continuity.

Darkman97, if you haven’t seen him yet, the CUSA tournament will be on the CBS-college sports channel for the early rounds and CBS for the final should they advace. Obviously, the NIT will be on ESPN. If you live in Texas, I think you might be able to pick up the upcoming games with UTEP or SMU.
