KU PRIDE14ParticipantJosh Selby Is ranked # 1 by Rivals.com, other players ranked number 1 have been, John Wall, Derrick Rose, Dwight Howard, Michael Beasley, Lebron James, and Greg Oden if you saw him at the McDonald All American game he was clearly the best player out there and heavily got his teammates involved with amazing passes, what do you guys think he will do in the NBA and where he will get drafted?

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantI love Josh Selby. Not more then Kyrie Irving however.
I feel Selby could a more agressive Monta Ellis. I’m highly interested to see how well he does at his first season in Kansas.

KU PRIDE14ParticipantHe will do very well, In Bill Self’s offence he lets the players have a lot of freedom, especially the point guard, I think your right as in he is a little selfish but he is a very good player and will probably have very good stats, I would say a for sure a one and done player.

IknoBall12Participantbut i dont think hes better than kyrie irving. selby is real flashy and not that its a bad thing becuz kyrie is flashy too but i think selby is jus a little more selfish and doesnt seeem as coachable as other players in the draft class

JNixonParticipantHe moved up and is ranked as the #1 player in the 2010 class, so if anything he’s getting alot more recognition. I personally feel than Harrison Barnes and Kyrie Irving are better prospects than him. But enjoy Kansas State’s run this year. Should be a great team again. Kansas is no longer the best Kansas team.
0- Posted on: Sun, 05/30/2010 - 9:51am #323392
KU PRIDE14ParticipantI agree with you that Harrison Barnes is a good and maybe even better prospect but I don’t see why everyone is so high on Kyrie Irving, I have seen him play, he is good but I don’t see him being an eventual NBA superstar, and yes this year Kansas state will most likely be the better Kansas team.

StF616ParticipantWhy did you say people forgot about him?
Anyway he’s good, but he’s not the best player in the class
Harrison Barnes and Kyrie Are Better0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/30/2010 - 10:11am #323403
lalailaParticipantyeah he might isn’t the best out of class..
but i just love watch him play..oustanding talent, amazing scorer, i like watch his dribbling slashing and those good “bad-shots” or acrobatic lay-ups..and with that athletisicm and improving jumper he really has potential to be even top5 pick i think.. can’t wait to see him in Kansas

StF616ParticipantJared Sullinger is the most complete and NBA ready player this draft
He’s not a great athlete wont be a star, he will be a good player
Strong, Can shoot to 18 feet-20 feet, good rebounder
Kyrie Irving, wont be a superstar on the nBA
he’s a solid player, high basketball IQ, does all the right things in the court
Kyrie is Also a Good Scorer, good finisher and great in transition
As for selby, i see him as a Monta Ellis
He’s a great scorer, great athlete, And is very flashy
If i would rate the guys next year that would have the best season it would be like this:
1.Harrison Barnes
2.Jared Sullinger
3.Kyrie Irving
4.Josh Selby
5.Brandon Knight
6.Enes Kanter
7.Cory Joseph
8.Tobias Harris
9.CJ Leslie
10.Terrence Jones
If i would rate them with best NBA Potential it would look like this:
1.Perry Jones
2.Harrison Barnes
3.CJ Leslie
4.Brandon Knight
5.Josh Selby
6.Terrence Jones
7.Fab Melo
8.Kyrie Irving
9.Will barton
10.Cory Joseph0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/30/2010 - 11:01am #323425
SDEParticipantSelby more of a scorer than pure PG something like D.Rose
Irving and Joseph better PGs right now; In the end those two will go high along with T.Jones and Melo. Barnes is a question to me will he get the chance to be a great player with so many stars there now would have loved to see him at a Big East school like the Cuse or others they cranked out great SFs0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/30/2010 - 11:12am #323430

Mr. 19134ParticipantI feel like the player with the most potential in this class, and also the best player in this class is Perry Jones. He got the skills of a 2 guard but the size of a power forward and his athleticism is off the charts. Similar to Kevin Durant who was never ranked one and overlooked till he went to Texas, Jones will have a similar time in college.Yes he will.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/30/2010 - 11:42am #323436
StF616ParticipantPerry Jones, has the Best Potential, but he is NOWHERE near being the Best of this class
He will probably average 16 and 8 in college or something similar to that
Comparisons:
Harrison Barnes – Kobe Bryant
Terrence Jones – Lamar Odom
Perry Jones – Anthony Randolph/Kevin Durant
Josh Selby – Monta Ellis
Joshua Smith – Eddy Curry
Jared Sullinger – Kevin Love0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/30/2010 - 1:45pm #323505
dolla130ParticipantPerry Jones, has the Best Potential, but he is NOWHERE near being the Best of this class

Comparisons:
Harrison Barnes – joe johnson

Kyrie irving- CP3
Brandon Knight – a more athletic D.will0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/30/2010 - 3:09pm #323570
sc0rebuckets11ParticipantDerrick Rose wasn’t ranked #1 according to rivals, it was Beasley.
Selby is a little more combo-ish than Kyrie.
I think he’s the most aggressive and explosive in the class, which I know rivals.com loves.
It’ll be interesting to see how smooth of a 1 he runs at Kansas, since it’s more of a traditional pro-offense.

ilike.panochasParticipantTheres no question hes a gifted athlete, but I question his PG skills translating to NBA. We might be seing another Avery Bradley situation with Shelby. He will have to play SG at Kansas because I like Tyshawn Taylor’s PG skills better as a pass first PG.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/30/2010 - 3:36pm #323573
JNixonParticipantHe’ll see limited time at the PG spot..Tyshawn Taylor is the PG at KU
Selby was the most aggressive player in the 2010 class, but as a prospect he’s not better than Kyrie Irving, Harrison Barnes, Perry Jones, Brandon Knight or Fab Melo off the top of my head. He may be the best player right now in the class, but he won’t be the best freshman next year, nor does he have the long term potential that some of these other guys have.

dolla130Participantselby will be the starter sooner then later he is that good and he is a better offensive player then bradley and he has baron davis type talent he is a natural scorer, exceptional passer and is very athletic he will be a top 10 pick he decides to leave next season and will be a very good nba PG, Tyshawn Taylor is a good PG but selby is the better player and will instantly have an impact at the pg position because of his size and athletic ability
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/02/2010 - 11:18am #325499
syvjohansenParticipantI think Josh Selby will be next year’s John Wall but Selby can shoot better but Wall is taller.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/02/2010 - 11:23am #325501
syvjohansenParticipantSelby also should’ve gone to Kentucky because he won’t have a good supporting cast at Kansas. Also Calipari makes AMAZING NBA players.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/02/2010 - 11:36am #325513
delfamParticipantI do see the Baron Davis comparison, but what has Baron won? When evaluating players I look at players who are team players and can win championships. Baron will never be a starter on a championship team and I don’t see Selby as one either. He can be a great NBA player like Baron, but I don’t see championships, which is what you want.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/03/2010 - 8:46am #326049
dolla130Participantthe only thing that held baron back was injuries if you really want to evaluate a player before D.rose he had the most talent and potential out of every PG in the NBA and when was healthy he could have been the starting pg for any championship team in the nba, also if your gonna evaluate players like that that means you think every pg has to be like Derrick fisher, rondo, billups and parker because only like 3 or 4 pgs in the top ten in the nba have even been to the finals
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/03/2010 - 9:08am #326070
delfamParticipantYou’re right, I like point guards like Fisher,Rondo,Billups,Parker, and Kidd. They look to pass first and are great leaders, they know when their team needs a basket and their timing is amazing. That’s why these guys are the only couple to be to a final because they have the intangibles. If you want a championship you have to look for guys like this and I don’t think Selby is that kind of guy.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/03/2010 - 11:04am #326186
dolla130Participantfirst and for most kidd never won anything, 2 derrick fisher and rondo just so happened to be blessed with the teams they where drafted to, fisher is not a good pg at all, rondo is actually a good pg but in the 2008 finals he was hardly a factor, tony parker and billups are the only 2 that actually made differences for there teams and parker is not even a good passer and is more of a scoring pg and he is not even a good leader if wanna evaluate pgs , billups on the other hand is the only pg on this list who was the there teams best player and was the leader while winning a title
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/03/2010 - 11:23am #326202
delfamParticipantKidd got to the finals twice though. Also, I don’t think the point guard should ever be the best player on his team, that shouldn’t be his role, he needs to involve the other players and know when the right situation is to score.
Also I love Derek Fisher, saying he is not good is dumb. He might be a liability on defense but he is a great leader and hits the clutch shots when his team needs it, exactly what a point guard should do.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/03/2010 - 12:38pm #326242
NathanStaceyParticipantWhy does anyone think Kyrie Irving can’t be a superstar in the NBA? Where are the holes in his game and what negative thing can you say about him? I can’t think of much, if any.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/28/2010 - 8:59am #343214
CelticJayhawkParticipantYour dumb if you think brandon knight will be better then selby. Jones Barnes and Irving are the only players with more potential then Selby. Fab Melo is a bum. John Riek 2.0.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/28/2010 - 9:21am #343222
OhCanada-ParticipantCorey Joseph is Derek Fisher 2.0 for real.Just an advanced version IMO he would fit in amazing on the Lakers.
