jaysmith1987ParticipantHarrison Barnes will play his way back into the first pick I think he is the most talented player in the draft and he’s starting to show the consistency everyone waited for and he’s suprising me with his rebounding of late. I still think he has a chance to live up to his hype of being the next Grant Hill.

canesboy6ParticipantHe has a ton of upside. He can’t dribble, is a little soft, and has an average first step. But he is already a great shooter, has great confidence, and the perfect physical qualities for the 3 position. Grant Hill is a good comparison. I think he is more athletic than he gets credit for.

PaulsJayhawksParticipantI would love to see the Raps get him, he would be perfect beside Derozan because of his ability to shoot the deep ball. Hes a quality charictor kid too. He’s a gamer!!

ilike.panochasParticipantPlease stop the Grant Hill comparisons. Barnes is not a playmaker that Grant Hill was nor he possessed the elite explosive 1st step that Hill had. He doesn’t touch Hill as a prospect.

apb540ParticipantI am a huge Harrison Barnes supporter. Unless UNC makes a run to the Final Four, I don’t know if he will be the #1 pick. This year seems like the #1 Pick will be based more off of need than BPA.

nateoak10ParticipantPoor mans Durant w/o the rebounding is the closest comparison I can think of

sheltwon3ParticipantBarnes should be at least top 3 with the way he is playing. I do think he needs to work on dribbling and getting to the basket but he may pick up on those things as he grows as a player because he has shown good athleticism at times.

omphalosParticipantOne thing I’ve found disappointing with Barnes is his play off the ball, unless he receives it near the top of the key and goes iso or catches and shoots he doesn’t really cut or move that well. It could just be the way he’s being used by Roy Williams, but it does concern me somewhat.
I’m not sure Toronto is a great fit, yes he can shoot, but he’s also a closer, which might cause friction with DeRozan who is establishing himself as their best player. Might be a bad situation for Barnes and Demar, because neither will reach their potential. I’d rather Kanter or another C so Bargs can be traded or moved to the 4.

EntropyParticipantThere is no John wall in this draft but i think Barnes will turn out to be a pretty good pro.

WizardofOzParticipantjaysmith1987, weren’t you the one saying at the beginning of te year when he had that bad stretch that he was ovverrated and that he would stay in school for his sophomore year? HOP ON!!!

Im Your FatherParticipantHe plays almost nothing like Grant Hill, like I’ve said over and over again. Really the only thing they have in common is size.

IndianaBasketballParticipantHe’s playing better, but I’d like to see him stay in college for at least one more season…

mj23mj23besteverParticipantim an agreement the raps need to go big with kanter and move bargs over to the 4 id love too see barnes slide down to the 8 spot for the cavs as im rooting for them to rebuild and i do think barnes is gonna be a very solid pro still cant decide if the cavs get the no 1 overall do they take williams or the pg of the future in kyrie

SwatLakeCityParticipantWhoever wins the top pick will have a tough decision between Barnes or Irving, Here’s how i see it, if the _____wins the first pick this is who I think they will go with.
Cavs=Irving
Wizards=Barnes (you would think Sullinger or Williams but Barnes is just to good to pass up)
Wolves=Irving (will probably trade Rubio’s rights and Flynn if they win the first pick)
Kings=Irving
Raps=Irving
Jazz=Barnes
Pistons=Could go either way. Stuckey is more a 2 guard, so they could go with Irving and put Stuckey at the two. Also Prince will be gone very soon, so they could go with Barnes as well
It will all depend on who gets the first pick and which need they have.

apb540ParticipantRealgm has a story saying he is leaning towards staying.

SwatLakeCityParticipantWell shut then apb540, we might as well all root for Barnes and the Tarheels as the Champions this year. Zeller vs Sullinger would be one good match up although I do think the Tarheels can beat the Buckeyes. And the Morris twins would also be tough. But if the Tarheels can get past Duke in the Final Four then yeah I think its possible that the Tarheels would win the championship.

cabbycabParticipantYeah, not even close to Grant Hill’s ball handling and all around playmaking. I think the Deng comparison is pretty much right on. I think he will have similar stats as Deng in the league. I do like his demeanor on the court: Never too high and never too low.
