Turns 32 today.  I know Dwyane has been going through personal issues lately but it’s good to see him playing healthy this year after gutting through injuries the last couple of years.  3 time NBA champion and will have to be HUGE in the playoffs this year along with Lebron if Miami wants to go through Indiana and take on the West’s best if they make it to the finals for the fourth straight year.  Happy birthday Flash.

Wade has always been my favorite player that came from the 2003 Draft. Even through the injuries, he’s had an amazing career.

Wade is my favorite player in general. Although his game has declined, I will never forget the 2006 finals against the Mavericks.

34.7, 7.8, 2.6, 1, averages in the 2006 finals against the Mavs.  One of the greatest individual performances in NBA finals history.

Strange to think of D-Wade being almost a veteran now, but he’s had a great NBA career :-

    17,000 career points already

     3 NBA titles

     Scoring Champion once

2 times All NBA Team, 3 times 2nd All NBA Team and 3 times 3rd All NBA Team

    Finals MVP

    16th in career PPG

    9 times All Star

All that is missing is perhaps an MVP award but that is already a HOF worthy career IMO.

Totally agree with everyone.  He truly has had a great career.  What’s cool about Wade is that although his play has declined some he hasn’t fallen completely off.  He is still a really good player.  Explosion not quite what it used to be.  Many players sustain a multitude of injuries over a career but few have had as many surgeries as Wade, and yet still play at the level he does.  His experience, selflessness and willingness to defend still make him an extremely valuable asset.  He is being saved for the playoffs much like Duncan is every year and will come up big time this year in the playoffs I have no doubt.

D-Wade may not be as explosive as he once was but any reduction in his scoring is mainly down to being part of the big 3. The indirect comparision to Tim Duncan by JDT in the above post is very truthful as whilst D-Wade may not be as flashy as other players or even maybe not score quite so heavily, like Tim Duncan his contributions are always hugely effective and telling way beyond what the basic stats say.

I still have a suspicion that D-Wade opts in for the next couple of years as he is due serious money and then look at things when he is 34 and see where the Heat are.
