Grit 'n Grind
Did anyone watch the Pacers @ Grizzlies game earlier? Indiana came out with the W, but Tony Allen's performance in those closing minutes was phenomenal. Talk about hustle. Ever since he's come to Memphis, his signature "Grit n' Grind" has helped turn the Grizzlies to a defensive stopping juggernaut (2nd behind Indiana). He also held Paul George to 12 points, making it hard for him to even touch the ball at certain spots. I know that everyone is talking about either Z-Bo, Marc Gasol and Rudy Gay (rightfully so), but I think Tony Allen deserves some love, too.
I love Tony Allen and think he should be All-Defensive 1st team, but he hardly was all over George as he still had 10 rebounds, 9assists and he is averaging 13ppg on the raod at 37% shooting anyway, so wasn't really surprising.
Tony Allen is only a generous 6'4 but I've seen him check guys like Durant and Kobe, love his hustle he's one of the few players in the league that still likes to get dirty
He brought some toughness and attitude to the team....He gave them an indentity.....
They still dont have many great man to man defenders, but they play great team defense.....NOW IF ONLY THEY CAN ADD SOME CONSISTENT OUTSIDE SHOOTING,then they'll Championship Contenders.....
Haha you could be talking about Memphis or Indiana with that last statement!
so many players deserve love. you are obviously a Memphis fan. like ive always said Jonas Jerebko deserves some love but i have no FKINGGGG I DEA WHY JEREBKO ISNT PLAYING HE ISNT EVEN INJURED.
