JoeWolf1Yeah, He is still pretty raw but i definitely think he’ll be improved, maybe a double double guy 11ppg and 10 rpg and 1.7 bpg or something like that is kinda what i expect him to do, he really needs to learn to stay out of foul trouble

foxman2slyParticipantHe should improve drastically – fully healed, a year older and more experience, but can he stay healthy?

JoeWolf1He looks in great shape with improved fundamentals and his open court speed was impressive for a 280 pounder,

IndianaBasketballParticipantI’ve been super high on him too! I think next season, people will begin to see who the real Greg Oden is. I’m excited. Like I’ve been saying… Oden literally shuts down the paint defensively.

mikeyvthedonParticipantI think people who have read my posts know what I think. Lets just say, I do not let people talk bad about Greg Oden in front of me :). I am very happy to here he is doing well, and I know he is capable of great things. Bringing in Andre Miller makes the Blazers extremely deep and it should also be great for Greg. He works hard, he has desire and the guy knows how to board and block shots. Things are looking very good for him and I am glad it seems the affects of the initial surgery are wearing off and we are seeing the real Greg Oden.

ghostfaceParticipantThe main concern with him will be injuries. I think with more experience, his foul trouble will improve. If he stays healthy I think he will be a good (not great) center who will average a double double. I hope things work out for him because he’s seems to be a really good guy. I’ve heard that he’s very coachable and humble, which is refreshing when you look at all the headcases in the NBA

marcusfizer21ParticipantGreg doesn’t need to score much in PORTLAND since the Blazers are loaded with scorers. Greg just needs to play defense and grab rebounds… That is what they NEED from him… His offense will come through but labeling him as a “BUST” is just plain idiotic right now… Oden has a lot of upside and I appreciate his game because he doesn’t care if he scores 2 or 3 points just as long as he is able to man the paint and grab those rebounds with his freaky arms… The good thing here is he is only 21, i think… He has soooo many years left in his career… To me, he has been impressive and would likely bounce back from a so-so rookie year…

shaq2355ParticipantFizer…couldn’t have said it better myself…Blazers need defense and rebounding from him and thats it…He will avg 8-10 pts a game off put backs and interior passes from the playmakers…Any other offense is just a plus…If he can give them a consistent 10+ reb and 3+ blocks a game, Portland is a team that people should watch out for…

McWinningParticipantyeah he should focus more on d.

GreenLanternParticipantI think G.O. will live up to his #1 pick billing, but he may always be just a notch below Kevin Durant’s status.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 4:12am #192377
IndianaBasketballParticipantMaybe so… BUT not if GO wins a ring first, which is a real possibility.

GreenLanternParticipantGood point tezo. It’s pretty obvious Oden has the edge in that regard right now.

FutureoftheGameHow scary would the blazers be if they had drafted durant?
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 12:52pm #192588
OldSkoolBasketballParticipantWho knows. Durant would take most of Roy and LMA shots away so It might not be a good thing. But on paper it looks scary.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 2:45pm #192675
Da1potParticipantHe needs to especially stay out of foul trouble. Fould trouble and injuries ruin young centers in terms of development and enhancing their skill level.
