The Giannis-Jabari-Monroe froncourt pairing is just so awkward. They clearly don’t fit together and I don’t believe that will change with time. All three live in the paint offensively, while Monroe isn’t the rim-protecter needed to offset the awkward pairing offensively. Giannis and Jabari are both young and special talents and untradeable at this point.

The Celtics have a plethora of assets that should be turned into tangible players at some point. There is such a thing as having too many assets and players, so why not unload some for Greg Monroe? The Celtics have a huge logjam at the four and the five spots, but don’t have a true legit starter in that group. While the Celtics #1 priority is and should be Cousins, I don’t see the Kings unloading him…at least not yet. So the Celtics go to their plan B, Greg Monroe.

Boston trades: Jared Sullinger/Kelly Olynyk, David Lee, and one of their 2016 first round picks

    Milwaukee trades: Greg Monroe

    Thoughts?

So you think Celtics would sell the farm for a player that is both expensive and limited?  That sounds like a bit too much for Boston to give up.

Monroe is clearly an upgrade over either Sullinger or Olynyk, so the Celtics give up something additional (1st rounder) to make the deal even. Not saying I consider Monroe a good fit for the Celtics, or that I believe Monroe is someone you want to build your team around, but that is the logic behind the idea I guess.

Haha yeah those first round picks are a gold mine the Nets will be so terrible, not a chance in hell Boston would give up ANY of those picks, regardless of the year.

I can’t see Ainge giving up so much for Monroe.  Kelly is very important to Boston’s ability to spread the floor for our wing players to get into the paint.  Even Sully can at least be a threat from mid-range which is something Monroe cannot do.

I was thinking along the lines of Monroe and MCW to the Pelicans for Ryan Anderson and Jrue Holiday. Works cap wise.

Monroe needs to play with another big that can step outside and defend well, and AD checks those boxes. I think after Jrue’s injuries since he arrived they wouldnt be opposed to moving him. They have made it public knowledge in teh last week that they want to start moving players.

This gives the Bucks a PG tht is more of an outside threat, and that works better with there spacing. Anderson is no doubt a big help with that too, whether he starts or comes off the bench. Gives Hesnson more time too, something that improves the team defensively.

Pels – MCW Gordon Evans AD Monroe

    Bucks – Holiday – Middleton – Greek Freak – Jabari/Anderson – Henson

I’m pretty sure you got this trade off of a bleacherreport article. That’s bad enough

Monroe isnt the reason why Milwaukee can’t spread the floor.

    Theres very few 3 & D centers.

Problem is no-one on the team can Shoot!

I disagree with most people here, and think this trade is fair. Trading free agent to be Sully (There is no way they include Olynyk and keep Sully if they get Monroe), the corpe of David Lee who is most likely going to be bought out if we can’t find a trade for him, and a first round pick the organization is actively trying to consolidate is fair value for Monroe.

The only problem with this trade is you’re basically trading a first and Sully, for a 25 year old Sully. Both guys are slow big men, good rebounders, good passers, good man to man defenders in the post, and both lack shooting and rim protection. Neither team wins in this situation, and Boston loses their cap space, and MIL has to pay Sully big bucks, something they should have just done with Knight.

I agree that both teams should move on from these players and make similar deals, but I just don’t see how they would be good trade partners right now unless the Bucks want to talk Middleton or Parker. And that’s at about 0% of happening
