Lets assume that the Grizzles do take Hasheem with the 2nd pick for team needs and to avoid the risk of Rubio’s signability (I know there are many other scenarios like trades etc.)
Then the Thunder will be on the clock. Rumor is they covet Harden and they already have a point guard in Westbrook. If Harden slips past the Kings and Wizards, (Kings need a pg and Washington is high on Hill) A possible great trade partner would be the T wolves at number 6. Here is how it could work…

OKC drafts Rubio and trades to Minnesota….
    Rubio
    Jeff Green

    Minnesota trades to OKC…
    Harden
    Kevin Love
(either this years 18th pick or preferably next years first round)

This trade works for OKC because Jeff Green’s natural position is the 3, the Thunder need an inside scorer and rebounder, and they are already looking to draft Harden anyway. Plus they can look to draft a solid player at 18 or acuire the TWolves pick next year and get an athletic center to complement Love. (Aldrich, Davis, Favors, ext.) Minnesota needs a PG (especially one who could bring fans back to the games) and a small forward. Green would play better alongside Jefferson than Love would. This trade addresses both team needs perfectly.

Potential Starting lineup in 2010 for OKC
C – (Aldrich, Favors, Davis, Motiejunas)
    PF – Love
    SF – Durant
    SG – Harden
    PG – Westbrook

Starting Lineup for Twolves in 2010
C – (Acquire one through free agency (Birdman?) or drafting Mullins in this year’s draft)
    PF – Jefferson
    SF – Green
    SG – Foye
    PG – Rubio
or they could play small with Green at PF and miller at the SF.

Let me know what you think. I never post random trade ideas, just bored in summer school.

the knicks are looking to trade lee and robinson. why not try to trade robinson, the 8th pick, and cash for the 2nd pick and take rubio. Diantoni will love him and hell love to play there. then memphis can pick up jordan hill or tyreke evans and have cash for the free agency. plus then the knicks will open up a little more cap space

think before you say team needs. grizz need a true powerfoward more than anything. not another center. have you ever watched the grizzlies play? i mean besides when they play the teams you like

Dlipto…Robinson will be a restricted free agent…sign-and-trades can’t start until July…and Joe2BA…as stated before I don’t think Rubio would want to play for Minny, and they’re in love with Love (no pun intended)

let’s assume otherwise because Memphis is not drafting a back up center with the number 2 pick when they desperately need a staring power forward or an upgrade at point guard. I’m so sick of everyone assuming Memphis is going to take Thabeet. The #2-#4 swap will happen with Hawes/Thompson in the deal. If it happens Do not be surprised if Tyreke Evans is the pick and Mayo moves over and plays point guard.

    Mayo-Evans-Gay-Thompson-Gasol

I think Hill is their ultimate goal coming out of this draft, but if they can get Thompson and compensation for swapping two spots then I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Tyreke Evans is the pick. Mayo’s made it perfectly clear he wants to be the starting point guard for this team and I wouldn’t mind seeing it.

I don’t think the Kings trade Thompson or Hawes just to move up 2 slots. The 2-4 swap can happen but either the Kings give up someone other than Hawes, Thompson, or Kevin Martin, or the Grizzlies give up more to get Thompson. If they really want Thompson, perhaps a package of #2, Arthur, and Warrick can be enough for #4 and Thompson.

Grizz- It will never change, I think aside from a handful of people I’m sure anyone on this website who has watched a Grizzlies game watched it against on of the lakers 40+something televised games this year. Thabet and Gasol is a train wreck waiting to happen.

Knicks- I put an initial one out and revamped it up about a week ago. I’m going to fine tune the shit out of it when the drop outs emerge. I personally don’t see Teague, Daye, and lawal for starting staying in. So Why bother vamping up past the lotto if their not going to be in ya know.

I think K Love works well in OKC(He is a pg in a PF body)(and LOVES to rebound hahaha). And I love Rubio in ‘Sota.

Minnesota has proved they potentially can be a suitable market for a superstar player when Kevin Garnet was once one of the highest paid players in the game, an MVP, and carried several major endorsements. Minnesota is NOT Memphis. The problem is not Minnesota, its been Mchale. However I do agree that Hasheem going to Memphis is far from being set in stone. I was just showing a hypothetical scenario (and Hasheem going to Memphis is more possible and logical than most of your argument show.) But assume Memphis doesn’t want to pick Thabeet at 2, they could still possibly get him at 4 along with d-grizzleys power forward he desperately wants…..

Memphis could draft Rubio and trade to Sacramento….
    Rubio,
    Arthur,
    Expiring contract

Sacramento could draft Thabeet (Sources say Presti isn’t impressed with Hasheem and wants Harden) and trade to Memphis..
    Hasheem Thabeet
    Jason Thomson

Sacramento gets their potential star point guard and a more athletic power forward in Arthur who would thrive alongside with Rubio.

Memphis gets the shot blocking they have needed for 10 years and a good young power forward in Thomson. BAM!!!

Hasheem going to Memphis would just be out of stupidity.

If Rubio ends up being up for grabs watch out for LAC to move back in to try to get him. Dunleavy absolutely loves him and they would give up almost anything to get him.
