I think the Rookie of the Year Award will go to Kemba Walker, of the Bobcats.

He has the best oppertunity out there to score for his team.  He was a scorer in college, and he will be given the "green-light" to create offense for the Bobcats.  I think he has a very good chance of taking the starting Point Guard job away from D.J. Augustine, as he hasn’t played up to the hype and the expectations for himself.

Kemba can easily create offense for himself, and even for other players, and he will be the only player on that team giving that fan base any hope at all.  Corey Maggette is old, and even though he is the "go-to" guy, I think Kemba is smarter than to pass the ball to him as much as Maggette would like.  Other than Maggette, Kemba doesn’t have to worry about anyone else.

Kemba can do the scoring and D.J. Augustine can do a little bit of scoring and a majority of the passing from the Point Guard position.

I don’t get where people are getting the "Irving will get to do what he wants" idea from. Baron Davis and Ramon Sessions are still on the Cavs. There has been no talk of Baron getting let go. So there are 3 quality point guards on the team to share time. Davis would start I think as he is the veteran and they need to showcase what he can do if they wanna dump him. Irvings would be the backup and Sessions would be the third string, not getting much time at all. Irving also has that foot injury which could stick around with him and I don’t think he has played much ball after getting it healed up. He also plays on a bad team so defenses might actually key on him (who else they going to key on) so that will make it tougher for him as he will be the other team’s focus. Assist numbers might be low to cause his teammates kinda suck, not many shooters and not many strong athletic finishers..

Irving will be good, but I don’t see exceptional numbers this year from him. He will get better in years to come, but I never really see a star out of him, especially compared to all the other point guards.
