Who do you think is the best fit for the Warriors? An athletic wingman like Wes Johnsn or a potential pick and roll player like Greg Monroe that could work with Steph Curry?

Monroe, the Warriors don’t have a great post game, and that could definitely give them a good post game. Monroe could draw players off of Curry as well.

Trade the pick plus Monta for Iguodala!

Doesn’t matter who goes to the Warriors, rookie or vet, that team will not be good again until Nellie gets the hell out of there

Hassan Whiteside? Really? Maybe if they traded down, but he’d be a huge reach at the 6th pick.

    Let’s see…
1-John Wall. This is a no-brainer for Washington.
2-Evan Turner. Again, this is a no-brainer, even if Iguodala plays the same position…you can move Iggy pretty easily for some decent talent and/or draft picks.
3-Derrick Favors. Fits perfectly with Lopez, and being in the same frontcourt with Lopez will give Favors some time to work on his offensive game, as he won’t have to carry that load.
4-Wesley Johnson. The T-Wolves need a wing player badly, and Johnson is pretty much a safe pick with crazy athleticism. They would’ve preferred Turner, but Johnson is a decent consolation prize. They don’t pick Cousins, because they already have similar players in Love and Jefferson.
5-DeMarcus Cousins/Greg Monroe. The Kings have a difficult choice here, as Cousins is a beast down low, but Monroe is a better passer and a high-iq player. I’d say they’d take Cousins, since he has more size, more strength, and better post moves…but his off the court character issues may be a factor. 65-35 in favor of Cousins.
6-DeMarcus Cousins/Greg Monroe/Al-Farouq Aminu. What the Warriors do with the 6th pick will depend on what the Kings do with the 5th pick. Cousins is a question mark with the Warriors because of the style that they run; he played 24 minutes a game at Kentucky, and the Warriors are a run-and-gun team, so Don Nelson may not want him. Whether or not Nelson has any say depends on if new management has arrived (or if the bidding process is close to being finished) by the time of the draft.
Monroe is a better fit here, as he is a big man who rebounds decently, can run the floor, and is a good passer; basketball IQ seems to translate decently in the NBA, and Monroe has a good feel for the game.
Aminu is another question mark; while he has considerable athleticism, he is a 4 in a 3’s body, and so lacks a true position. Aminu is a project, so again, it would depend on the direction the Warriors are taking (rebuilding vs. win now)

And we take one of those guys. If not it’s a toss up between trading the pick, Aminu or Monroe

I really hope the Warriors don’t draft Aminu; he could definitely be a bust, given his lack of true position. And Aldrich, while a good fit, is not going to develop any more than he has already…if they draft him, he will be a decent starter, but nothing else.

Cousins is a better player than Johnson, in my opinion; I’m not sold on Johnson’s defensive ability, since he did play in Syracuse’s 2-3 zone all last year, and the zone hides how good/bad a defender is…Johnson’s inability to truly create his own shot is also a potential problem.

One will most likely be available. I’d cry if we got Aldrich and have to kill a b**** lol. Aminu is going to be a good defender no doubt but the question is how will his offense translate. With a guy like Steph Aminu will get a lot of easy looks

But would you rather have Aminu or Monroe? Because I’d think Monroe and Aminu are both likely to be available (depending on how they do at the combine, of course)

Maggette has to be moved, doesnt fit in an up tempo team and has a huge contract and Aminu can rebound and play D with a huge ceiling.

Who would take on Maggette’s crap contract? I mean, I agree with you in that Maggette should be moved, if possible, but teams would definitely not be willing to take him for good young pieces; the best we can get is probably expirings ala Jamal Crawford, and that’s if we’re lucky.

Aminu, if he proves that he can play the SF, would be my first choice too, but his college game didn’t show that. Monroe, on the other hand, is smart, and even if he isn’t the most athletic prospect, intelligence translates to the NBA (as Steph Curry has shown this year). A lineup of Curry-Ellis-Maggette-Randolph-Monroe seems more palatable, especially since Biedrins will be easier to move than Maggette (hopefully for some good wing player).

Greg Monroe is a “Don Nelson player, he loves big man who can play in the perimiter, pass the ball, and handle it a little. Coach Nelson will probably remind Monroe of a less athletic Chris Webber.

Dealing Maggs would just require lowing the price to almost nothing

Remember though, teams like to pick potential and reach a bit for someone so Aminu may be gone b4 we pick and maybe Monroe as well

Im pretty sure Aminu and Monroe will both be available at #6 selection, im 100% certain. If either one is gone, then that means one of the “Blue Chip” would slip such as Cousins or Favors, and I can’t see either one of those guys being available when the Warriors pick.

Motiejunas should be picked by Golden State, he’s a very skilled four a la Nowitzki and is way better than Nowitzki when he entered the League. He ouplayed Cousins in last year Hoop Summit and runs the court very well. His 9.5pts in tough Italian League also speaks for his case

I do like Monroe with this pick. GS failed with a couple picks, drafting/acquiring raw/athletic big men. With Don Nelson there, I think you have to take a more polished, talented big men.
