burningfloodParticipantYes, I know it’s early in the season, but the Warriors improved to 4-1 tonight…not with offense, not with Monta Ellis or Stephen Curry or David Lee pulling out all the stops on that side of the ball, but with defense.
Yes, there were defensive lapses, and yes, the Warriors aren’t exactly lockdown defenders. But they play scrappy, they play with hustle, and the chemistry is there. Gadzuric is looking like more than just an expiring contract (that’s not saying much, but it’s still a pleasant surprise), and Biedrins is showing that he is an integral part to the team (with his 20 rebound performance). Yes, he doesn’t provide offense in that he does not have any post game or go to moves, but he still plays decent defense and he is a rebounding beast.
And it was rebounding won us the game tonight. We shot a poor percentage from the field, Monta was cold, but we rebounded, we won the second-chance point battle, and we outgrinded the Jazz. And now we’re 4-1, and 4-0 at home. Can we make the playoffs? If we play like this every night, even when we’re not shooting the ball well and our offense isn’t clicking, I think we can make it. The chemistry’s there. The heart’s there. And when Udoh and Amundson come back from injury, we’ll have even more interior defense.
Next week’s road trip will be a test, but we’re playing some relatively subpar teams…let’s go Warriors!

hoodwinkParticipantCongrats, man. I’m around the corner in Sac and feelin’ a lot of the same way about my team. The Kings have a favorable early schedule (almost until February), and then the second half is just grueling.
Anyway, I can’t wait to watch the Interstate-80 matchup this year. They should be some fun, high-scoring games.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantDude… Tell me something.. Why doesnt Reggie Williams play more?? IMO, this guy is better than Carney and Wright.. I can see starting Wright over him because of defenise matchups and his ability to handle 2s and 3s but Williams should spell every player 1-3 the whole game.. He can play all of those spots very well and is one of the most versaitle players on the team but he only gets like 14 min a game… WTF?? What is your opinion on that?

llperezwarriors are 4-1 and rockets have yet to win. I guess thats why we play the games. Good for the warriors. Everyone knows they offensive talent. Getting udoh and amundson back wont hurt either. But the only game i have seen of them was the lakers smashing them by 24, so ill wait and see before i consider them playoff contenders.
