So, everyone seems to have ideas on trades, so do we. See them here. sportstearsinourbeers.blogspot.com/2011/06/nba-draft-preview-timberwolves-edition.html

One that I think would be fun is this:

package the 2nd and 20th pick to the Golden State Warriors for Monta Ellis and the 11th pick. Monta can play the 2 which is a spot we need filled. Than, with the 11th pick, you take Bismack Biyombo.

Both would be players we need big time.

Is it wishful thinking on the Timberwolves/my part? Of course. But that is what’s fun about Draft Day. It might be the best holiday in MN.

    What ideas do you have?

I think that makes sense for both teams. Derrick Williams would fit well in GS. Then the Warriors could target someone like Donatas Motiejunas or Kenneth Faried.

    The T-Wolves would then have:

    PG-Rubio

    SG-Ellis

    SF-Beasley

    PF-Love

    C-Biyombo

A little undersized but quick and athletic enough to make up for it. They would have little point production from the 1 and 5 spots which could be an issue.

I like it, but don’t see it happening, mostly due to Biyombo not being there at 11.  Minn would have to love Vucevic for that to happen, and I don’t think they’d have to include #20 neccessarily, given how sparse the interest in Monta supposedly is.  I think Monta may need a team where he can be a shoot first 1.  He just can’t cover 2s… then again, he’s so bad at change of direction, maybe he just can’t cover anyone.

I kinda like that idea. However, like PulseGlazer says, what if Bismack isn’t there at 11? Maybe trade the 11 and some combination of players to Portland and try to pry Greg Oden out from them? I dunno, just an idea.

Minnesota might be better off taking Enes Kanter #2 and then Marshon Brooks or Jordan Hamilton at #20
