Lotto StudParticipantI know everyone thinks that the dunk contest had been weak over the years. I like the rest of you are tired of seeing the same people in it. I made a list of players I think that are capable of giving us a good show that needs to be voted in for the contest. A lot of the players I have either seen in past dunk contests or seen what they are capable of doing on highlight reels. If you have a player in mind feel free to add to my list!!!!!

Lotto StudParticipantBron will never enter because he’s not creative enough I think. He’s a game dunker if any of you may notice, implus he wasn’t that spectacular in the McDonald’s contest he just elevated on his dunks. J.R.Giddens/Shannon brown got robbed!!!!

My ? to you Jorrye is why not Jennings he’s a very creative dunker for his size
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/14/2010 - 8:41am #354111
CameronParticipantNo Clue about McRoberts but he used to be an impressive dunker. I’m pretty sure Bill Walker has lost a lot of his explosiveness due to knee injuries and I’m not sure how good he would be now but back in the day he could jump.
Guillermo Diaz (not currently in the NBA) could be an impressive option as he had a 50 inch vert in high school.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/14/2010 - 8:43am #354113
Lotto StudParticipantIs Sam Young a creative dunker or game dunker because you have to be crative to be in the contest I think.

Sam Young is a pretty flashy dunker. He’s creative, not a power dunker really.

0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/14/2010 - 9:17am #354138
JNixonParticipantHe probably just wouldn’t do it. He’s a future All-Star player, and I have doubts he’d be a Slam-Dunk participant next year. He’s more of a Skills Challenge type to me.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/14/2010 - 9:17am #354139
Lotto StudParticipantI didn’t mention Terrico White because I never seen him in a contest & I don’t know what he’s capable of…. all I know is he has a 40 inch vert & he’s a “game dunker”

SteroidParticipantI think T Will will be good in the dunk contest.
The last contest was HORRIBLE! Last year also showed that guys with high verticals and “in-game dunkers” don’t always translate into good competition dunkers.

0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/15/2010 - 10:25am #354836
PureshooterParticipantPatrick Ewing, Jr…..if he makes a team.
That 50″ vertical measurement for Diaz is ridiculous. If he is 6’2″ then that would mean he could just about get his nose to the rim. His max vert in 2006 was 42″ according to an article at draftexpress.com
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/15/2010 - 10:56am #354889
Michael.S.ParticipantWhy does everyone say Jennings is an exceptional athlete and great dunker? He caught one dunk last year, one. on a fast break and it wasn’t anything special. He wouldn’t do anything noteworthy in a dunk contest.

OhCanada-ParticipantI think Derozan will get another shot. I also think Weems will get a shot but that they wouldnt let 2 Raptors in the contest.Williams should get an oppurtunity. If Robinson is in again Im going to be very upset so Ill leave him out in my prediction.Javale Mcgee should definitely break out this year and deliver along side Wall.He will get a shot.Paul George should also break out along with Griffin and many other players but Ill take Griffin due to market value. Favors and Johnson could also get some play.

joecheck88Participantbest dunk contest, imo, would be 1 point guard, 1 big man, and two 6 foot 6 to 6 foot 8 guards or forwards.
pg- d rose, jennings, westbrook, wall
big man-javale mcgee, ryan hollins, serge ibaka
swingmen- t williams, weems, nick young, gerald henderson
that list and then there are the usuals like iguodala, the smiths(josh & jr), dwight, kryptonate, lebron, amare, etc.
it would also be cool if they let the d league winner dunk against the nba guys.

Lotto StudParticipantIt’s official now my boy Brandon Jennings said he will be in the dunk contest…….Now I just gotta hope he don’t pull an Iverson like he did he rookie year due to a misterious injury.
Griffin-6’10”
McGee-7’0”
Ibaka-6’10”
Jennings-6’1”
I guess Jennings is outsized by a large margin, even if he does not win it although he is my pick. He will put on a show from the dunks I’ve seen him do before in his dunk mix.

Tobe BryantParticipantI like the criteria of using a starting five kinda, picking players from each position. With that said, I would like this contest:
PG: Brandon Jennings- His dunks during games say that he is capable of slamming at that height. But his freestyles in warmups and old Allstate games were RIDICULOUS! This guy does most flashy dunks with almost ease. At 6’1, it’ll be pretty fun watching. I think he will participate this year, he was scheduled last year, but injury kept him out.
SG: Russell Westbrook- NO! He’s not a SG, but he plays one on TV. He is so explosive, I would like to see him do some damage in a contest. His fire and flair will be on full display also.
SF: Terrence Williams- Freak athlete! Seen him do some awesome finna during games. A combo of power and grace while slamming.
PF: Of course I would throw Blake Griffin here. I don’t know of his willingness to participate, but we can do it if possible.
C: DeAndre Jordan- Two teammates from Lob City should make for the viewings to be raised. A deceptive power dunker with a frame built to do unreal big man slams.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/18/2012 - 10:46am #626228
Lotto StudParticipantI highly doubt Jennings would participate this year. Iverson did not re-enter the following year after his "injury"
