Saw a video of Fultz via Keith Pompey pre-Philly-Miami game warming up.  Although I don’t understand why the Sixers don’t have either Simmons or Fultz bending their knees at all during free throws, Fultz actually looked pretty good, at least he was much better than his usual self.  He was consistently hitting his shots in the paint and free throw line.

People are complaining why he never shoots threes, but I’m fine with him restricted to within the free throw line paint.  Form is everything, he has a lot to get back in order.  Any shooting coach can point out 4 or 5 things he needs to work on, but to be honest right now he looks okay.

I don’t know if its a day to day basis for him.  I think its more confidence than structural.  But its also still not fluid, but Fultz was never the ideal shooting form, and even when he runs he looks a little gimpy.

I think they should bring him back after the all-star break.  If you think they’ll hold him back until next year then explain why?  I think his confidence might be slightly at stake, but the Sixers need to stop overprotecting him.  Once that form gets consistent bring him back.

From the video I saw, even his free throws looked better.  He still sin’t shooting through his legs maybe thats not the focus right now.  But I badly want to see him out there.  Are we getting close?

I think Fultz’s prior form was pretty textbook. Again, this was probably the biggest strength in his game (his ability to pull up on an absolute dime and space the floor well) and what led to him being drafted as highly as he was.

He was your ideal new age point/combo guard with a great shooting stroke and slashing ability. When you take away his jumpshot, it really hurts his outlook.

I don’t think he should play a game until his jumpshot looks like it did before, with a higher release and fluid motion.

He’ll be ok, probably really good, but he won’t be back til he’s hitting from 3. Next season.

I wanna find out who Philly goes after as the 3rd unicorn. They are at 9 and 15 in the draft.

I think I might double down on potent perimeter guys. Probably can’t go out and get Trae Young.

I think about packaging one of those picks with Fultz and maybe a backup big or wing then go get your wing options of the future. Mikal Bridges should be a rich man’s Covington at worst and maybe a mini Kawhi Leonard.  Then Porter Jr as your big 3 man dynamo scorer. Saric stays at the 5.  Then I sign a 3rd Big this offseason.

I will take Simmons, Mikal, Porter, Saric, and Embiid.  With Cabarot, Covington, and Amir Johnson or the Amir replacement off the bench. Then I like the gritty speedster Chris Chiozza of Florida as a TJ McConnell replacement (if you have to move him).

Go out and get this generation’s Robert Horry or Bobby Jones in next year’s draft.

With Embiid and Simmons I just want more youth, size, length, and scoring.  Saric is a decent complementary second big — and I wouldn’t overpay for a glorified 3rd big.

Jonah Bolden will probably come over next year.  Saric is a perimeter guy in this offense, he is currently being miscast as a big. He can’t box out and doesnt switch when gaurding the paint. Same goes for RoCo. Its fine to have one player like that but they need to move Saric to a facilitating role off the bench or move him all together.

Watch for them to go after a 3rd unicorn in FA. I think they grab a solid rotation piece in the draft. Maybe Carter Jr. or Mikal Bridges. I would love for Jaren Jackson to drop but probably w’ont fall to 9.

They need to offer a package of either first rounders and/or some to all of the expiring contracts for a real star right now. Booker, Johnson and Redick are all expiring and are on around the $35-40mil mark  collectively. They aren’t going to get a free agent worth paying that much. They can have Fultz as their rookie next year. They need a big time wing player, a go to scorer a shooter. Just go down the list til you get the best guy you can yet. Start at KD, then Kawhi, then just keep asking. My target is CJ McCullom. He is gettable in my opinion, Portland are hemorrhaging cash and they need to improve. I’d like to see them get PG-13 and CJ. That’d be a destructive team.

At worst, Avery Bradley would be a good fit. They could get him and Lou Will, then bring over Bolden. Thanks could play Simmons, Bradley, Covington, Bolden, Embiid then Fultz, LouWill and Saric off the bench. nbsp
