10-15 mpg.  This will be interesting with the Sixers getting into the playoffs last night.  Question to the panel…Is there enough time to acclimate Fultz in to the rotation?  Do you remove him from the rotation come playoff time if he is struggling on either end of the court?

I think that whether Fultz can be integrated into the rotation is totally on Fultz.  If he can shoot, and play well, then yes there is plenty of time to get him slotted in the rotation in time to be a part of the playoffs.  But if his confidence/poor play/injury/broken shot are still issues then he will be out of the rotation for the rest of the year.  Whatever was going on with Fultz, if he is coming back tonight then the coaches must be ok with him physicially.  So, we will see if he is mentally at the level where he needs to be to develop and contribute.  But I think that he will be on a very short leash.  Philly is playing pretty well without him, and there is no way that the organizaiton is going to jeopardize momentum for Fultz, if Fultz looks like he did a few months ago.  I am pulling for the kid.  But yeah, I think there is plenty of time to get Fultz rolling with this team as long as Fultz has all of issues worked out.

Tbh I’d shut him down and let him fully recover and prep for off season workouts. Summer league and pre season unleash him completely. Don’t want his confidence shaken or put the pressure on him to perform in limited minutes.

imagine if this kid is ready to drive and kick? Or ready to Iso score and draw fouls?

I think he’d make it hard for any team to guard us, We’d have Joel in the paint drawing fouls, Ben at the top of the key driving and drawing fouls, and than Fultz Isolating his man and drawing fouls off the bench…

This could be a very interesting playoff if Fultz is anything near what we drafted him to be

Agreed. So hoping the Sixers capture the 3rd seed. If they do I can see them making the ECF

There has to be a concerted effort to get these young guys playoff experience.  Even if they get bounced in the first round its still a necessary step.

I read that he won’t be on a minute restriction. I don’t know whose Situation is More Bizarre Fultz or Leonard?

Leonard. I don’t get it. I can only guess that he wants out. But why?

The Spurs are a very respected team (though I don’t like them) and they’ll still  go limping into playoffs without Leonard. They wouldn’t be champions with him. Is that his problem? They didn’t make big moves like Cleveland. Is that his issue?

Maybe he really does feel injured. I doubt it, but maybe. But the Spurs wouldn’t risk it with s guy signed for another year and they’re one of the more cautious teams with injuries.

If he isn’t injured, how can he refuse to play the playoffs? How? What would other teams think of a player who does that? What else might he do?

If teams believe he’s sitting out playoffs without a real medical reason, that tanks his trade value and personal value in the league. What would the Spurs do?

I don’t know why Leonard would think the Spurs aren’t contenders if he’s playing at a high level. They were beating the crap out of the Warriors in the playoffs last year until he got hurt. The Spurs are deeper this year than last and have figured out how to best utilize Aldridge.

If Leonard really just doesn’t want to play for the Spurs anymore, he’s going about it in a totally self-destructive way. He’s under contract to the Spurs next season. The Spurs are not going to trade him in the offseason with his value at an all-time low. So what’s he going to do, sit out next year too? What kind of contract does he expect to be offered in the summer of 2019 if he hasn’t played in two years? If he wants to move on and get a max contract, he’s going to have to suit up and play for the Spurs at some point. So why not do it now?

At this point I think the simplest explanation makes the most sense — Kawhi really does believe there’s something not right with his body.

Yeah. The Spurs r a Tight Knit Organization and few things get Leaked out. But someway that ‘players only ‘ meeting was reported to the media. Stephen Jackson said Pop might’ve put them up to it. And a few days later Parker said his quad injury was 100 times worst than Leonard ‘s injury. Leonard hasn’t spoken about his possible return. It’s all Very Bizarre .

He will have to play well to beat out TJ McConnell for the backup PG spot. McConnell has been really solid running the offense, not turning it over and shooting well when he has to.

Thanks holefillers I wouldnt have tuned in if you didnt post it. So heres the deal…

He played only backup PG minutes to Simmons. He will not be playing with Simmons because he cant shoot from the perimeter. Its obvious. He is playing exactly like Simmons and not looking for his shot, dribbles the ball up halfcourt, engages the offensive set, then finds his way inside the three point line looking for cutting lanes to recieve passes from as the offense continues around him. Had one impressive finish where he created offense on a drive to the bucket and finished with contact shielding the ball for the layup. All his other points were layups on cuts to the basket or on the break but he was a dynamic and explosive finisher. Took one midrange jumpshot and got it blocked. Also got a floater blocked. I think he played great defensively and was very explosive and strong. His combination of strength, length and athletisism is rare at that position. He also had very good court vision and seemed to know exactly where his teammates were at all times. I was impressed. He reminds me of Derrick Rose with no jumpshot/better vision. Philly needs him to hit jumpers though so sucks for them but they are making the best of it by having him mirror Simmons and creating continuity at the PG position because of thier contrasting weaknesses.

How anyone could watch this game and make a Derrick Rose comparison blows my mind. The old, injured Rose is more athletic than Fultz right now, not to mention their games are NOTHING alike. He looked slow with limited bounce, resorts to spin dribbles with no plan to get by his man and had to layup what should’ve been open dunks. Obviously just his first game back, and you’ve got to appreciate his aggressiveness, but he didn’t look great.

Fultz isn’t the same player as Simmons. Fultz will regain the elite scorer and shooter level. The Sixers drafted Fultz to play with Simmons and when they finally get on that stage, watch out.

How do you guard that team?

our little bro seems to be okay.  i love the way he is embraced as the younger bro by everyone.

this team is awesome, they play so fun moving the ball.  Fultz had the advantage of playing iwth Saric Ilyasova and Belinelli together, all who were whipping the ball around.

I did not like how the offense was run when he first got in.  It was basically a give and watch a guy go to work, that 1 on 1 basketball without hte movement.

He obviously has a ton to learn but he’s 19 and he’s playing the type of ball I love…ball movement basketball and he has some great eurostyle mentors on this team.  I think Tatum has a higher IQ right now, but Fultz is in the best situation in the NBA and was taken #1 overall.

Fultz ability to hit hte midrange was oh so sorely missed on this team.  He already is a solid guard in that he knwos his personnel.  He dribbled his way into the defense and found his shooters like Covington.

His "slow" appearing game or lack of athleticism, is really just old school pace.  It was his first game.  I’ve seen it first hand he has some pretty scary athleticism with windmill dunks, he just threw up some soft layups his confidence will definitely grow as he plays more.  Give him five games.  He already has a great knack for pace, and remember right now he’s our backup guard, the role TJ had.  He will chew up backup guards in this league.

I absolutely cannot wait, for Fultz to learn the Ginobli role in Brett Brown’s offense.  Young buck loves that spin move, but when his drive and dish becomes second nature, I can’t wait for Simmons to handoff him the ball, watch him beat his man into the paint and throw up the lob for an Embiid flush or a kickout to Covington or Reddick or Saric.  Things are looking good!!!

I kind of liked the fact that they just decided to play him last minute. That way it wasn’t built up as some big event and it removed some of the pressure and suspense that he would of had to deal with if it had been announced in advance.

Overall, Fultz looked good. The jumper off the bounce was fluid, although he didn’t take any in catch and shoot situations or from long range. It was a good game to get some confidence under his belt against a not so great defensive team. We will see if he can build off this. I think there are still some things he needs to iron out and I wouldn’t expect much from him for the rest of the season and the playoffs this year. At this point it’s just good to see him on the court though.

     on that Sixers starting Unit

It’s clear Fultz has to adjust to the speed at which NBA players can close distance & their length & early he had a few shots blocked b/c of that but that’s something Any Rookie must adjust to & it’s a fairly easy adjustment

But even in the beginning of the season when Fultz could Not shoot he was Avg a pretty crazy 5.7 FTA’s per 36 min so he gets to the Rim off the dribble whenever he wanted –

Last night in the 2nd half – And it was Not garbage time – Fultz played late in the 3rd Qtr of a 3 point game & he was very smooth, effortlessly explosive – he completely puts defenders on their heels & can get his shot any time he wants – he’s got a beautiful shot

This is a Big deal for the playoffs b/c Phila’s 2nd Unit was a major weakness all year b/c they had No one who could create a shot for himself or teammates. Phila added Belleneli & Ilyasova which were Great additions b/c they are both floor spacers but adding Fultz puts So much pressure on the Def & gives even more space for these 2nd team shooters b/c Fultz is a Much better passer than advertised – he scored 10 (ALL of Dribble penetration for a drive or pull up jumper) & had 8 assists in less than 14 minutes

This Phila team is a Dangerous team b/c you now have 3 players who must be double teamed & a whole bunch of shooters surrounding the perimeter – they ALL share the basketball & they are a Top 3 Defensive team – that’s unheard of for a team this Young – Brett Brown has done a Great job

I was impressed — when he got the ball up top he had this kind of hop in his step, like he was thinking, "I’m going to do something ridiculous and no one can stop me. This game is easy for me." Harden gets that same kind of bounce, not that Fultz is anywhere in Harden’s league yet. But the confidence was impressive for a guy who’s supposedly afraid to shoot.

Also his passing is really solid. All three of those white European guys on the Sixers are great at moving without the ball and Fultz was finding them the second they got open and hitting them right in the numbers. There’s maybe a little bit of Celtics-era Rondo in Fultz.

If he is ready to go I think they have to run with him. Philly have their play off spot guaranteed and so once they may ease or rest workload on key players. This will give Fultz minutes before the play offs.

I think he really should be in play off roster as he could be their X-Factor type guy they can use as an impact player around the core and the experienced role players. He may only be a bench guy for play offs but could be a nice option to have.

All will of course depend how well he shapes up in rest of regular season but if he has been cleared then intention must be to use him in platy offs as having him play and then cutting him from play off roster wouldn’t do his confidence any good.

Well dont get too excited yet. He had a decent showing in his first game back but expectations should remain low. Denver has one of the leagues worst defences and road records and they played in Philly. His jumpshot was easy to block and he often dribbled into trouble. His last two minutes were granted because Philly was up by 20 and the crowd chantedf Fultz, Fultz Fultz to get him on the floor. This is where 2 of 3 jumpshots fell but he missed the other I think 5 or 6 some pretty badly. A good defensive team could really break this guy. He shows alot of promise but theres still alot of work to be done, he’s just lucky he has a great fanbase like Phillies behind him and teammates that all care about his success. I think he will be fine because of that.

Fultz won’t fit together b/c neither can shoot the ball which is odd b/c Fultz mid range hesi pull up Jumper looked pretty sweet

But put that aside for a moment – Fultz is one of the best weak side instinctive cutters to enter the draft recently –

    So what does that mean?

What it means is you have Ben Simmons – an absolute Beast who really can not be guarded by one man – Al Horford is on record saying ALL 5 players have to form a picket fence around the lane or Simmons will punish you you attacking the Rim – so all 5 players have one eye on Simmons – a guy who’s passing ability is a cross between Lebron James & Magic Johnson & Fultz – a instinctive back door cutter w/ explosive leaping ability & the inate mind set to attack the Rim every chance he gets

Right there they are a Perfect fit & I did not even mention Joel Embiid who the Defense must give even More attention than Simmons b/c he Must be Double teamed

Fultz won’t start until next season but when Embiid, Simmons & Fultz are on the floor at the same time they now have a personnel package that I just don’t see how Any team can defend that on offense & on Defense they’ll be a nightmare
