I’m calling upset right now. I feel like FSU always upsets Duke and FSU seems better than usual this year.

Besides Ian Miller, Florida State has a team full of future D-League All Stars…

it will be far from a upset if FSU wins

FSU is a big physical team i can already see Duke getting calls for days………

Duke’s without Ryan Kelly…I’m fine if Duke loses this game because if we go on to the ACC Final and win, we’ll get the number one seed out West.

IIRC Duke hasn’t gone to the Elite Eight when they are in the West bracket. I would rather be the 2 seed in the East with Syracuse.

LOL Duke fans making excuses already. "I don’t care if we win" "I’d rather have a 2 seed than a 1 seed"

C’mon man don’t act like winning the ACC tournament isn’t a major accomplishment….

I’m ready to see why Ian Miller is a top 10 pick for next year, not saying he isn’t but everytime I catch FSU on tv, he doesn’t play good.

It is a major accomplishment. But we’re not beating UNC in the finals so there’s no point in beating FSU.

Andre Dawkins is really in a funk, even got a three blocked. FSU is really good, they defend and have guys that really know their roles. Both teams should go far

This Duke team is so up and down…I wouldn’t be surprised if they got to the Elite Eight…or get bounced in the first round.

Quinn Cook and Tyler Thornton wouldn’t get picked at the local YMCA pick up game…

Still can’t figure this guy out.  Has anybody had such great leaping ability combined with such poor coordination and lack of speed?  He’s like a combination of Chris Wilcox and Bill Laimbeer if that makes any sense…

I’m intrigued by Paul White on FSU…should be a good prospect.

Mason and Miles Plumlee chose the wrong school to go to for their talents and their development has suffered for it.  Had they gone to a Calhoun coached team or a team that gives bigmen touches they would have been college stars.  I mean a good example would be Zeller vs. the Plumlees.  Look at the difference.  Plumlee and Zeller entered with the same abilities and who has developed more?  They chose to go to a school whose offense runs through it’s guards and shooting 3’s.

They have missed out on a lot of development.  I think that unfortunately it might be too late for them to make up for it.  I would take both of them in the late second round.

@NBAfan I disagree. After watching the Plumlees for so long I’ve gotten to the conclusion that they will never understand how to play basketball. The only way they’re considered athletic is because they can jump high. They’re not quick, cooridnated, or have a high basketball IQ.

Zeller already had a knack for scoring the ball. The only thing he improved upon during his tenure at UNC was adding weight. Zeller, imo, would be just as good at Duke as he is at UNC and the Plumlees would be just as bad at UNC as they are at Duke.

akhan, fair opinion.  We can agree to disagree.

But I think you didn’t watch the same Zeller that I watched his freshman, sophomore and junior campaigns.  As a freshman he was skinny as a rail had a shoot everytime he got the ball syndrome and was a horrendous defender.  Same as a sophomore.  As a Junior he put on weight and improved, but still couldn’t rebound worth a lick or play defense.  This year he has been a beast on the boards and a great defender stepping up and taking charges.

I saw Mason Plumlee and Marshall Plumlee play a lot in High School.  (I didn’t get a chance to see Miles).  Mason has all the tools there.  I still stand by my opinion that he has just not developed the way he should have, and I blame the Duke coaching staff.  I mean he is a GREAT athlete make no mistake about it and can play when he gets the touches.  It’s Duke’s offensive scheme that has really hindered his development.  As a UNC fan, I was really scratching my head at why UNC went after the Wear twins over Mason.  I thought that he and Zeller were at the same level when both came to college, with Mason having a higher upside.  Duke fans Marshall Plumlee is a HUGE project, have patience with him.

I don’t want you to take this as a UNC homer post.  They are just different offensive systems.  I actually think Barnes fits in better with Duke offensive system than UNC’s.  Barnes would thrive on iso’s from the top of the key and coming off screens in the mid range and 3 point line.  It bugs me how we just make him create without giving him space and how we don’t use him as a 6’8" Rip Hamilton, which is how I know Duke would use him.

@YoungDave asked why Ian Miller is a Top 10 pick in 2013?

If you watch him play,he might have only 12 pts and only 3 asts 1 game..And the next game have only 10 pts and 1 asts….But he still might be the 1st point guard selected this year, over guys like Marshall,Teague and Lilliard…

Scouts see him being a pro player then college player, sort of like the way Russell Westbrook blossomed in the nba…
