Through the Bucks first 5 games, Wolters has played in just one game, logging just 10 minutes. Coming off a solid rookie season, Wolters proved he could play in the league and be a solid rotation guard and maybe a starter someday. Sadly, Wolters is out of the rotation. Knight is having a very good start to the year and is deserving of starting, Bayless has shown he can play in this leaugue, and for whatever reason the Bucks are falling into the trap of thinking Mayo can be more than a black hole.

I’d like to see my guy Nate "The Great" Wolters start to get some solid PT with the Bucks or a team with a need for help in the backcourt trade for Wolters, which couldn’t cost anything right???

Pacers, Kings, OKC, New York, Hawks, Lakers, Rockets, 76ers (god knows anyone would help that sorry team).

What do ya say guys? Lets get my dude Nate going!!!!

currently arn’t looking for any upgrades to their team. Do you have any unproven 17 year old forigners who are over 6’8, under 150 pounds but have a halfway decent jumpshot? 76ers would probably be interested in that.

In all seriousness, I was a huge doubter in Nate, but I agree he had a very solid year last year and can see him being a 10 year back up career. Unfourtunately, it looks like he won’t have much PT on his rookie deal.

He’s definitely a guy that deserves some PT. He’s gonna have a long career as a good backup. This problem goes back to the Bucks questionable offseason signings of Jerryd Bayless and Kendall Marshall. I actually like those two guys individually, but not for this team. They now have 4 PGs (Bayless, Marshall, Wolters, and Knight) who are backup caliber (Knight could be a low-end starter). What they need is a franchise PG who bring together their young and talented frontcourt. I don’t know why them wasted their time overloading on guys that they knew wouldn’t be their franchise PG. The result is a talented guy like Wolters not getting the PT he deserves.

but he doesn’t have room at PG, especially since Bayless has been playing excellent this season.  The Bucks’ starting lineup is in dire need of another ball handler, so he would be a better starting SG than Dudley.  But as long as Dudley starts, there are no minutes for him, as Mayo is too good off the bench.  I do hope he replaces Dudley in the rotation later in the season, as the Bucks are in dire need of adding a secondary ball handler to there starting lineup.

Brandon Knight is literally playing for a contract and trying to assist or score on every play…   OJ actually playing well so far this season…  Jabari or Giannis aren’t getting touches in certain positions to score…  I don’t know what Jason Kidd is doing, but I would hope he’ll find a way to get those guys going…   It’s almost like pick up ball…if you pass it up, there is no chance you’ll get it back when Brandon is playing…

I think guys on this site overrate Greek the Freak, but he honestly not getting the ball like he should…  You would think a team like the Bucks would go through Jabari and him instead of Brandon Knight…

If you’ve watched the games, I think it would be pretty clear why Knight has been the primary ball-handler instead of Jabari.  Jabari has had a very difficult time just dribbling the ball, much less creating for anyone.

Knight is erratic, and he makes 2 or 3 head scratching passes/shots each game, but he’s one of three players on the team that can create for both himself and others (OJ and Bayless being the other two).  On top of that, he just plays his ass off all game every game.  He and OJ have easily been the best offensive players on this team.

Regarding Jabari and Giannis not getting the ball like they should, Knight has actually made a big effort to get the ball to Jabari.  If you pay close attention, you’ll see that there will be multiple times each game where he signals for Jabari to post his man up (which he needs to do more often), but Jabari does a very poor job of sealing his man, so Knight will pass it to someone else and tell them to pass it to him at a better angle, but then that player will blow Jabari off and try to force a shot up on their own.  Jabari has actually been Knight’s 2nd favorite target for passes, behind only Middleton (who has REALLY struggled so far this year).

Knight and Giannis haven’t played together enough for Knight to really blow him off, but even having said that, nobody has passed it to Giannis more than Knight has, and while Giannis’ usage wasn’t where it should be the first few games, he’s gotten more opportunities to attack recently (and it’s also worth noting that he simply hasn’t looked comfortable on the court…he must have stepped out of bounds for no reason at least 8 or 9 times already this year.

Lastly, the Bucks have slowly been playing Knight more off the ball as the season has worn on.  That’s where Knight is at his best, and can be a very good player in the NBA.  He’s just been forced into being the primary ball-handler on this team because he’s the only starter that can create for himself and others.

I’ll reply to your comments per paragraph…

1.) I agree, but I wasn’t saying Jabari need to be the primary ball handler.  I was saying he isn’t given the ball in spots to be productive.  Brandon isn’t that guy to just allow the ball to make it around to a particular player without being the one to make the pass there…  That’s the main issue with him…

2.) That’s subjective… Kidd doesn’t play the players that can create for others…  Knight and OJ can get their own shot, but Marshall and Wolters (the guy this thread is made after) isn’t getting enough minutes…  The Bucks offense is ugly to look at..  Most of the sets involves staggered screens for Brandon at the top and he either goes in or make a pass to players that’s at the corners (usually the 4, which is Jabari or Giannis) or pass it back to the 5 or SF that set the screen…  At that point maybe another pass is made if that shot isn’t open…  This is non stop…

3.) This shows what I’m trying to say…  Brandon doesn’t need to be the only one that passes Jabari the ball..  And him not properly sealing his man is a cop out…  Most of the time Brandon holds the ball too long to pass in and he can’t hold him off that long…  Most of Jabari’s shots are from scraps within the offense…  Offensive rebounds, late in the shot clock, or when he had enough and forces shots…  Even when he does have the ball people stop and just watch…

4.) Same issue as Jabari…  He is forced to the corners and taken out of the offense altogether.  Knight doesn’t need to pass it to him for Giannis to score… These guys should be able to get their own shots within the offense…  Knight isn’t Chris Paul at all and it’s forcing these guys to be role players, when in fact they are suppose to be the future faces of the franchise…  The first game of the season I watched the whole first half and didn’t even noticed Jabari was on the floor…  He literally wasn’t in any part of that offense…  Same as last game versus the Bulls…  It’s BS and I’m starting to question Jason Kidd as a coach, because Brandon isn’t that type of player to have a green light on every possession…  He doesn’t win games…

John Henson as well. I really have no clue why Milwaukee acquired Bayless, Marshall, and Dudley all it is doing is creating a logjam throughout the entire depth chart. Wolters and Henson are both NBA rotation players that arent getting minutes right now.

I really expect both to be traded at some point this year.  Personally, I just don’t see Wolters ever being more than a decent backup guard (which is still valuable, but I don’t see why he needs major minutes like a lot of other Bucks fans are clamoring for).  But for me, he’s behind Bayless and Marshall in the pecking order.

Henson needs to be traded now while he still has decent value around the league.  He blocks a lot of shots, but he has no clue how to rotate on defense, and he still hasn’t learned how to do anything offensively besides a left-handed hook shot.  If the Bucks can get a late 1st round pick for him, he should be moved yesterday.  Having said that, as long as he’s on this team, he should be getting more minutes than Zaza Pachulia lol.

And let’s be perfectly honest.  The Bucks didn’t acquire Jared Dudley because they love him as a player.  They acquired him because he came with a 1st round pick, and he’s a guy that doesn’t demand touches but can still show the young players how to be a professional.

The Bayless acquisition made sense at the time, because when they got him, Knight and Wolters were the only other PGs on the roster.  Then Marshall was surprisingly waived by the Lakers and Milwaukee jumped on the opportunity given that he’s shown some promise.

Not the Kings, we’re even having trouble finding Ray McCallum minutes as of right now.
